Hey there! Thanks for watching and HUGE THANK YOU to Rikki for helping out with this video! What *if* the person is only *partially deaf* or has not been born deaf but *has lost her hearing after learning the english language*. She sounds very *professional* indeed.
This is actually a interesting topic that I dove into a little while back in my studies. The answer to your question: it depends. If somebody is born deaf then they will most likely never hear things in their heads, while people who were not born deaf and say already knew the language before becoming deaf would still hear things in their heads.
I'm from Malaysia and married to a Deaf wife. Through her, I've become involved with the Deaf community and took up Sign language as a course in the Deaf organisation I work for now. I've learned their culture and identity and it has taught me a lot of patience especially patience has never been one of my virtues. It's great to meet the Deaf from other cultures and I recently attended the World Federation of the Deaf Conference in Singapore 2 years ago and learned lots more! Thanks for sharing.....

Mr_Moon That’s where this community has the advantage. In music, you are supposed to feel the rhythm and the beat, and they can flow with the movement of music much more smoothly.
I remember yesterday, my mom, my friend and I went to a mall. We sat down at a fast food restaurant during lunch. While my mom ordered food, a man walked up to our table and sat down. I almost spoke, but when I noticed the device (hearing aid), I “spoke” to him in ASL sign language that somebody was sitting on the other side of the table. I realized that he placed a card on the table. I read it, and it was an organization charity. I donated to him $1 (or in he Philippines, 50 pesos) and he thanked me. I told my mom about it, and she was not happy. But to me? Doing good for others, especially during the Christmas season, is important and a big thing.

It really is. But it can be great at the same time too. Because when things are really annoying, you can just take off your hearing aids and smile. And say “Oh, sorry. I can’t hear you”. Lmao
This is pretty awesome. I looked up a youtuber that was deaf, and I was just fascinated by her. As I started to make my video on her I really became inspired by her. What people would consider a "handicap" and educating people on it. Great video!❤

I'm actually a part of the hard of hearing community. My deafness may be caused by genetics, however, because I was actually not a part of the hard of hearing community until age 4-5. Then, at rhat point, my hearing started to go downhill. Right now I attend a mainstream school (and I have hearing aids, too) and my mom and I both communicate with speech and sign language. My dad is a hearing person. (My hearing has dropped by about 50% from the time I started going deaf to this very moment right now.) Edit: I will also try to answer questions revolving around deafness, do not worry.
+killer flag98 Maybe they visualize themselves doing sign language. Thinking in a language only helps up communicate with ourselves and plan what we will communicate to others, so it's not technically necessary for people to think in a language at all. (I'm not a expert, but that explaination makes sense to me.)
The exact same way as you - in concepts. Babies don't think in a language. Animals don't think in a language. You don't think in a language. You think in concepts. Your brain translates these concepts into your language, which is the reason why all animals can think, they just don't speak because they have sounds they make to help communicate with other animals of the same species (Kinda like you do, except these sounds are words).

