    ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ THIS EPISODE ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣
This episode brings us to a major milestone - our 50th state! Kansas was one state that we had never visited or even driven through. We got a little confused going through Kansas City since half of it is in Missouri and the other half is in Kansas! Did you know that?
After researching more about Kansas City and its bizarre split between 2 states, we headed to stay with some of our FOS Crew Members outside of Topeka giving us the perfect spot to be able to check out Kansas’ capital city!
We found out that Topeka has one of the best state capital buildings in the US with a special gem of an experience right inside. Touring the building and parking at the Topeka State Capital Building is free as is the guided tour up into the dome. This was an insane urban hike we will never forget!
On our way out of Topeka, we got to stop for dinner and meet up with more FOS Crew Members and were treated to an incredible sunset as we headed off for more hidden gems in this amazing state!
Stay tuned for the next episode where we head to Lake Scott State Park and explore Monument Rock in the middle of nowhere Kansas! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!

I do long term photography projects. I have found that BOMBING THROUGH is the worse thing to do. The best part, the best thing, is hanging with locals long term and learning about their culture, history and lives. Good luck slowing down a bit.

    • @FindingOurSomeday

We don't always bomb through, but sometimes there are time constraints, so we can't aways stay for long periods. We have many times stayed in places for a while and totally agree that it is always best to connect with locals. We also know that when we leave a place we really love, we can always got back and know what we want to delve into next time!

The Kansas capital building is now on our “to see & do” list! I got queasy following you down those stairs from the cupola!
Showed Hubs the Big River Forge site & it is also on our list! He’s always wanted to make a knife, so when you did it I knew he’d have to see it.
Congrats on hitting 50 states! Now your next challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to do the same with all Canadian provinces & territories. You’ve knocked off one territory & 2 provinces so you have a good start! Have you ever popped up to New Brunswick to see the Bay of Fundy’s tides?

My wife and I are both retired now. We spent last Oct. going on a month long trip around the east side of the country. We started from Cartersville, GA. Went up thru Tenn. up Niagara Falls. Got stuck in OHIO for a week because we did not know there was so much to see. Only planned on 3 days in Ohio. Good thing we were going Nomad as my bride ( yes, after 34 yrs. she is still my bride and will always be ) says we are traveling like. We start the day with a spot in mind, but she got so good at finding spots to see we never new where we would end up that night. She also got great a finding places ( hotels ) to stay on the fly when we were on the road and look at each other and said, think we need to find a place for the night. Her best find was at Philly. She got us a 4 star hotel 1 block from Liberty Hall and the Liberty Bell for Less than $150 a night, on the weekend. Best trip of our lives. Only problem we wanted to go to Maine while we were in New Hampshire. Peak fall season and every hotel within 100 miles was $500.00 a night, but they were all booked. Sorry we missed your state, would have loved to see Arcadia. In 1 month we went 4005 miles, I think 13 states and I have not counted the park stamps we got. BEST TRIP OF OUR LIFE !!! I owe a lot of that to you for inspiring us for that trip. Your photography and views are so far and above ever thing else I see for RV channels is unreal. You are amazing on your video skills !!!!! Our next run is middle of the country and 2 yrs. from now out west. Thanks for showing someone who does not RV where to go and MOST of all showing us how beautiful it is.
Sorry I got long winded, but I wanted you to know RV'ers are not the only people you impact. SAFE TRAVELS MY FRIENDS !!!!!!
Have to say again Corey, I have seen a boat load of sites on you tube of places to see. I always want to see yours because you always make them so breathtaking. As the saying goes. YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO COME HOME TO PAPA !!!!!!
Love all of you. Safe travels my friends !!!!!!
One the most surprising stops on our trip when my lovely wife said, we are close to Mark Twain's house in Hartford, Connecticut. Why don't we stop and see it. I rolled my eyes and just said OK. One of the most Pissed in my pants stops we had. So Beautiful. If you love history like we do. try and see it. It is downtown so you will not be able to go with your RV. But if you can, try and see it. Beautiful home and you get to see the spot in his home where he wrote most of his most famous works.
MORO Rock, Sequoia Natl. Park. What can you say but DDDDAAAAAMMMMNNNN !!!!!!!
That trip up into the dome was so cool. You asked about building the stairs. As a retired union ironworker, that is the kind of thing I would do. Yes, even today that would be a tough job. But what a trip, right? Wonderful view.
This is why we love your channel so much, you love history. We love history. I follow 3 RV channels mainly to see the sites around the country. You are # 1 every time. WOW !!!!!!! Again safe travels !!! If I keep editing this you will never read it. Think I went past 1 comment.
I forgot I live 20 miles from Rome, GA. where your ( father ? ) has or relative has a coach business ? If you need to restock, I coupon and have product to do so with. Paper products, feminine products, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, first aid, hair products, food, drink, cereal, etc. You are welcome to it to restock. Don't worry, I buy all this stuff for less than a dollar per product. Sometimes I make money on it.

If you haven’t done so, you should go to the Library of Congress in DC if you’re ever in the area. It is where the scene from National Treasure was actually filmed. The library itself looks like a miniature palace because everything is marble. Unfortunately, the location of the actual reading room where the movie was filmed is closed to visitors, but you can easily see it through the windows.
The Kansas capital was amazing. It’s hard to believe what people were able to do so long ago! The basement of the building is far nicer than the US capital. Thanks for sharing!

Oh I love this video! Lived my entire life in Kansas. Went to grade school field trip to the Capitol building. Served as a page there once in high school. Our daughter and her hubby and kids have lived in Topeka for 24 years and we have spent so much time there that it's like a second hometown for us. HOWEVER we have never climbed to the top of the dome at that truly beautiful capitol building! Holy cow after watching y'all do the climb it felt like I was there with you. I had no idea what that staircase looked like. That was spectacular footage. Thank you! And Lake Scott is one of our favorites. Can't wait to see what all you visit in often maligned Western Kansas. New River gorge in WV has the kaymoor mine trail which has over 800 stairs to get down to the abandoned mine. But you have to climb the same stairs to get back to the trail. Amazing experience!

That was a beautiful dome. Crazy that it is a dome inside another dome. I find the older I get the more things like those steps wig me out so not sure I could have come back down those when I would have had no issues earlier in life. Thanks for climbing them so I don't have to be "rescued" off of them. I wonder how often that happens. Thanks for taking us along.

It doesn't sound like it happens often because there are ways for you to be done with the tour at least 4 times on your way up. You know quickly if it is something you want to keep doing or if you are done! Thank sos much for watching and joining us to the top!

The Kansas Capital is wonderful. I spent 4 yrs stationed at Ft Leavenworth working at the military prison. With my schedule I never had time to travel. Just a heads up, I am feeling poorly right now and when you went up the stairs, I had to close my eyes. I almost emptied my stomach and my nerves jangled up and I felt like I had grabbed 220 volt line shaking so bad. I can handle 110 but 220 when I was in Europe is a whole different game. I don't like heights. It's crazy that I can go across the Mackinaw but stairs and ladders....
