Welcome to another MarcelianOnline 10.2 Tier List! Today, we're diving into the MOST FUN Melee DPS in World of Warcraft. We'll be ranking each 10.2 melee dps based on their rotation, fantasy, feel and a little bit of performance in the latest patch. All those put together result into what we would call fun, but remember, fun is subjective! So, whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newbie, there's something here for everyone.

Hi, cool video, i think it would be awesome for example when you are talking about tier set to put tier set on the screen, since i think most of the people watching "most fun to play" video are trying to decide what they gonna play and probably dont know and dont necesseralily want to google each set when you talking about it:)

The fact that you have to rely on D&D to do cleave as FROST DK bothers me so much.. why not give it to Remorseless Winter??? Frost Scythe is a meme, Glacial Advance does 0 dmg, hard capped at 3 targers with Obliterate INSIDE D&D, 0 to almost none utility... Someone save us please
What is the problem with Frost Scythe? It feels really good pressing that when you have killing machine.

@@christopherneil8265 the problem I have with D&D: 1) costs one rune 2) does 0 dmg 3) if tank moves or sanguine or mechanics or whatever, you are screwed. 4) I just believe it does not fit for Frost's fantasy at all 5) Hitting only 3 targets feels awful.
It needs a hard rework. Its been the same class since.... WoD? I would like the essences back with utility kinda like Pally does too
Best way would to just give cleave always during pillar of frost when talented into obliteration - then just work the numbers to make it balanced.
I just love Windwalker. The combo sytem, the amazing AOE damage, its speed, ring of peace, the big blue pumper, the coolest when you divide yourself in 3 guys....and the best movility in the game!!!!! Just LOVE It
Class-Fantasy is there, iut just needs a rework like Pala or Rogue and then Monk would be a blast again
100% agree. WW monk is my main and favorite class to play. I don't understand how so many ppl do not play it.
I like the core kit of the class but talents are overall really bad. I hate the statue for dps. I hate fey line stomp. They are both just press and forget, and in case of fey line stomp imo even negatively affect the class.
Imo they are also very loaded on very similar feeling defensives. And for ages their best stat is Versa which just shows that they dont scale well. They usually are good at the start and become worse because they have so much crit and haste baseline through talents.
I hope they take a good look at the spec and improve it for the next expansion.
I haven't played my monk since before Shadowlands. I used my pre-purchase level 70 boost on windwalker and man o' man am I happy I did. I am having a blast! I'm not toping the dps charts... yet... but I am having so much fun. Just enjoying learning the spec and kung-fu fighting.
@@LeroyKenton why ? you must play 10x more as another classes to do this dmg this is why and play Monk Tank . another world .... need 20x more to press.
I agree with the enhancement take. It’s a fun play style, but it’s been the same since S4 of Shadowlands. I’d appreciate giving the physical build some more light just to switch it up. Also, kinda wish lava lash was optional. What if I want to use a two-hander?
Love these lists! Even though my main (Arms) got rated caca LoL! I'm a super casual player and I enjoy the rotation but I will admit that I wish the executes felt a little more impactful.

I miss shaman having chain harvest. Primordial wave is cool but i always preferred chain harvest

I love Ret. Every button feels so good to press.
I love ret paladin, its not all about damage, can do a lil heal for yourself or for a party member or lay of hands or bubble the healer. Remember cant dps if u r hugging the floor 😅
A counterpoint for Arms, I think it's incredibly satisfying now. Execute as a way to build up a massive Mortal Strike is incredible. In execute range, you can have the magical scenario as follows: 2 overpower buffs, 2 execute buffs, avatar, colossus smash and a crit on the Mortal Strike. When this happens, it feels much better than any big execute crit in the past - it requires work, timing and a bit of luck.
this is the best argument for Arms so far :)

I get it, but for me... give me the fat condemn spamm at the start and the end of the boss. I love spamming that one huge button.

