My grandpa fought in the Vietnam war and saw combat. I have his U.S army canteen somewhere in my house. My mom was in the navy and was a translator using Morse code. She was stationed in Azores and served during the Gulf War. Thank you for making great content and keep up the good work!
I have a kid who is an American history expert at 10 years old. He has started making animations of WW2 battles! I can only imagine how you were when you were 10 and figure you and him have a lot in common! He loves your channel!
I liked the Korean War cause like you said, it’s forgotten. I love how you reused the marines from the pacific, that’s what I call creativity!!! ❤ Edit: Amazing I come home from a vacation and there’s a new daley vid!
I found the Vietnam War the most interesting. I had family members who served on both sides during the Civil War, as well as family members that served in WWII, Korea, & Vietnam. I am also a Veteran.
I liked your take on the War of 1812. My uncle fought in Iraq, my great grandfather fought on Guadalcanal in WWII and also fought the Korean War, my great great grandfather and his father fought in the same regiment in WWI, they were all Marines. One of my ancestors fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War, but died in 1862 and my older ancestor fought for the Spanish to help secure victory for the colonials in the American Revolution. On my dad's side, his father fought in South Korea but not during the war itself and my dad's uncle on his mother's side fought as a Marine in the Korean War, he was a radio transmitter who ran through the forest to inform other troops about incoming attacks. Lastly, my brother plans on joining the Marines and my mom's dad spent the first few years of his life in a military base in Panama, where his dad, the one in Guadalcanal, was stationed at.
16:41 it's not the right flag, frensh flag doesn't have the Lorraine's cross in WWI but in end of WWII, with the De Gaulle's governement ( PS : I'm frensh) Really good video, as always !
Line infantry wasn't outdated by 1776.. like.. at all. It was still common by the 1870s. Also by 1812, the british army was using grey pants and shako hats. And by the time the US joined ww1, the german army was using the m15 uniforms and m16 stahlhelm.

It was actually north Vietnam, a communist party that was aided by China or something, I'm not 100% sure. The Viet Cong were a major enemy the US fought, and the use of guerrilla warfare and traps demoralized the US troops. (I'm not 100% sure tho lol)
Did you also wonder how the small group of farmers got state of the art fighter jets? Superb training, tens of thousands of AK’s? If you said: The Soviet Union, you’d be correct.
They used tactics that American soldiers were not used to such as using tunnels set with traps or trapped doors cover with bamboo, also they used gorilla warfare with means they hid in villages and you could not tell who was bad or not. Very smart move
Yesterday I saw a reenactments of the battle of donostia with the Basque and british against the French the battle is now known as the battle of August the 31st
I find WW1,and WW2 the most interesting I have family members who fought in both also fought in Korean War, Vietnam war and war on terror i wish i could’ve completed bootcamp for the Marines but I got medically discharged in 2013
Quick correction, the Generation that fought in World War 1 is actually known as the Lost Generation as the Silent Generation is the name of the Generation that lived through the Great Depression & World War 2. The Silent Generation actually didn't really fight in many wars aside from the Korean War and a few of the later births of the Silent Generation would go on to fight in the Vietnam War.
I think the Mexican American War is really cool because it was like the training ground for most of the major generals and leaders of the American Civil War.
@@theawesomeunclechannel4881 Did he, because the battle of the Alamo was fought between the Country of Texas and Mexico. And Texas at that point was not part of the US so it was not really an American War.
One correction on the American Revolution; yes gorilla warfare was a strategy the some American forces used against the Redcoats, but for the most part battle was conducted in line formations just like the British.
The creek wars actually were going on at the same time as the war of 1812. Jackson got his start to farm during the battle of Horshoe Bend in 1814. Jackson left Alabama to march to New Orleans.
My Great-Grand uncle fought in Korea as a Marine and both of my Great-grandpa's fought in WW2, one in Europe as an ARmy officer, one in The Pacific as an enlisted Marine.
I have two great great grandfather who fought in the 1 world war as a cavalryman and a infantry and a grandfather who was a navigation pilot during the Korean and Vietnam war
My dad fought in the gulf war. He told stories of how the media kept talking about what was happening. Kinda revealing what the U.S. troops had planned. He survived by the way and was on the U.S. side!

In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans
We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
We looked down a river and we see'd the British come
And there must have been a hundred of 'em beatin' on the drum
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
We stood behind our cotton bales and didn't say a thing
We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
Old Hickory said, "We could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye"
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well
Then we opened up our squirrel guns and gave 'em
Well, we fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round
We filled his head with cannonballs 'n' powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind
We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