Althrough I still miss information and have differently hearing. I also use New Zealand sign language (NZSL) when I was born, I could't hear anything at all and could't learn to talk or learn how to read during those years. Till at 3 and half, I got my first cochlear. Which then I had a lot to catch up and school was very hard for me, but I kept going. Rashaud Walker As an artist, i agree. Loosing sight would be for me a loss of a part of me. And if i think further from the fact that I am an artist, I would also be terrified not being able to look at everything around me, colours, people, animals, shadows and more. Observation of the world around me gives me the highest possible emotional involvement than any other thing. But at the same time I would feel bad if I tourned deaf, because I would loose the ability to listen to music.
Yeah I am also deaf, I am the only one deaf in my school or so I think but (some other people have hard of hearing not complete deafness so yeah) but to some people they didn’t know what deaf was so if I met new people I have to explain everything and I thought I was the only one until I learned about the deaf community it was fascinating and I aspire to do my best and my deafness makes me who I am :)
You've gotten me interested in this type of stuff. But I've got a big question: I've seen videos talking about people who are blind and now I've seen one about people who are deaf, but what about people who can't smell? Is that something that can happen? How can it affect someone?
SabNik 3001 Ikr I have no idea how they live like that, it must be very difficult and it will take a really long time to get used to. I feel bad for people who are Deaf, Blind and can't speak. ;-;
Lucky Banana well you cannot actually know what they see, because there is no definition of any color, so blind people cannot answer to the question "What are you can you see?" basically because you describe something you see with colours and, as I said, you cannot give a deffinition for any colour. Also, there is another theory, that everyone sees colours differently, but because we learn to name everything that we see a specific colour, it makes no difference. So what I basically mean, is that I may see res as what you see green, but because we call each one a specific name, we think everything is fine.
Why is no one taking this seriously? I was expecting to see people commenting with their experience being deaf or something, not making weak jokes! Shame on you people. Also, I am partially deaf, and I appreciate you explaining this to people, LifeNoggin. Thank you.
I do have but i dont have too wear them too often since my hearing los isnt that big (but it gets worse if i dont wear it these damn things are annoying ;-;)
i’m currently learning ASL and i have a deaf teacher who has quickly become my favorite teacher and i consider him an inspiration and has helped me understand how different people in the Deaf community view their lack of hearing
I had a roommate who was deaf, I'm visually impaired. We made an interesting team. She was a deaf teacher & I learned a lot from her about the deaf community.
My art teacher was deaf. she taught us sign language. There was a test for her where we had to sign our names. THIS IS ART NOT ASL (american sign language). lol
Sign language is painting words into the air with your hands. It's not only a language but an art. Your teacher wanted to do her job; to teach children new things. - A Hard of Hearing person who's fluent in ASL
Hi! Im 26 years old. I have been slowly losing my hearing since I was a child due to head trauma and genetics. My cousin is also losing her hearing. We are learning sign together, so that when the day comes (and it will) we will be prepared. Hearing aid's have not helped either of us. We are expected to become fully deaf within the next decade. So far, the learning ASL has been a breeze, and things seem to make more sense in my head now when I can pair it with ASL. I encourage everyone, even those with no hearing problems, to learn ASL. It really will give you a new perspective on life and a way communicate when you cannot speak or hear at times.
This was very eye opening to me. Thanks for the video. This actually further hammers my point home that the anime film, Silent Voice, is not that good. I feel that the movie treats deafness as a disability. But according to your video, the deaf community doesnt think of it as a disability. Which I find awesome and inspiring.
This came up between me and my mum a couple days ago, we were watching this Christmas film, and at one point Santa does sign language to this girl, who at first I thought was mute because she wasn't speaking. When I mentioned that, mum said that she was deaf, and people who are deaf from birth are often mute because they never learn what the sounds are.
Coral Maynard or back in the old days they where taught by having the kids hand on the speakers throat or chest so they can hear how the vibrations work
Just learn from communication. I grown up with my hearing family. When I keeps talk a lot. They learn more about sign language. So yeah. Communication is easy to learn. But can be study.
Abubakr Siddiq well some of us go to deaf schools, or like I did I found videos online... we can turn on subtitles or get a hearing person to write down what they are saying
My brother was born deaf and I signed before I spoke. I feel kinda special because I got to live in both communities, the hearing, and the deaf. To be fair I was more or less an outsider in the deaf community, but was accepted enough that I got to see it. They forced my brother to learn SEE when I was young, so that is what I learned. ASL came many years later and my duel citizenship in the two cultures made it less necessary and more difficult to pick it up. My brother was my best friend as a child and I still love to hang with him today. We kinda came up with our own language, and I'm still the only one who knows what he is saying just by hearing him speak.

Hey Blocko, I take an American Sign Language class on Zoom on Tuesday afternoons with my friend who takes turns teaching it with another person from an agency that I'm not revealing the name of to you online. I like it, but I'm glad that I'm not deaf at all. I'm more of the hearing type. Who knows? I have friends who are deaf, but still talk like everyone else does. No, I'm not part of the deaf community.
Someone in my school is deaf. She has a cochlear implant. I talked to her one time she could barely hear me. So I kept on having to speak up. She was actually really cool!!
ASL (American Sign Language): Yeah 😂, I will respond. (D)eaf: Since birth, Deaf community/ culture, and use sign language. (d)eaf: hearing loss Faq- Why did you add ASL (American Sign Language): ? Because I speak in sign language and I'm Deaf 🤟🏾.

Question: Can deaf people hear things in their heads? Or in their dreams?
No, unless they can still hear. Some people can hear, but not well at all. Most deaf people think and dream in sign language. Hope this helps!
You can’t dream about something you never saw, like someone or a place, the same happens to deaf people

