CC382. Clinical Tips CIII FS

Abstract
In Class III deep bite cases, it is very helpful to differentiate them by Dr. John Lin’s three rings of Class III diagnosis. When patients were diagnosed in Class III malocclusion with functional shift, both cephalometric radiographs of C.O and C.R position should be taken.
Extraction or non-extraction is depended on if there was enough space for retraction. Bite turbos and early light short elastics could help early improvement of anterior cross bite. Buccal shelf bony screws are effective in retracting whole mandibular dentition to correct Class III malocclusion.

對於第三類咬合深咬的患者而言，我們可以藉林錦榮醫師診斷第三類咬合不正的三個項目來幫助鑑別診斷。當發現患者屬於咬合干擾類型時，則需拍攝2張側顱X光片，一個是C.O位置，一個是C.R位置。
拔不拔牙需評估是否有足夠空間讓牙齒往後移動，咬合墊高與早期力量較小的橡皮筋可以幫助改善早期前牙錯咬的情形。Buccal shelf 矯正骨釘可將整個下顎齒列往後位移，對於改善第三類咬合不正，是非常有效的方法。

Me too!
Now I have braces on my upper teeth only. He’ll try moving them a bit forward. If it works, he’ll place braces on my lower teeth.
He said if he puts braces on my lowers from the beginning my class 3 might appear even worse when the teeth are corrected.
So wants to make sure the upper teeth move forward enough first.
I’m still at the beginning so I can’t give you an honest review but they did move a little forward I think my front teeth can be fixed but not sure about my molars 😢

To change -6 torque to +6

Green is low torque for the facial movement direction of the root, and the red is high torque for the lingual movement of the tooth.when you turn it upside down, low torque become high torque. You use this technique when you do not have the other. In this class 3 case, you want to move the anterior the lower teeth to the back, so you want to force the roots into that direction following the crowns that why we want to use all high torque brackets.

@@qkpro09 : then do you want to move the lower anterior roots to hit the lingual cortical plate and maybe move these roots out of the lingual cortical plate : would it not be better to keep the apex of these lower anterior incisors stationary and move the crowns distally , as the lower teeth ( crown move lingually) you can place on the anterior arch wires active lingual crown torque , would be better ???
