Welcome to our new video, an offbeat destination nestled near Darjeeling called Kainjalia, in Yanku Valley.
We went to Kainjalia, an offbeat place close to Lamagaon and Bijanbari in the monsoon. It is an amazing place to spend a few days. We took a cab for ₹2500/- from Manedara, our homestay, The Maitri Retreat to Yanku Valley preferably called Kainjalia. There is only one homestay in this region known as Trouvaille farm stay. It is a wonderful property situated among the pine forest. Stay with 4 meals will cost ₹1500/- per person per night.

From trouvaille, one can travel to lamagaon, lodhama, bijanbari, Darjeeling,and manebhanjan. We stayed here for one night. The next day we took a morning share cab around 8:30 which would take us to Darjeeling. Kainjaliya to Darjeeling in a shared cab would cost you ₹300/-per person. There are no direct cars from Kainjalia to Siliguri. We had enough time in our hands so we decided to drop in Darjeeling to taste some delicious food.
On reaching Darjeeling we went to Glenary's and Keventers. We had a delicious food tour in Darjeeling. At around 1:30 p.m. we took a shared car car from Darjeeling taxi stand towards Siliguri Junction. The shared car charged us ₹250/-per head. As it was monsoon there were fewer tourists and no traffic jam. We reached Siliguri Junction within 3 and a half hours. After that we took a magic van for ₹40/- per head and reached New Jalpaiguri railway station.
As we wear early to reach the station, we took the VIP executive lounge by paying a small tariff. We waited here for 3 hours and finally our train 12344 Darjeeling mail arrived. The timing of Darjeeling mail in New Jalpaiguri railway station is around 7:45 pm.
