@@BrookeDoesEverything understood but why on earth are you galloping when you clearly aren’t ready too. Unless you have a SOLID ability to ride the walk trot canter correctly you shouldn’t be galloping. Doing things you aren’t ready for puts the horse in unnecessary discomfort (because of your ability or lack there of to ride) and you at danger
You are ABSOLUTELY NOT ready for a canter or a gallop. You need to start slow so you can build up your leg muscles and be able to maintain an independent seat. You need to be able to move with the horse. You are not the boss of your horse, you are the leader, and you are their partner. If you continue to slam on your horse’s back like this it can result in injury for you and the horse. You need to take a huge step back and start at step one. When you are strong and connected enough, that is when you are truly ready.
If you don't know how to walk, trot or canter properly... You DON'T need to be galloping. You're slamming into the horses back and your legs are up against the horse.
I respect how nice and thoughtful you’re being in these comments. As great as you did I do think it’s important for you to work on a trot and canter before doing anything like this. I’ve been riding for seven years so if you need any tips I can help if you need, I’ve ridden a lot of different horses :) happy riding, good luck in your journey!!
It’s sooo tempting to walk before you can run with horse riding, you just wanna go and have fun and do all the fast stuff, but it’s so important for you and your horse to learn the basics first, master the walk & trot and then master a good collected canter - your seat is so important as it helps avoid back issues with your horse. It looks like you had fun though! Just a thought I wanted to share as it takes a village in the horse world, you’ll always learn from someone 🤍 Also, there’s some amazing instructors that do free lessons on RUclips, I’d highly recommend. I listen to them whilst I’m riding & video myself riding so I can go back & identify mistakes or good points to build on. I highly recommend Amelia Newcombe Dressage on RUclips, she’s got tons of flatwork lesson videos.
Just a few tips (not a professional here) 1. PLEASE wear long pants! It will feel better to you and have better mobility with your legs 2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WEAR A HELEMT! Horses are still wild animals and you are still a beginner! For your safety WEAR A HELEMT! 3. Maybe start a little slower, you are only on your 3rd day of riding and you are already galloping! Try to master a walk/trot first. 4. Try to dismount faster do you don’t pull on the horses back 5. Try learning all the terms! You will know your way around things better, and it’s also really fun to just understand the horse fully! 6. Bouncing can be bad for the horse and can really cause them loads of pain, and it is unsafe for you (especially without a helmet) Hope this helped! 😊
Yes I agree with you although with helmets it is her choice but as a beginner always wear a helmet as you may not know how to fall safely but once you are familiar it becomes more comfortable and your choice to wear a helmet
honestly, this comment isn’t me trying to hate on her, but please PLEASE, when riding a horse, don’t wear insanely short shorts or a crop top.. don’t SLAM into the horses back when galloping, hold the reins with two hands, WEAR 👏 A 👏 HELMET👏 , that’s the #1 rule. And don’t yank on the horses mouth. Please learn how to properly WALK before GALLOPING.
Don’t be the boss of a horse, be a partner. Your horse, isn’t a machine, they are your best friend. Treat them like it. You’re their partner, and they’re much bigger than you, so you’ll never win that fight. Just try and work with them, instead of against. If they’re anxious, get off and lead them, or take another route. If they canter / gallop unexpectedly, pull on the reins gently.
that’s not how you “run” on a horse. you need to shorten your stirrups and get in a two point, or learn how to keep your bottom half still when galloping. you shouldn’t learn how to canter until you’re composed and you can keep your legs and your core tight. you’re setting yourself up for failure. and i really hope that you walked off your horse before you hosed her down and turned her out. you can cause a lot of back problems and skin conditions if you keep doing what you’re doing.
People are saying you are doing it wrong and shouldnt have rode the way you did but honestly it isnt your fault, every rider has been there before and you werent so bad either! Love how you took care of the horses after the ride. Glad you had a nice experience riding ❤

Hey I want to say that you were actually really great for a first time rider but I would never rush horses cause it can be very dangerous with no experience no matter who you are with. Always take horses slow and learn better seat like tucking your pockets loosening your reins and keeping your toes up and your legs in front of you. Cause if you can’t perfect it. it can be very painful for the horse. Your doing amazing tho keep on going and don’t give up. Just make sure to take something slow when it comes to horses. If you need any tips all you have to do is look up some videos or ask this comment. Good luck!

