- Large hail, restricted areas, and the COPS tried to stop me from seeing this MOTHERSHIP!
Note that's there a LOT of flashing lightning in this for those with Epilepsy.

Going through every frame to manually change the lighting? Now that's dedication.
true
Yeah
I have to do the same thing, its tedious but the end result is just pure WOW every single time!
hey man no worries. i used to live in a small town called Ogden, basically right on the entrence to the Fort. before moving there visiting my gf at the time i got lost and somehow managed to get myself onto military training field. after stopping by trying to find out how to get back to I-70 from google maps, 2 Military jeeps pulled up behind me after intense questioning, they believed me that i was lost, understand how i missed the signs (was night) and lead me out and gave me directions.....and thats how i was almost arrested by the Fort Riley Military for Spying and possibly Treason. Good times. im just glad i wasnt the only one lol. on top of that yes, i would dare say Kansas has some of the most Beautiful lightning shows in the country. was so georgous.
What a crazy story, sounds like something I would totally do 😂 I moved to centralia near seneca ks after I married my husband. There were many times driving to see him where I would still somehow get lost, I have driven close to fort riley many times! Coming from western kansas I love the many hills, rivers and greenery here that is quite lacking out west lol I grew up chasing storms with my dad for his job and live vicariously through storm chasers videos unless there is a storm close to me, and boy the first couple of years living here I got to see at least some wicked funnel clouds and a lightening hit our tree in our front yard about only 10 steps from our house!
That cops attitude was garbage.
Bro, they were literally blocking the road so no one would go under the rotation for safety issues and such, and pi decides to pass them on a double line with their lights on lmaoo
OF course the cop would be disappointed?
@@LeoKBass Good thing too, cause Pi was flying blind with no radars or any idea of exactly where the rotation is. I mean, it's not like it's his literal job to know exactly where rotation and tornados are at any given moment.
maybe don't ask stupid questions or try illegally passing four cop cars blocking your lane
Exactly and people are still defending the cop lol weirdos
Well when you break multiple laws and try to act all innocent you kind've deserve an attitude.
Yeah that did not look like a conventional roadblock I probably would've made the same mistake. Great video btw that was a fun chase!
I woulda just went past personally. Those cops were being asses anyway and are they really gonna go chase you into a tornado?
“Yeah, IT IS closed.”
Cop sounded like a wiseass.
I really appreciate your hard work and dedication to providing such quality content!
Love your channel mate. So genuine and real. Good luck for this upcoming season, I look forward to more of your quality videos :) From Australia , Stay Safe!! 👍
8:16 Little did he know, a week later lightning would kill his trusty Prius.
I love what you're doing man! You are incredible at tornado chasing. Much respect!
If there is no Pecos Hank video uploaded, there is you, thank you for entertaining us!
EXACTLY
Incredible photography!! Gorgeous shots!!
Love your passion and your work. Truly amazing footage.
Unbelievable Pi ! You are truly an artist with nature as your canvas. Amazing !
6:17 let me get tha- OH! AAAAAA BWABWABWEHBA AAAAAA THIS IS AMAZING AHHHH
Great photography and awesome personality!
Thank you for this!
This is astonishing footage of the beautiful storm, hope you get more of it!
i am SO envious of the storms in US... I live in Denmark and whenever we have a storm, it´s just a couple of minimal flashes and tiny bit of rumble... weather here is SO boring!
one time back in June (2022) lightning struck and blew up part of a tree right in front of my house
From the most lightning you've captured to being captured by lightning!!! Glad your ok and hope to see you under the Meso.
I love how Mother Nature works in mysterious ways very incredible on how it produces lightning so amazing like that.
6:00 lightning montage was so cool!
Road blocks like that should be a suggestion, not a requirement. Personal well-being should be up to the driver, not the cops, if the person is putting himself and only himself at risk.
but you can't trust people to put only themselves at risk, can you? especially not when roads and cars are involved
I agree, but sometimes only a wallcloud is visible and not the funnel cloud. Most people aren't going to know it's a tornado until it's too late.
Ur a wonderful RUclipsr and u make me be excited for tornadoes and storms
What age r u

Bro I loved the VoiceOver keep up the amazing content PI
I live in west Texas every time we get a storm like that I sit out side and watch it because it’s rarer but yet so Beautiful and magnificent to watch
Great job ‼️luv the thumbnail 😃 your lightning shots are up there with Pecos Hank
love this guys energy
Do more storm chasing in Alabama please we just had a storm system producing a tornado emergency in Selma and I’m pretty sure it was an EF3. Best of wishes and may god be with you!
