Thank you for these videos. I was diagnosed 13yrs ago and told I'd be dead within 18 months - thankfully not all Neurologists know what they are talking about. Unfortunately i suffer severe balance problems, foot drop, spasms, fatigue, tremors, freezing of hands, numbness ...and I'm still classed as relapsing-remitting! While tremors, fatigue and balance issues interrupt any exercises, your exercises are still nice to do...even though the tremors go nuts afterward! But again, thank you for your videos...while its a long, slow journey to get those new neural nets active, I know it can be done. Good luck to you all, we can do this.
@@jonafark7077 The exercises are a slow journey...not like a Panadol, but it has helped keep the muscles to remember what they are supposed to do in the face of what feels like an uncontrollable decline. I always hated the intense spasms and tremors, and probably more so the fact i had no control over them, but my very supportive husband told me to reframe it in my head. He reminded me that the severe spasms are like a major exercise work out, pointing out the fact my legs haven't shriveled to nothing even though I now use a wheelchair. I have noticed diet plays a HUGE part in MS progression and that coffee (and this is just one item) affects it for the worse in me. I admit I have been too lazy to stop this, and I blame myself for progressing to a chair. This is an amazing personal journey (MS) and I've leant more about me through this process (and gratefully have an amazing husband to help me through the journey)...I can't think of a bigger (and better) process to learn what I have. For whatever reason you have this very frustrating condition (genetic or environmental) the best way to cope is to ride the waves (there are HEAPS of them), stay sane and be as philosophical and 'zen' as you can. Hello A.Ar, we hope all is well with you and your son. We suggest consulting your physician regarding the specific conditions of your son's spasticity in his leg. I have hard time doing that because my knee pops up. I have a lot spasticity in my thigh and calf and hips. How can I combat that?
Jasmine, try our stretch videos along with massage to get oxygenated blood flow to the tissue/muscles in our your legs and hips to help increase the pliable nature of the tissue and your functional abilities. The "popping" in joints in some cases is directly connected to tight tissue around the areas. We do of course always suggest sharing this info with your physician. Keep up the effort, we are proud of you.