I know your a beginner but here’s some tips tips :) (btw your smashing it for a beginner) 1. try putting all your weight into your bum so you can canter without bouncing :) 2. Purchasing some riding jodhpurs would be a good idea because they are grippy and great 3. If you want the horse to go nearer to a fence, wall ect, try kicking your inside leg whilst gently pulling the outside rein - maybe do it a tiny bit harsher if your horse is lazy Hope this helped ❤
I love that your learning to ride ❤ but unfortunately your causing pain to the horse by bouncing on her back so much, please learn the basics of walking before picking up some speed
You're doing awesome, I'm so proud of how far you've come!! One tip for being able to sit a trot of lope or gallop is to move your weight from hip to hip with the horses pace. Once you try it it is so so much more comfortable, I rarely get sore from trotting anymore thanks to this hack.

Pointers!!!! When you are galloping/loping you keep bouncing up and down and that hurts the prolly really hurts your butt 😂 to fix this tuck your butt into the cantle of the saddle! Another thing is you are pulling on his bit a lot if you want to go fast keep your legs tight and your arms loose and when you want to stop relaxing your legs and start pulling on the reigns lightly, and when you stop I saw you kick while pulling on the reigns so that confuses your horse(and depending on the horse you could work on doing a slow skid stop it’s rlly fun if you do it on cutting horses!) And I would suggest you start out slow and have fun!
Ik this was posted a while ago but idc. You shouldn’t be galloping on a horse until you know how to two point in the saddle. You also should be wearing a helmet cause your not a pro yet, it’s also called untacking not unpacking the horse. But yes I do understand your still learning and that’s ok😊
Girl- U SHOULD NOT BE GALLOPING IF U CANT FIRST WALK TROT CANTER WITHOUT BOINCING TO THE MOON AND BACK! Your going to and have HURT this horse that did NOTHING wrong! Abuse. Not coming at u but the trainers and that yard. SERIOUSLY, do better. Horses don’t deserve this sh!t. Thank you. Edit: it doesn’t even matter if the horse did something wrong. THEY DONT DESERVE THIS 💔
When you gallop, you have to be in a higher position, which is your bottom can’t be sitting in the saddle because the back legs of the horse are basically it’s engine, and when you put weight on the engine it slows them down and hurts them. Also please stop bouncing, even though you can’t see the pain, there is pain.

Been riding 40 years. I always wear a helmet. I do consider myself an experienced rider, in English and western. However, you have to keep in mind that your horse is still an animal and having a solid seat and proper leg use and solid relationship with your horse, can sometimes all fall apart in 1 second. I asked my horse to trot. He spooked at something, broke into a gallop and cut to a sharp return, and next thing I know I’m on the ground with severe concussion. That was last August. Still not normal. Eyes were affected, balance, memory, and speech. Not to mention that my horse has his own emotions around the event. Point of this? 1. Take lessons and learn skills and techniques. 2. ALWAYS wear a helmet. Then enjoy a beautiful gallop with your horse because it is an amazing feeling.