This is great! The deaf community will love this when they hear it!
Feels like watching a video in another language with subtitles that makes no sense
You've gotten me interested in this type of stuff. But I've got a big question: I've seen videos talking about people who are blind and now I've seen one about people who are deaf, but what about people who can't smell? Is that something that can happen? How can it affect someone?
Now you know right? With covid around? Besides all types of lost things on your body will affect differently, just don’t compare.
Lock yourself in very silent room, this is how deaf people live everyday.
When you realize that even if you're deaf you can watch Anime sub...W
Hell yeah
Press the mute button
Boom that"s what it's like to be deaf.
Wtf
umm.... we are not computers _yet_ ....
Toffie Original I dont know why this made me laugh 😂
Dank sordo parlare
Aww, that’s really sweet of you using closed captions for deaf or hard-hearing people. And I’m deaf too.
What's next? What Is It Like To Be Blind?
You see nothing, not just black, or just white, just, nothing at all.
Lucky Banana I can’t imagine that... It’s so weird thinking of nothing
SabNik 3001 Ikr I have no idea how they live like that, it must be very difficult and it will take a really long time to get used to. I feel bad for people who are Deaf, Blind and can't speak. ;-;
Frag Kampit I already heard of that theory with the colours. It’s interesting
My Godmother is deaf and my uncle and two friends are hard of hearing. 💕
I took a few sign language classes in college and loved it. Thanks for helping get the word out.
I don’t know why, but my mind immediately went to the quote “I am become deaf, destroyer of worlds”
I really feel bad for Deaf people who can't listen to amazing music.
keynan martinez not anybody. I am deaf. I have a cochlear implant. I can hear anything! Even with amazing music
Kallie Ruggieri new too
Why is no one taking this seriously? I was expecting to see people commenting with their experience being deaf or something, not making weak jokes! Shame on you people. Also, I am partially deaf, and I appreciate you explaining this to people, LifeNoggin. Thank you.
*ZERO DEAFS*
Who else got an ad for hearing aids
I actually did. (I'm hard of hearing and have hearing aids tho)
Guyonutube me
I do have but i dont have too wear them too often since my hearing los isnt that big (but it gets worse if i dont wear it these damn things are annoying ;-;)
i’m currently learning ASL and i have a deaf teacher who has quickly become my favorite teacher and i consider him an inspiration and has helped me understand how different people in the Deaf community view their lack of hearing
thanks for the video but i want to point out that in 1:40 the arabic text was reversed
So that's why my brain broke trying to read it... I wish ytbers use different fonts for languages not supported in their normal font
Could you do what would happen if you held and released your breath for the rest of your life
Royal the one you would be sent to a magical land full of penguins and cringey minecraft players sailing on free gift cards
Royal the one wat?
I had a roommate who was deaf, I'm visually impaired. We made an interesting team. She was a deaf teacher & I learned a lot from her about the deaf community.
What?
I'm a horrible person now, aren't I?
Seth Person What! What did you say?
...That took me just a moment before hitting me like a pile of bricks. MAH GAWSH.
Nah I’m deaf and I approve
Yep.
Little bit...
Hey can you please make a video on "what will happen if there was no nasa" please
Well if there is no nasa we won't learn every planet or if there is no nasa maybe there will be replacement
How do deaf people learn to pronounce something since they have never heard anyone speaking..?
Not everyone is born deaf, so they learn how to pronounce some things.
Most deaf people those days get hearing aids or choclear aids.
Khizar Ansari vibrations, looking at lip movements, etc
Become deaf after learning to speak, it can happen
This was very eye opening to me. Thanks for the video. This actually further hammers my point home that the anime film, Silent Voice, is not that good.
I feel that the movie treats deafness as a disability. But according to your video, the deaf community doesnt think of it as a disability. Which I find awesome and inspiring.
I'm thinking about how do they learn how to pronounce letters and words in together if they've never heard of anything?
Yea how do they do that illuminati confirmed
This came up between me and my mum a couple days ago, we were watching this Christmas film, and at one point Santa does sign language to this girl, who at first I thought was mute because she wasn't speaking. When I mentioned that, mum said that she was deaf, and people who are deaf from birth are often mute because they never learn what the sounds are.
Coral Maynard ohhhh ok
Coral Maynard or back in the old days they where taught by having the kids hand on the speakers throat or chest so they can hear how the vibrations work
That is so interesting, why don't they do that now?
How can deaf learn a language?
Abubakr Siddiq I'm Deaf myself. We study and practice a language.
Abubakr Siddiq we young and we deaf wa faster learn
They can learn language by using language book
I hope he can hear her own voice because its so nice and comforting

My brother was born deaf and I signed before I spoke. I feel kinda special because I got to live in both communities, the hearing, and the deaf. To be fair I was more or less an outsider in the deaf community, but was accepted enough that I got to see it. They forced my brother to learn SEE when I was young, so that is what I learned. ASL came many years later and my duel citizenship in the two cultures made it less necessary and more difficult to pick it up. My brother was my best friend as a child and I still love to hang with him today. We kinda came up with our own language, and I'm still the only one who knows what he is saying just by hearing him speak.
why doesn't our stomach acid burn through our body

Hey Blocko, I take an American Sign Language class on Zoom on Tuesday afternoons with my friend who takes turns teaching it with another person from an agency that I'm not revealing the name of to you online. I like it, but I'm glad that I'm not deaf at all. I'm more of the hearing type. Who knows? I have friends who are deaf, but still talk like everyone else does. No, I'm not part of the deaf community.
Life Noggin, you make very interesting videos...hard to ignore a notification
Someone in my school is deaf. She has a cochlear implant. I talked to her one time she could barely hear me. So I kept on having to speak up. She was actually really cool!!
Thank you guys
Saw an ad for hearing aid equipment at beginning of the video lol
My best friend who was hard of hearing is now deaf. She’s incredibly sad. I too am hard of hearing. I feel so sorry for her.
I myself am hard of hearing and learning sign language at the age of 14 and I think this video explains a lot to people thank you for posting
You're deaf?
When you ask a deaf person how it feels to be deaf and they respond lol
ASL (American Sign Language): Yeah 😂, I will respond.
(D)eaf: Since birth, Deaf community/ culture, and use sign language.
(d)eaf: hearing loss
Faq- Why did you add ASL (American Sign Language): ? Because I speak in sign language and I'm Deaf 🤟🏾.
Some people have technology as well so they can hear like a person without deafness
Great video!
