    Awesome video. Looks so simple to make these! I'm going to try making a few this weekend. Poplar can look beautiful if you select boards without the green coloring.

    Those do look very MCM! I think they would suit a minimalist decor too. Nice job, Nils!

    love it, other tutorials require way more tools. This design you can basically du with a regular saw and a chisel.

    Nice beginner woodwork project… but, those glue joints make me nervous. Any end-grain glue joint is week, being notched in will help so glad you include that.

    I really like the design but I believe I will modify it a little. I did one that looks like a small stool but I would like to try this design on a smaller scale. Thanks for the video.

      INSANELY overpriced! A medium sized stand (just in between the two sizes he made) is $25+ at the cheapest! He made his much larger stand for only $9!

    • @LRN2DIY
      @LRN2DIY 3 года назад +2

      Yeah, definitely poplar. We selected some boards that were lighter and had no green since my wife wanted lighter wood. I think Pine or Douglas fir could work just fine too.

    Do you have another version of this where a person doesn't have to use a saw? I know people can get wood cut for them at hardware stores. I have a drill and hardware, but I don't have a saw and don't want one. I also have a sander and a Dremel.

    • @kare6878
      @kare6878 3 года назад

      What if you went to your local dollar store and got a hand saw? Then just sand the edges if they not perfect.

      A lot of people thing they're really expensive but the basic ones are really budget-friendly. $29.99 at Harbor Freight or $38 at Home Depot for the least expensive ones. If it's within you budget, I think everyone should own a circular saw and a drill. You can do a ton with those two tools.
