I viscerally remember when I discovered MUNA back in 2016 when they opened for Grouplove at the Hollywood Palladium. I was comforted by their set that I immediately went to their merch table, bought one of everything that they had, and didn’t shut up about how amazing they were even after Grouplove started their set. Since then, they’ve been such an integral part of my life’s journey. Through all the triumphs and failures, the process of accepting myself and coming out, the relationships that have and haven’t worked out, MUNA’s art has been there. From “About U” (still one of my favorite albums of ALL time), to saving the world, to becoming the world’s greatest podcaster, and so so much more…now this. The moment of the three of them on top of the car in the rain as the chorus crescendos made me sob. It felt like the release of years of pent-up anxieties, love, pain and joy in a moment of pure bliss. It’s giving hold the people that you love most in this world as you dance in the street! It’s giving the world is fucked up, but we’ll fight, love, and find joy in it no matter what! Thank you MUNA for always inspiring me to hope! I can’t wait to see the heights that you soar to next❤
