For what I wanted to do I loved it! It was my 12th year (overall including my attendance in Baltimore prior to it moving to DC, i.e. 2009-2016 in Baltimore and now 2017-2022 (sans 2020 ofc) in DC. People always complain that it's boring/there's nothing to do... yeah okay... Nothing you FIND to do. You just gotta look around on the schedule and there's almost a guarantee that there's something you'll enjoy attending and doing. There's a reason why I've been coming back for my 12th consecutive year!
@@StormBreaker_3000 Yes yes it is... It's nowhere near as huge as the likes of Anime Expo or DragonCon, but it's pretty big. It was once (and I think now again) the largest anime convention on the East Coast. I think a close second would be Anime Boston. They've both been similar in size for many years.
My favorite part of Otakon was seeing all of the amazing cosplayers and you did such a great job capturing them as well as the atmosphere of Otakon #ventureon
Me and my friends went to this year’s Otakon and we had a great time! We dressed as characters from Demon Slayer and actually saw some of the earlier cosplays that were shown.
This is my first time at Otakon since 2016 when they left Baltimore! Despite a lot of flaws this year I had fun! I go because I love the energy from people and Otakon is one of the original anime cons that has the early 90s anime feel when it was still small!
I concur! It does have an old school feel even today (at least for me) and it's run really well most of the time. This year we got a million ppl likely due to the kpop concert, but otherwise in my now 12 years attending, it's never been this crazy, well besides 2013 in Baltimore when Yoko Kano was there, but yeah.
@@ShiggitayMediaProductions I'm sure they really are going go look at the pros and cons this year and take note of the pros and cons. I never did fill out the feedback section in previous years but I had a lot to say because I know they can do better! And I know they will in 2023!
Dude!! You did such a good job with this video- It really captures the whole feeling of Otakon, from the dealers/gaming/artist alley to cosplayers and just the venue in general!! Great job and awesome video!! And thanks so much for filing us to be in it and being patient as we got the perfect shot 💕 you were seriously such a fun person to film with and had such a great energy!! Keep up the amazing work, I cant wait to watch more of your videos in the future!!! #ventureon !
@@VentureOnMedia There is no way I can choose a favorite video- all of them are so good. I’m actually going to my first anime con next month! Super hyped. I hope you have fun on your next one!
My friends and I were at this con, with it also being my second con ever. It was an absolute blast, and I loved seeing the people coming out, dressing up, and having an amazing time! Can't wait for next year!!!
Great job with filming. I work in dc so I like to walk past the convention center and look at the cosplayers on my break. I haven’t been otakon in years since I watch very like anime anymore but I still enjoy the fandom and it brings back memories.
Great video man! Otakon was insane this year! This video is honestly super inspirational for my future con vlogs, it was so well produced with so many amazing cosplays! Great Job!
I appreciate the kind words!! I am happy to be of inspiration for you haha I just enjoy creating videos and really try to give people the best experience while watching them! 😄
This was incredible! It was my first Otakon I loved it! I have to ask? What camera did you use? And did you use a ronin? I have to up my quality after seeing this!
#VentureOn. My favorite part of Otakon was being able to play the true version Hatsune Miku Project Diva ARCADE Future Tone in the video gaming hall/game room. I have its ports on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, but it's always fun playing the real version on actual arcade hardware. I have an arcade controller replica called the DVALLER at home, but that's besides the point. I sadly didn't make it into the Dealer's Room/Hall cuz of the damn crowds, but I love being at Otakon because it was my 2nd ever con back in 2009, and it means a lot to me! Oh and I loved being recognized and photo'd as my Miroku the monk from the anime InuYasha! Thanks for this video! I subbed and rang that bell!
I’ve never played that before but sounds like fun!! Yes you’re right though, the lines to get in were pretty crazy at times! Glad to hear you had a great experience though! 🙌🏻
@@VentureOnMedia Project Diva is a ryhthm game akin to DDR where you line up moving objects on screen to the beat/rhythm of a song. The main difference of course is you use your hands vs your feet when you play DDR lol.
#VentureOn Wish I could've gone this year. Apparently there was a Ryoko Hakubi from Tenchi Muyo. I would've died from shock if I had seen them. Maybe next year I'll get to go.
The autograph lines sucked, the crowds were immense, and the guests were sparse. Dealer's room was sparse too. Regardless it was a fun time. Next time I won't go to the autograph lines 😅
What did you think about Otakon?? 😎