Survival Hunter C Tier and Rogue S and A Tier ? Survival is the most fun Specc ive ever played
I’m a AOTC 3k IO 483 DK main with the legendary axe and man the classes dps specs are hurting. You nailed it with frost, it feels like an amalgamation of all the worst design choices it’s had over the last 10 years and regardless of your ranking I out UH right there with it. Both specs have what is essentially melee rune of power with DND and as UH defile will actually block you from seeing mechanics. Both have short duration maintenance buffs that you must kept uptime on in order to dos and both have absurdly strict rotations with zero wiggle room for variance. For example as 2H frost you have to have a separate macro combining your pillar and generator/spender abilities or you’ll lose 6%+ output. UH AoE is all based around maintaining a buff to make your dots tick faster but you need the buff up before applying the dots for full benefit so every fight is the same. Soul Reaper for 2h frost is brutal to use since they have a tight enough rune economy and it costs a rune to put up making it honestly not worth the talent point and in ST unholy is entirely front loaded with burst on a 3min timer. Both are a clunky mess that even if you dedicate the time and energy to mastering will put up lack luster numbers to many other specs such as rogues and Shaman.
Nailed it, i love the fantasy of the dk, used to main it but right now i’m staying away until they rework the class
Yep. Switching from UNH to ret pala was like finally knowing some love. Got 1800 set and i benched the class till rework. It really hurts because it's my favorite class theme wise
Alright, I'll bite. I main sin and I don't think it's S tier. For context, AOTC guild, 20ish keys, so not pushing the envelope. In raids it's great, but in M+ I find Kingsbane clunky to use outside of bosses, as trash dies before it can really ramp up the damage. And if you have a tank that chain pulls (or on spiteful weeks), relying on vanish and shadow dance to spread bleeds is a PITA. So while it's fun, there are also some big frustrations I have with it that would put as an A/B spec for me personally.
Agreed! I think for M+ it has to be in premades. Pugs always chain pull and it totally screws your dps. The #1 Assass rogue Zerocool displays it's power perfectly.
These are some wild takes. Windwalker is super fun right now and I am loving playing it as an alt. I love the rotation. I am maining Fury and also loving that, the lack of utulity sucks but the way the spec plays is super fun. Both S tier in my opinion.
Clunky is not the word I would use to describe Windwalker. I would argue that it has probably the most fluid and seamless rotation in the game. The problem is that it scales like shit and Faeline Stomp is a blemish on an otherwise fun and fast paced spec.
Also, when you look at all the cool stuff druids, warlocks, etc. get... it's kind of a shame that they don't even implement glyphs that allow us to use our weapons in combat.
Yeah, but scaling is a non argument right now. They buffed them so hard they will be fine in that department lol
I just made a Windwalker Monk. And it's pretty fun. I feel the abilities impact, and they flow well together.

Idk, WW is probably more B - A tier imo. The hit combo build and having your buttons set up to support that feels very satisfying to execute. Like playing an instrument almost.
A lot of other dps end up feeling a bit more spammy because there is an objective best button in a given situation. But monk hit combo. The best button is to keep on the rotational jam, maybe changing the tune but never spammy. Solid tool kit for when you want to be on the Roll~
It's boring when the meta turn it into a spin to win like a SL. But in his most natural phase, it's amazing, just lacking modern animation
i hadn’t touched my Monk in 3 xpacks. he’s now my S3 main. absolute blast. would recommend. the clunkyness is subjective i think it flows between attacks perfectly. t31 buff was necessary but i love WW
What we rly need is another paladin dps spec that is a spear wielder that uses dark magic instead of light. That could be epic
On point when it comes to frost. Baffled they actually thought leaving it as it is was a good idea. Frost needs jesus asap
The problem is that the DK dev doesn’t give a shit.
I more like survival during legion, idk but caltrops and explosive trap feels kinda cooler for me. Same for MM, vuln mechanic was cool.
I’m a warrior main have gotten cutting edge titles and pushed high M+ on it. In my opinion enhance and ww monk are the most fun melee classes. Enhance is my main alt.

Bro the same with Arms. I’ve always played and loved Arms Warrior since I got stomped by a human arms warrior in full s3 gear in a wsg. This current iteration of Arms is the least fun I’ve ever played.

@@MarcelianOnline there for sure was way darker times for arms 😅 i remember the change from legion to bfa. Legion arms was by far the funniest and best iteration of arms to play imo. 3 target base cleave, collosus smash with 3 sec cd + warbreaker and ravager.
Arms - Wish bladestorm is baseline. I feel Arms lose part of its identity if bladestorm is not talented.

