That’s why I’m playing a sith warrior with honor atm I follow the dark side but not a full sociopath but at that moment he repents and starts following the light eventually siding with Jedi in dlc clips I’ve seen
I play mine as a cool and aloof guy. He is superior to everyone else because he is Sith, but he doesn't hold it against everyone else for not being Sith. He doesn't bother with the overly emotional crap because it takes energy to get worked up and makes controlling power harder, so it just seems pointless and self-defeating. It helps that his voice is pretty chill.

I haven't played this game (as much as I'd like to) but as someone who has mostly just watched the movies and shows, it's refreshing seeing Jedi and Sith actually able to talk to each other without immediately trying to kill each other.
There is another encounter with a fully fledged jedi master on a prison planet. If you are a lightside and very patient sith warrior he will leave you as a friend and share his experience with the order. Later on you receive a friendly mail from him.
Well, Inquisitors are basically the '' SS '' of the Sith's. They are not out there to argue, but to literally exterminate. The Warrior is basically the Military Army branch.
The warrior is also spoon fed opportunity after opportunity, he is basically Fon, he is pushed ahead of his normal trials and only survives Baras because he is stronger than his rival otherwise Baras would of killed him. Unlike the inquisitor the warrior actually learns a thing or two from his master and it alludes to prior training before Tremel brings you to Korriban, the inquisitor is literally a newbie fresh out of slavery and knows 0 about how to be a sith, his master doesn't actually teach him anything because she only sees him as a host, Zash only starts really trying to teach him anything after being trapped. The inquisitor has to claw is way up from nothing to become one of the most powerful sith, their story more alludes to them becoming a Palpatine like figure as they gain more knowledge and power
Light side Sith: "Denounce the Jedi! Embrace the Dark Side!" I would have said "I have found more strength in the light. Return to the Order and reflect on this failure. In time, you will understand the lessons it has taught you." but alas, such an option is never given to us. An oversight by BioWare in regards to purely-light side Sith Warrior characters, I imagine.
Yeah, a shame the scene lets you start it one way but forces you to end it this way. I've not played the game, and don't know the lore behind what a pure blood Sith is, but it'd be a really interesting story to see told fully. Following someone raised in Sith ideals and philosophy, who instead goes on to not only be a paragon of the light, but school and positively influence the Jedi order on how to better follow it, despite facing persecution.
Pureblood Sith are an alien species that are, ironically hybrids of the original alien sith species which were naturally gifted in the dark side and human Jedi who fell to the dark side. Much of Sith culture came from the purebloods even long after they went extinct at the hands of the Jedi.
I think they didn't bother going down that road because true light side sith are too often rejected and killed by the Sith order. A proper light side sith is one who actually cares for the empire and seeks to do what's right for it, but will absolutely get his hands dirty to make it happen if that's what it takes. A true light side sith is largely based in Machiavellian philosophy of good and evil not being black and white, but rather dependent on the outcome. Consider, for example Darth Marr, he is absolutely a dedicated sith, but always seeks what's best for the empire above his own selfishness, unlike most sith.
But doesn't that make more sense in terms of Sith ideology? Trickery and deceit is of the sith, so it makes sense that sith would appear to be light when it suits their needs. Like good palps.
@@KarmasAB123 Ah, I see your point. I had initially wrongly assumed that you meant somethimg along the lines of 'moral sith', which...Let me just say that I find the notion of 'moral sith' disturbing.
@@ilke3192 but why couldn't you be a moral sith? yeah, the kind of sith you see in the main movies are evil selfish pricks; but the teachings of the dark side are all about embracing emotions and using your power. No one ever said you couldn't use that power for 'morally good' things. and honestly the Jedi aren't very 'moral' either. Stealing children and teaching them their every emotion is only a tool at best but most times is a dangerous enemy to be quashed. and if their handling of anakin is any indication they certainly dont believe in actually teaching them HOW to quash that dangerous emotion.
to be fair a light side sith shows that misconception that one must be a evil monster to be a sith when in reality at its core ideal it simply means a force user who takes power in and indulges there emotions its up to the user and there self controll of what emotions are used and how much controll over them you have
Well earlier in the game you are exposed to the teachings of an old sith. These teachings is that the sith don’t need to be evil. Sith only really need to embrace passion and their inner emotions. Whereas jedi endorse the lack of emotions and passion, and more of a logic based teachings. I wish there was a way to play as not an evil sith, but a passionate one. As well if there was a special way to endorse these teachings to others. Honestly is the sith lived more like that, they would have a balanced society, but they let their passions overrun them and we get the empire. That’s why I love ambiguous force users, and I think the term is grey jedi, they are basically normal people who would not conform to any normality of either teachings.
You would have to have a pretty strong will to avoid being seduced by the power of the dark side, theres. A reason the Jedi strip emotion. Imagine having all that power and losing your temper. This is why Yoda says those thing lead to .the dark side. Like really really imagine if you yourself just gained that power, it would give you a new sense of confidence, you wouldn't suffer fools. I personally think mediation and basically calming down the ego that would come with power is better than having it fuel your passions. But that's only my opinion.
