      It used to work but not anymore, MRTA blocked all mobile payment (including Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) shortly after they debuted tap-to-pay. Only physical cards will works for the time being, but they mentioned that it will be supported soon. We just don't know when.

    Public transport in Bangkok is great. But if you hate to use telephone or credit card (as I do as I want always keep track on my expenses) and use travel cards then it can become a little complicated sometimes:
    When I want to travel from my station Sri Kritha (Yellow Line) to Nana (BTS) the fastest way (altogether only five stops) I have to use three different cards.
    1: Sri Kritha - Hua Mak (1 stop) by Yellow Line. You have to use Rabbit card, (same as for BTS), even the service is run by MRT.
    1a: Long walk from Yellow Line Hua Mak to ARL (Airport Rail Link) Hua Mak.
    2: Hua Mak - Makkasan by ARL (2 stops). You have to use your ARL card.
    2a: Long walk from (but a little bit shorter than the "1a" walk) from ARL (Makkasan) to MRT (Phetchaburi).
    3: Phetchaburi - Sukhumvit by MRT (1 stop). You have to use your MRT card.
    3a: Transit here from MRT (Sukhumvit) to BTS (Asok) is short, but often very crowded.
    4: Asok - Nana (1 stop) by BTS. You have to use your Rabbit Card.
    I wish one day "Spider Card" will come.

    Haven't you seen the last rule? Taking photos or videos is prohibited in subway stations. Because the image or video may be used in planning terrorism.which is difficult to be able to deal with that terrorism.

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  9 месяцев назад +6

      That particular rule is not really enforced if you are not INTENTIONALLY capture other faces or for commercial used. The purpose of this rule is to follow PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) regulation as other businesses/corporates in Thailand, to restricted the using of other personal identifiable information on their property to making money.

    Man ! Have you read the prohibition sign before getting off the MRT station and saw a clear sign that does not allow video recording? Why don't you respect the rules of this place? Especially when recording a video in a public place that involves violating the privacy rights of others. Even though Thailand may be considered poor in the eyes of you westerners. But we have a PDPA policy that is on par with western countries and Thai people always follow and respect it. The fact that you do this deliberately is not cute at all. And don't be surprised if you are seen as disrespecting us. You have no right to do this as a foreign tourist. If you don't respect us. Don't be surprised if you are not respected or welcomed by us either.

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  9 месяцев назад +4

      Do you leave this same comment on thousands of other videos featuring the MRT in Bangkok? Or just mine? Do note that I walked past security and was even approached by security at the entry gates and was not asked to stop recording.

      If u dont put the camera obvious filming people or in their faces(as many youtubers do) ..Its often pretty relaxed with those rules..and if they say anything a simple "mai pen rai krap"..and shut down the camera works fine.
      And it's good commercial for : Krung Thep Maha Nakhon clean and effective trains that most ppl are proud over.

    • @onponnoy5403
      @onponnoy5403 9 месяцев назад +3

      You've violated our PDPA law and our kindness of "Mai Pen Rai" through out the clips. This is the example of unwanted foreign visitors.

    • @Bucketofnugget
      @Bucketofnugget 9 месяцев назад +1

      Bruh stop the whining you’re gonna make us feel ashamed with your unwelcoming behavior. The mrt just prohibits recording for commercial purpose. Recreational use doesn’t count.

    no need to actually go in this city , we already visit it since those videos. Anyway, Bangkok is too expensive, and its people don't want to learn english. they're not going to forgive badly spoken Thai. it's far to be easy to travel there.

    • @JohnnyStrides
      @JohnnyStrides  6 месяцев назад +14

      Thai people are wonderfully friendly in general. It's very ignorant to go into another country and expect them to speak English... maybe stay home instead, you're doing them a favour.

      Imagine you can only speak English but want to go every country and force other people to speak your language 😂. I am Thai and I'm not living in Bangkok but I think people in Bangkok can speak English or understand English if you speak slower or not trying to make them confused by your accent.

      @@Dijkstra555 first your country is one of the most touristy so of course we westerners expect to hear some english
      secondly your language is a torture to learn, you're too demanding about the tones
      and thirdly why you're even here if you didn't went to the city of angels

    • @Dijkstra555

      @@maegalroammis6020 Firstly If you talking slower and not trying to make them confused with your accent they will understand your english 100% except they're old people. Secondly I think the reason is "SHY" They're too shy to speak foreign language because because they think too much about their accent and grammar (Thai people hate to speak other languages because of this) best way to fix it is use your translator on your phone. Even I am not living in Bangkok but I went to Bangkok every month.