Even though fury isn't very thrilling gameplay it is always a class I come back to. Alone for the Titan's Grip transmog options. But just smashing stuff and going warriorbrain-mode is actually super fun. I'd rather have it be a solid placing in the upper third of the charts than being just the meta. I also have a decently geared rogue but in PvE I just cannot enjoy rogue anymore. Not saying it can't be fun for some but it just isn't for me.
Feral can literally spam full combo point Ferocious Bites back to back when Berserk or Incarnate is active 🤘 such a fun and versatile class to play
I m sitting at 40% haste on arms, and this spec hasnt felt better. The rotation is smooth and pump is insane ❤
Arms shares the same problem with FDK, too much resources, but no matter how quickly/effectively you spend them, your dps won’t change much. They both have fundamental design flaws which only a rework can fix.
The most fun I had with Unholy is Festerblight and then Necroblight playstyles :)
I just want to say that i played my ret in a m+ and it is by far the most fun melee spec ive played i have yet to try rogues but pally is as good as it can be
Dude is spot on with Frost DK. I vividly remember I wouldn't switch to frost when it output more damage than Unholy like some expansions ago. It was just too boring to play...
think frost was the most fun in BFA when it got chill streak from the pvp essence
For a melee dps, survival hunter only has one melee attack with their weapon beyond FOTE, which is a CD. This is the biggest problem with the spec and keeps the fun-factor down. Throwing bombs is... a thing? More of what I would expect from a rogue versus a hunter. Would prefer to see thoughtful interactions like tar trap/flare that we saw in Shadowlands.
How is Ass more complicated than feral? Feral is an art to play and be done right, ass can have moments, then the king of management UH lol. Bow to UH.
Funny - my favorite melee is Windwalker... I do like Assassination cause of the poisons. I tried the Shaman melee but ended up playing him as resto cause I prefer Shaman healing to Shaman melee.

Don’t really agree on WW - it feels way better these days. Got few of guile playing different builds and all are doing competitive dmg. Seems a lot better than a month ago.
Can I ask which video editing software you guys like to use?
In SoD Meele Hunter goes to the atleast into Top 5 DPS and its Fun :D

Maybe in the next Expansion xD but SoD its actually Rising huge, soon with next lvl 40 phase its gonna be crazy.
But War Within will bring even more player back to retail.
Windwalker is more fun than Unholy.
By a mile.WW is A Tier for me in terms of fun.
I mained windwalker last season and switched to outlaw. I still love WW but agree they need a rework. I think what would be fun is maybe some sort of combo system similar to fighting games. Keep the abilities (tiger palm, rising sun kick etc) but some sort of burst window could be introduced by activating your "limit gauge" and doing combos Punch Punch Kick, Kick Punch Kick, etc and you could do some sort of finisher depending on your combo or maybe a juicy self buff or something.
All I want to know is what is this UI addon and how to configure it to look so clear and clean as in videos, that could help me alot as a main healer... ;x
I have mained Havoc since Legion, and Havoc currently isn’t fun AT ALL. They really messed up the way the class plays.
Outlaw requires way too many Weakauras to play effectively, and ever with them it's still a chore. WW does need a rework, but the gameplay is so smooth that it should be higher. I think the rest is pretty good.
Definitely feeling that way with outlaw right now. And if you accidentally press a BtE outside of stealth when vanish, shadow dance off cooldown it feels really bad

@@ragnarragnarson8068 Ret and havoc both feel better than outlaw. Ret in particular is very smooth. Havoc takes more to play well than Ret (despite people saying DH is braindead, that changed massively with the rework), but both are very fun. Outlaw feels like a chore.

Enhance is hands down the best melee in the game for fun. Ele blast hitting for over a mill is just the shit! It's only issue is it sucks to be capped at 6 targets.

I played assassination but I have to toy with it more. I’m stuck in legion assassination and the priorities seem somewhat different.
ret is missing st and a bit less punishment across talent builds. apart from that fun and decent supporter.

How do we fix SV? I love it but CA and the macro is ridiculous. So playing noCD build feels like I'm missing a big piece of the puzzle.
What's the addon for the floating combat text?
I simply cant manage to play dps in pvp... I even slept on a few occasions in LFR lol The rotation seems so boring compared to pvp were u choose wich skills to use at each second.
But i wanna try next season.

How is Frost DK the last one? I main it for some time now and absolutely love the spec. I mean I dont deal that much dmg ^^ but still a nice rotation
As someone who has played Frost (not main) every expansion since Wrath, he's correct in that nothing has changed really for it since Legion. Someone who played Frost DK in Legion could literally pick up and play it now in Dragonflight without any issues. It needs something new and different. Also i'm one of those awful people who despise Breath, which luckily is not the thing to play right now.
@@toothlessarcher I dont really like breath aswell, I dont like to be forced to do something in my rotation just to make the other thing work. But I definitly agree, the whole DK needs a change as soon as possible. No one really likes to play it

Ele blast on enhancement probably seems unimpactful to you because you are not using it correctly with other abilities. The entire playstyle of enhance is using your abilities to make themselves or other abilities stronger. Enhance is the most fun to me because I try to get the biggest ele blast possible, which was 2.138 million damage on mythic Nymue without a damage buff from outside sources.
Also having 2 mil crits on ele blast, 1.5 mil crits on pwave lb, and 500k damage on lava lash and frost shock crits are something that definitely feels impactful when done correctly.
Arms is fun, just trash output.
I don't agree with the enhancement placement, I have not had this fun in a long time playing it, feels so good just spamming feral spirits and prim wave on like a 20 sec cooldown. but great vid anyways :D