The dark side is it's own drug, some just have more decorum than others to not give into impulse. There's a reason a grey Jedi doesn't exist, because it's against the dichotomy of the Force. The ones that do are either exiled, by others or themselves, so as to avoid entanglements in the rest of the universe, or they eventually see themselves fully embrace the dark side. The universe simply won't allow it, at least not for very long.
@@christopherclough559 the best method which is kind shown in SWTOR light sith paths is to combine the mantra of the jedi and sith use your emotions but temper them with logic and discpline and training basically do not be a warlord like a syth or a reluctant monk forced to fight like the jedi but be like a knight striving for the best while tempering onesself like a blade
@@ArcNine9Angel there are plenty of grey force users they just arnt united like the sith and jedi many sith and jedi were grey force users such as mace windu who used a grey technquie were he channeled his dark emotions then tempered them with the lightside to make him a better fighter and empower his lightsaber technquies. Yoda also could use such gray technquies as he discoverd the truth of the force threw a anicent ritual on his home world were he fought his inner darkness made real realizing the only way to stop it was to ACCEPT IT as part of himself and so the true nature of the force not light not dark but both in equalibrium or unity.
This is one of the most perfect moments in SWTOR to show the unique nature of the time, where some sith will not kill needlessly, and some jedi hunt sith like bounty hunters not caring the story just that the sith is dead
I always play LS Sith, Warrior and Inquisitor. Sith draw power from their emotions...I just use the positive ones. Love, compassion, hope, curiosity, happiness.
@@JDSleeper And the irony? The Jedi reject those while giving them lip service! You know their code: There is no emotion. As for your Light Sith plays, got any videos or playlists? I wanna see everything you've got!
@@JDSleeper I always got more of a "disgruntled middle-ranking officer" vibe from the LS Sith Warrior. Like he's obviously not "Good" just because he LS, he's still against democracy, still believes in the Empire, and his "Merciful" dialogue still usually only boils down to giving the enemy a polite warning to choose peace before killing them for not listening. So... Not "good", but definitely a breath of fresh air. Like the LS Sith is grumpy, angry, and has authority issues out the ass, definitely lacks the temperament of a Jedi, but where a LS Jedi is like some mythologized Knight holding the line, predominantly restrained and on the defensive, a LS Sith is more of an "Impassioned Crusader" mythologized. Genuinely well-meaning and well-intentioned, honorable and more than fair, but aggressive and on the front lines waging war for whatever cause riled up said passion and not taking anyone's shit.
@@JDSleeper I agree and also negative emotions like anger can be a weapon, if you can control it. Otherwise you can get lost in it. True power of any weapon comes from the heart but only if it is controlled by the mind. And the Sith is a weapon.
@@jeronimomartinezcalsina7690 I mean it makes sense, when people say "balance" is between the Jedi and Sith they don't mean some genocide and some good deeds, they mean using your emotions when necessary, and holding yourself back when you feel yourself going too far.
What's funny is that the sith avoided confrontation and didn't even lie to get what he wants thus showing that you don't need a stupid cult to know true strength
I think a Light Side Sith is probably the most dangerous kind of person in terms of potential. Making your enemies confused and causing them to question themselves on a philosophical level is genius because it breaks down the lines. Ulden already showed how it can work; due to the Sith’s unorthodox amicable attitude and non-violent approach, yet still being undeniably Sith, confused him enough that he refused to fight and walked away. Now Ulden will probably go away pondering the encounter and having to reassess what he thinks he knows, which could possibly leading to more Jedi doing the same.
The most likely wisdom he would be given is, a Sith like that is still someone who could potentially denounce the Dark Side and return/turn to the Light Side which means not provoking them into going down a path of darkness by fighting when they don't care for it is the optimal choice
Also it twists the logic and reason a Lightsider normally have and for a padawan, that is often the easiest mistake they make. Either poisonous sense of guilt for letting the villain get away that will cloud their ability to fight in a future encounter and drive them to "do the right thing" and get cut down by someone more experience than they are.
It is really funny because the Jedi are like "Stand down, you filth!" and the player is just like "Ok! I have no need to fight." and the Jedi are just left confused because they really thought they were about to see some action.
Correct. The Jedi are not soldiers and their principles break down when forced into that position. Genuinely confused why the fandom has such a hard time grasping something so blatant
I wish there was an option to invoke the light side during the final dialogue. "Is there such power in the dark side?" "I wouldn't know, I've only ever embraced the light."
I'm confused by the amount of comments saying this. You literally pick a sith in the beginning, so it would make no sense contextually to add that to the game.
@@rd22.rd22 The "sides" of the force are just methods of usage, the force is an energy field at the end of things. Strong emotions are just, well, LITERALLY stronger (ie Adrenaline for instance when in great pain) than no emotion, so generally sith are stronger.
This is an RPG. Light Side force users have, in theory, a separate set of abilities they can use. In practice they function pretty much identically for balance purposes. But playing as a Sith Warrior you are absolutely wielding the Dark side of the Force. The abilities displayed in the vid are evidence.