Holy crap, the storm even pulled the moon into it
Youre so awesome Pi!
We're ready for another season, Bud!
Go Get 'Er!
What a fantastic display of lightning!! Can you share your video settings and camera you used at night? Despite the rolling shutter...you captured it well. Did you use an "open shutter" or use the 180 rule - double the shutter speed?
Its possible to capture certain types of leaders with slow motion footage. 120 fps is good enough to get lucky. For some reason leaders are less likely to get chopped compared to ground strikes. I think the time lapse is from a series of full exposures, not sped up video.
Also: Would a drone with a high-quality night vision camera see anything useful at night around a storm? Maybe play around with infared hunting scope cams on the ground at night to a/b/c test.
It might be able to pick up damages from a tornado at night, but idk how common that is.
Fort Riley, Kansas is a army base so you probably when on base
by accident without permission.
I love how every time you seen lighting you said zap.
great! The storm looks so amazing.
What the heck?! MEMYSELFANDPI IS HERE!! Wow did not know you posted still man, this is great to see. Keep up the great content, I'm going to continue watching dude. take it easy
Yo sup will
@@damianwilding long time no see!
underrated youtuber you deserve more love
I am curious about the date at 02:09 in the left lower corner... why its saying 2019???
Excellent job!!
You were definitely dealing with Geary County sheriffs. They will shut down roads for severe weather. You saw more awesome weather in your chase than I did growing up in that area.
Good to know it's limited to that one county. I'll watch out for them next time!
@@MorePi -you just have to watch out on the main highways. The few paved county roads, they usually don't block. Those are easiest to get to from US 77 vs 177 on the east side of the county.
Amazing storm’s video footage of lightning impressive wondering what iso value did you use to capture lightning ⚡️
Storm headed your way!
Dude your videos are awesome. Thank you RUclips algorithm
In the flashes of thunder I see 2 tornado's and that is so beautiful
Always entertaining watching your videos!
I think he said mothership like he saw a mothership ufo
Man i wish we had lightning like this up in Canada we rarely even see funnel clouds. Also, what weather app are you using?
Radarscope
3:13 IS THAT A TORNADO RIGHT THERE?
Awesome lightning shots ⛈⚡️
Fantastic stuff i love it
Man can you take me with you? I just sit in the backseat and say nothing, I just wanna watch these storms live ❤.❤
i just subscribed to your channel because i love weather storms and especially this video with the lightning was awesome i put my video to slow mode and it so cool ahhh i just love it
Holy crap! THAT’S SO BRIGHT
Sadly if you had a big white van and one of the top corpo logos on its side they'd probably wave you through that roadblock.
The lightning makes it look like its day
At 7:24 it looks like its day time
Awesome content! Can't wait for more
Fort Riley? I was born there!
First video I see of you! Dang you reminded me of Muyskerm, one of my fav youtubers 😁 you just look way younger!
Hi wow 🤩 mind blowing action man 😆
I love your set up on the camera 🎥 yes am loving the Prius as we’ll but oh my days it’s a milk float and not sure if a Prius can out run a storm ⛈ 😂 I’ve got the same car and i think 🤔 it’s to lightweight for the job one hard cross wind 💨 can push the Prius of the road or not 😆
Here in the uk 🇬🇧 we don’t get wild weather as much but I got to give you that it’s your passion that drives you forward…
Also please be careful and stay Blessed 😇
Any chance this happened to be the 8/12-8/13 2021 storm? If so, drove through that electrical storm on the way to KC from the south, craziest storm I've ever seen in my life.
I think it is!!! Lots of records broken around the world that summer re: lightning!!!
Just a question, how come you stopped doing cubing videos?
Well it is a mothership disguised as a raincloud I’ve seen starships and motherships. They are awesome. Seen Clouds stacked up like pancakes
finally another video
Jackie Robinson served at Fort Riley before his baseball career
Beautiful lighting storm
2:29 that guy was kinda rude honestly
Hi again, did you manually put together the radar and your position on the radar or did you record your iPad? Also love the story behind the videos, it make them soo much better. Can’t wait to see your next video
Yeah, I spent a ton of time manually putting it on there. I only started screen recording my iPad last year. For anywone else wondering, here's how I did it:
Recorded my GPS location using the Android app A-GPS Tracker.