Heres a pro tip! Heels should stay down or else if you fall you can get dragged by the horse from the saddle which is not fun and rlly scary-
Western don’t usually keep there heals down because of there long stirrups
@@seasons3844 discipline doesn’t matter. You’re stirrups should never be so long that you can’t keep your heels down. I showed western for my college team and the rodeo horse team and biggest thing was teaching to keep your heels down no matter how or what you’re riding. STOP BOUNCING!!‼️‼️‼️ if you watch people ride you notice that they lean with the horse and don’t bounce. Bouncing creates pressure on the horses back and can create a sway back and jsut back problems. DONT BOUNCE!
Also the way she dismounted sucked. She swung one leg over and then stood in the single stirrup for at.east 2 seconds. This creates sway back! ( meaning a curve in the horses back / spine. That’s a kind horse
All horses are kind if you give them a chance
It’s not about showing her “who’s boss” it’s about being a safe dependable leader
Just a thought I wanted to share as it takes a village in the horse world, you’ll always learn from someone 🤍
Also, there’s some amazing instructors that do free lessons on RUclips, I’d highly recommend. I listen to them whilst I’m riding & video myself riding so I can go back & identify mistakes or good points to build on. I highly recommend Amelia Newcombe Dressage on RUclips, she’s got tons of flatwork lesson videos.
Just a few tips (not a professional here)
1. PLEASE wear long pants! It will feel better to you and have better mobility with your legs
4. Try to dismount faster do you don’t pull on the horses back
5. Try learning all the terms! You will know your way around things better, and it’s also really fun to just understand the horse fully!
6. Bouncing can be bad for the horse and can really cause them loads of pain, and it is unsafe for you (especially without a helmet)
Hope this helped!
You pulled the reins and the bit (that is what is called) in the mouth and that stops a horse it's called canter and gallop
No bit
Her horse was wearing a bitless bridle
She was pulling the reins so much 😭
that’s not how you “run” on a horse. you need to shorten your stirrups and get in a two point, or learn how to keep your bottom half still when galloping. you shouldn’t learn how to canter until you’re composed and you can keep your legs and your core tight. you’re setting yourself up for failure. and i really hope that you walked off your horse before you hosed her down and turned her out. you can cause a lot of back problems and skin conditions if you keep doing what you’re doing.
The two point and short stirrups is an English thing, otherwise everything else was valid
RUNNING=cantering/galloping
UNPACKING=untacking
And one more thing a horse can feel u on it back even if you have a saddle so don’t bounce so much
People are saying you are doing it wrong and shouldnt have rode the way you did but honestly it isnt your fault, every rider has been there before and you werent so bad either! Love how you took care of the horses after the ride. Glad you had a nice experience riding ❤
It’s her trainer that is making this happen
1. Don't just slam down on the saddle eughhh.
2. It's called galloping, NOT running.
3. You're not the boss, you're the leader.
4. Wear a helmet please!!
I know I might sound rude but the horse is in a lot of pain when you slam down on his back like that-
facts i love riding its just so peaceful and you feel free when you do
Hey I want to say that you were actually really great for a first time rider but I would never rush horses cause it can be very dangerous with no experience no matter who you are with. Good luck!
All I can say is
I’ve been riding for 8 years and still haven’t perfected a canter, this is just- I mean she literally called it running, THIS IS NOT A HATE COMMENT!, I also want u to know it’s not about who’s “boss” both horse and rider are a team, I see potential but please sign up for real lessons.
I know your a beginner but here’s some tips tips :) (btw your smashing it for a beginner)
1. try putting all your weight into your bum so you can canter without bouncing :)
2. Purchasing some riding jodhpurs would be a good idea because they are grippy and great
3. If you want the horse to go nearer to a fence, wall ect, try kicking your inside leg whilst gently pulling the outside rein - maybe do it a tiny bit harsher if your horse is lazy
Hope this helped ❤

I ride horses and I love your vids!❤❤❤
Ik this was posted a while ago but idc. You shouldn’t be galloping on a horse until you know how to two point in the saddle. You also should be wearing a helmet cause your not a pro yet, it’s also called untacking not unpacking the horse. But yes I do understand your still learning and that’s ok😊

When you gallop, you have to be in a higher position, which is your bottom can’t be sitting in the saddle because the back legs of the horse are basically it’s engine, and when you put weight on the engine it slows them down and hurts them. If it’s your first time riding a horse and learning how to ride you should be wearing a helmet because horses have a mind of their own and they won’t always listen to the “boss”
I’m doing a work for lease with a lesson horse. Part of my lease is to have a lesson 2x a month. This makes sure you are riding safely and the instructor/owner can see if you are truly causing damage to a horses back. My lease horse may be a lesson horse, and has some patience, but if I bounce too much he throws in a little spice and let’s me know he doesn’t like it. It’s all about moving with the horse. You did great staying on but it’s so much more than that….and I know how much it means to a horse lover to be able to ride. Keep on going, never stop learning. Your horse will thank you and you’ll feel a deeper connection as you progress.Just because you haven’t learned some things on how to ride doesn’t mean you’re a horrible person for attempting this with your horse. Horses are very forgiving. ❤
What- day 3??? On day 3 you should be learning how to put your heel down not to gsllop- galloping should be on year 3-5!!
Considering the fact that you have no idea how to ride, you shouldn't be galloping. Also, you should be wearing a helmet. Given the fact that the horse can feel all of the bouncing on his/her back, I wouldn't blame him/her to buck or rear in pain. This is upsetting to watch. Whoever is "training" you should be jailed.

I own a horse and have been riding for over 13 years and you need to try to sit in your seat when I teach people I always tell them to pretend there butt is glued to the saddle and somehow it helps then so just think that when you are galloping