Loyal frost dk main aka arthas fanboy. They just need to change our aoe being dependant from DnD.. whinle pugging its struggle to aoe when tank is not BDK. Then you just overlap your DnD to his and he prolly wont kite anytime soon.
BUT if with friends who understand that when i put DnD on the ground its time not to kite like headless chicken if not needed to, you will be best and tankies dps.
Otherwise i like frost very much. In raids BoS slaps. Just need to have some minor changes with aoe.
Rogues are the top 3?? hmmmm based hahaha I agree total with DK, they are fun, but some rework could help them a lot, it is such an iconic class, they deserve better. The WW I desagree, the spec is super fun, they could work better on talents and balance in general, but the flavor and gameplay are on point!
Rogue rework is great for outlaw. I think they had a big miss with the other 2 tho. This is one of my hot takes, but i think energy as a resource is annoying, frustrating, and useless. They should make it like they did with mana for casters.
I've been loyal arms player since legion-bfa but right now it's so meh and boring I fr changed to fury and I never believed I would do this but now I see how much better fury is it's not painful to play and actually fun I just hate from the bottom of my heart thunderclap budget feral playstyle I can't stand it
enh. shamans have currently 12 active dps buttons in a priority list.. Bm hunter has 3 and does 4 times the amount of damage.. thats not fun.. at all.. rip shamans

For me, Arms and Frost DK fall under the same category. Why the F does the spender of your power (Execute, Froststrike) deal so less dmg than other abilities. WTF Blizz. That doesn't feel rewarding, when the spender does no dmg or less than the builder.
in frost terms, you could say FS is actually the builder for your true spender ;)

me want to cry seeing survival at C tier. The most satysfing for me pressing those bombs and Furry of the Eagle hmm bunch of crit eating. but i know how you feel, needs some change there seems always the same thing.

Arms main (doing 26+ keys right now) here and can confirm its pretty much not fun to play right now. The tier set is extremely crap in comparison to S2's tier set bonus. I dislike the fact you need to put a greater care which mobs (in aoe situation) you attack (so that your tier set bonus starts to make sense) .For S2's tier set bonus you needed to build up your "Mortal strike buff" stacks but if you positioned well it did quite a lot of extra DPS and was effortless since it didn't care what is your primary target, etc.
Last 26 BRH I was doing an almost perfect run and still couldn't beat a BM Hunter who made several bigger mistakes (370 vs 323 (me) vs 280), at least I outdps-d bdruid. The only small issue is that we compare our overal output to top tier DPS numbers, not what is on the same level or below us. I don't have legendary yet but it wouldn't change much considering numbers are pretty much disappointing based on logs. Then we have the "huge variety of builds" where we have the bladestorm build which is somewhat satisfying but hard to pull off its true potential with pugs (which often don't share route so you can hope that some extra mobs will be included in some certain pulls) or the FoB build which I honestly despise. As much as I hoped the tier set will rock our ST it's also quite meh. I run keys on my higher ilvl alts with arms warriors (had multiple players around my score ) and their ST is similar to mine. Naturally it can mean that we are all doing something wrong, but when I check streamers and their numbers match in ST scenario. When I play retribution it is honestly satisfying. Yeah obviously it has "Arms warrior sickness" but its just popping.
The worst thing is that I tried fury and while it does better ST than Arms it's even more unfun to play. At least I honestly don't enjoy the current rotation.

I finally gave up on warrior during Dragonflight. It sucks and it's not fun to play. I loved fury in shadowlands and wish we could go back. It's literally a two button spec right now and arms warrior is fun to play but then you're one of the worst dps specs in the entire game and working twice as hard for no dps or utility. I made a hunter and the game is just so much more fun. I don't have to deal with any of the melee problems and I do twice as much damage. Also I can actually help with the affixes instead of just being useless.

It's weird. You say this is the most FUN yet, constantly refer to need a rework. If the spec is fun in it's current iteration, regardless of how much damage it does, than it's fun.
I would say the reason Windwalkers are so loud about a rework is because the spec IS very fun, yet could be so much better if someone paid attention to it.
The entire dk class needs to be redone its fucking awful
Pallys animations need to be updated, they're bad and make it way less fun to play
Survival just needs to go back to range. Already more melee then range in game.