Downloaded archive radar from here:
console.cloud.google.com/storage/browser/gcp-public-data-nexrad-l2
Used NVidia Control Panel to convert my 1080p monitor to a "4K" one.
Imported the downloaded radar files into GR-Level 2 on Windows.
Screen recorded the radar in 4K using OBS.
Imported my GPS file into GPX Player from the Microsoft store
Screen recorded that as well.
Used Adobe After Effects to overlay both screen recordings on top of each other, and resized and retimed them to match.
Motion tracked my location dot on the GPX Player screen recording.
Then I used the Radar Scope icon to follow the tracked path.
Recording my iPad is MUCH faster. I just have reposition the view every now and then. It means I'm stuck with what I recorded on the chase, not to mention loosing service occationally, but it mean I can edit my newer videos so much faster. But I only started doing that last year, and I probably have 8 videos
i love this video
Really nice job on chasing you are amazing!
I wish I could share a photo (still I took from video) I took of lightning while I was traveling with my husband in his tractor trailer. The strike was so close it looked like you could reach out and touch it! Not that I would…🙄 I wouldn’t even know how to clean up the still either. The bolt weaved it’s way through the road bushes and struck the ground. I’m so frustrated. 😩
There was a tornado or 2 in the mothership pi
I don't get moody cops, isn't the whole point of your job to help people? If you're gonna be moody at the people you're trying to help, what's the point even being a cop?
It is but when you have storm chasers swerving onto the opposite lane rather quickly as though you're about to pass the road block just to take pictures, this can be irritating for cops who expect drivers to not be reckless. It's not a weird roadblock either, this is called an "exit-only" they block the road leading to the danger and not the road coming from the danger. You're not supposed to turn onto the opposite lane to get around this.
That was awesome!!! Hope you didn’t had a seizure
I thought you've been in the channel I guess I just wasn't around for a very long
can you turn 5:17 into a wallpaper i would love for that to be a desktop background LOOKS SO COOL
Hey pi, did you quit mmapganing? If you did I think you should get back into the channel. You were my child hood.💙💛
I like how he was nice to the officer but he was being rude
Awesome video!
Great video brother! What chase day was this?
Hi Pi, ive been following for a while now (only just recently subbed on this account) im into all the chasing stuff (mostly photographing lightning) I have to know, what's the camera you use on the tripod!? I need to get one!
It's Samsung's one good camera they used to make, the NX1. Now I'm also using the A7siii too.
@@MorePi awesome! ill look into it for sure, I definitely need a good camera.. its even more tedious to capture lightning with my iPhone 13 Pro Max lol... I sent you over some of my captures on Facebook!
nice video 👍👏
Zap? Zap. Zap. Zap. Zap.
The real hero of this story is the tanks for not appearing and running over the Prius
This is perfect cuz I'm eating talkis while watching tornadoes my favorite taki is blue heat
very cool video!!
Tank crossing? WHERE AM I??
Did he stop cubbing🤔🤔
What software do you use to edit your videos/photos? Thanks!
Amazing chase video
what day was this i live in manhatin
August 15, 2019
In the UK there was a water spout
Did you get see the Springdale Arkansas tornado?
wait a damn minute U LOOK LIKE MY ART TEACHER-
Are you going to try to fly your drone into a tornado again on RUclips
3:44 you can see a wall cloud
Where would a tank crossing be
The cops wasn’t trying to stop you from seeing it, they are just doing there job and has nothing to do with what your doing
Been watching your channel and been subscribed for a good while now I enjoy your content man and filming with a drone when you can was just a genius idea! You've got some great stuff! I was wondering though did you have to do anything special to storm chase did you go through the skywarn course? Did you do anything to learn everything you have about storms or was it just by your own research? Sorry if this is alot of questions I'm just curious it was also a dream of mine when I was a kid to storm chase and I've been questioning whether or not it's still something I may want to pursue. Any advice you can give?
Well during my first storm chase my sister and I just went off a Weather Channel forecast. We saw our first tornadoes that day, but had no idea what we were doing,. So I would highly recommend checking out Skip Talbot's lectures on RUclips. He has a few about forecasting, chasing, and spotting, and I wished I watched them before!
Then after that I watched Meatorology 101 lecture series on RUclips and that helped a TON to understand the Storm Prediection Center's forecasts.
I did also take a spotter class from my local NWS office, but I learned way more from Skip.
Is that a F3
dude doesnt mothership mean like a ship ship home to alot of stuff