Nothing like a Sith using the light side to convert a jedi into a Dark Jedi, or better yet, a Sith. You know personally I think that being sith dosen't mean being evil and murderhobo everything you came across. For me it means kill who activly try to oppose you or that would be a threat for you in the future or convert to the dark side.
Darth bane is good in this thema. He teach his apprantice, that you should only kill a person, when this lead to a profit for you. A useless person now, can become usefull in the future.
@@grimlord3181 Well yeah in general canon. But one can argue being a "grey jedi" is being a sith. To understand one's emotions and not limit them. However most become drunk off the fact that the dark side gives them so much power. But a sith with temperance is much more dangerous in the long term than a psychopath.
The Canon is that what defines the Dark side id is selfishness and defying the will of the force for the sake of personal power vs the jedi who are meant to listen to and follow the will of the force even if it means separating themselves from their humanity. If you determine the will of the force to be the greater good than Jedi are good guys and sith are bad. If you don't than honestly both sides taken to extremes suck and true good would be somewhere in the middle. Capable of working for the good of more than oneself without losing oneself or your ability to form attachments with others(something both sides oddly agree on destroying). Thus is why the concept of a "gray jedi" is so appealing to people.

I agree. and with SW dark side choice actually make you play as a braindead waagh berserk who should NOT have survived up to this point. Because of how much evidence of his actions he leaves and how unsubtle he is. He would get executed by any high ranking sith....
thats mostly because while the sith and jedi code actually come across as ideals to be followed, dark and light side are presented as moral extreems; and we tend to think of the ultimate evil as someone who selfishly and indecriminately throws away lives because 'lol that was badass'; and not the long game of slowly gaslighting and emotionally starving small children so that one day they fanatically follow your every word - I mean...
the "canons" for the characters does show that the canon light side sith warrior as just that someone who was brilliant and powerfull yet more noble and compassionate then any sith before him Lord Wrath ironically was very unlikely to be blindidly wrathfull

Yawn* bzzzt
inquisitors be like: ha ha Lightning go brrrrrr

@@hiddio my social skills in a nutshell.
I hate how you can try to persuade them that you're light side, but when they lose, you suddenly can only promote Sith tradition.
But doesn't that make more sense in terms of Sith ideology? Trickery and deceit is of the sith, so it makes sense that sith would appear to be light when it suits their needs. Like good palps.
@@ilke3192 But it doesn't let play an honest sith. Like maybe I'm actually a good guy, or maybe I'm a honest trickster, the most devious of all :D
Yes the close thing we get to that on film is Luke in return of the Jedi
No look at Disney that Luke was not luke anymore

I like to imagine DS is much more impactful and meaningful thing and Sith are calculated and smart.
I agree. and with SW dark side choice actually make you play as a braindead waagh berserk who should NOT have survived up to this point.
Playing a LS Sith Inquisitor was a blast too. When you get your seat on the Dark Council, they can tell there is something "different" about you but respect your power.
A sith is lecturing a Jedi about the light side... I LOVE IT!
jedi: visibly upset
sith: "yes, yes good goooooood let the anger consume you"
Yet more proof that Jedi rather fight then talk to their enemies. At least one was confused so hard to not fight.
I never realized the alliteration Zylixx had: "I have no crisis of conscience assuming his assessment is sound"
Reminds me of how in KOTOR 2 you can gain absolutely zero dark side points, but if you side with the rebels on Onderon, you immediately get the dark side ending path lol
turned a 2v2 into a 2v1 and planted the seed of doubt within a potential new recruit. The Sith would applaud this action
Turning a rash fool to the dark side is so much more twisted than just simply killing them and is proper for a Sith, even if you don't get those delicious dark side points. Really wouldn't this just eventually net you more in the long run?
Yeah wait, why is the only Dark option killing the idiot? It's way way way more Sith to actively turn them.
Playing a light Sith is so much fun. You just confuse everyone
Jedi: Light?
Sith: Darkness.
Sith: Light.
Jedi: Light?
Jedi: Darkness.
Me: Chaos.
CHAOS WILL CONSUME ALL!!!
Now THAT is how you turn a Jedi; kill them with kindness
Light and Dark, Jedi and Sith, it's too arbitrary. The all-time greats always defy such definitions.
