Rounds 5-10 were canelos rounds if you watch closely lara couldnt get away as much as he did in the earlier rounds because canelos body shots caught up to him. Round 11 was a comeback for lara and round 12 was for canelo close fight but the aggressor gets the edge. Plus lara was running alot

Do you count a body shot the same as a head shot? I don't because which takes more skill? I score a full point for a power shot to the head, a half point for a jab to the head and half point for a body shot. I agree body shots are important but usually to wear a guy down for late in the fight, and it doesn't take as much skill to hit the body.
@@MrMarco855 Judging by your comment, you probably never boxed before. I did and let me tell you that body shots are a harder trade to master. Not all fighters bring a great body game to the table. You run the risk of getting countered effectively by a good fighter so you have to balance how and when you dig to the body. Remember, body shots are power shots, when you use body shots in abundance like Canelo does they will always be given more attention by judges than jabs.

Well - its nice to know alot of people don't know boxing. You train not to get hit and to move around and get your combo's in when you can. Also Lara's foot work was very smooth and the way you beat a hard hitter is to get him to move and use his energy up. Also you put doubt in the guy you fighting by stick and move followed with solid defense. Mixing it up and staying in one place will get you knocked out - dangerous ! Lara's conditioning is good because to do it for 12 rounds is crazy.
Apparently you know less than you think...The sport originated with a "toe on the line" mentality and while the idea is to strike without being hit, it was to be done in a manner that also did not involve "running" from battle. Tyson fury was quoted: He loves to move and create angles like Ali & Mayweather. To use another fighters agression against hinself and always if you throwing punches you will more likely punch yourself out. Be efficient is what pro-boxers are taught from day one and if you are facing someone that is quicker or punches harder than you and better ( you must move and use strategies to frustrate the other boxer) You wait for the other fighter to make a mistake and you work a combo. People in audience were booing Lara because the last half of the fight he was running away from Canelo, Lara was afraid to get too close to Canelo. Canelo had to run around after Lara. When Lara was fresh at the start, he looked very good, but when he started feeling canelo's punches to the body he started SPRINTING out of harms way a looong distance after canelo connected downstairs, which I'm sure did't helped him with the judges who tend to perceive that kind of excesive sprinting as "running" or that he was hurting, close fight with a edge to Lara, but a draw should have been the correct result, Lara didnt' want to accept that for him to win in that kind of scenario he needed to close the deal with AT LEAST a knockdown, a prolonged one-round beatdown , or 2-3 rounds of CLEAR CUT power punching, for that he had to take a chance, he didn't and the result stays (fighters with his style usually don't have second chances in cases like this )

Do you count a body shot the same as a head shot? I don't because which takes more skill? I score a full point for a power shot to the head, a half point for a jab to the head and half point for a body shot. I agree body shots are important but usually to wear a guy down for late in the fight, and it doesn't take as much skill to hit the body.

You run the risk of getting countered effectively by a good fighter so you have to balance how and when you dig to the body. Remember, body shots are power shots, when you use body shots in abundance like Canelo does they will always be given more attention by judges than jabs.

Well - its nice to know alot of people don't know boxing. You train not to get hit and to move around and get your combo's in when you can. Also Lara's foot work was very smooth and the way you beat a hard hitter is to get him to move and use his energy up. Also you put doubt in the guy you fighting by stick and move followed with solid defense. Mixing it up and staying in one place will get you knocked out - dangerous ! Lara's conditioning is good because to do it for 12 rounds is crazy.

Apparently you know less than you think...The sport originated with a "toe on the line" mentality and while the idea is to strike without being hit, it was to be done in a manner that also did not involve "running" from battle. Ali- in his prime did that but when he started to take too many shots to the head caused his skills of (moving off line to avoid being hit) to slow and he was getting killed in the ring. Tyson fury was quoted: He loves to move and create angles like Ali & Mayweather. To use another fighters agression against hinself and always if you throwing punches you will more likely punch yourself out. Be efficient is what pro-boxers are taught from day one and if you are facing someone that is quicker or punches harder than you and better ( you must move and use strategies to frustrate the other boxer) You wait for the other fighter to make a mistake and you work a combo. Anyone can get knocked out, if you want to go blow to blow but a true fighter will run-stick-move & bob-weave and survive in the ring. Check your ego at the door or you will be waking up on the floor.

There are a few levels to boxing Lara displayed the use of your legs for defense plus he never stopped punching. This is what you do all that road work for...He also ducked alot, blocked alot and caught a lot of blows from Canelo. It was a good match up because it made both fighters work.

When Lara was fresh at the start, he looked very good, but when he started feeling canelo's punches to the body he started SPRINTING out of harms way a looong distance after canelo connected downstairs, which I'm sure did't helped him with the judges who tend to perceive that kind of excesive sprinting as "running" or that he was hurting, close fight with a edge to Lara, but a draw should have been the correct result, Lara didnt' want to accept that for him to win in that kind of scenario he needed to close the deal with AT LEAST a knockdown, a prolonged one-round beatdown , or 2-3 rounds of CLEAR CUT power punching, for that he had to take a chance, he didn't and the result stays (fighters with his style usually don't have second chances in cases like this )
