  • Wrestling against the cage can be a tough task. The chaining of takedowns as well as the overall fitness level required is difficult for anyone. In this video, I'll demonstrate what most MMA fighters mess up with.

    From over under, your underhook side leg is between his legs. In this case your right leg. Use that same leg to ouchi his left leg and create kuzushi - his weight goes on his right leg, his head follows, leaning over the same leg and you bring your head to your underhook side while placing same hand on his rear shoulder

    Professor Steven - Step and throw by to get to same side underhook

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 года назад

      That may be one good way. Not exactly what I'm looking for but would work. You'd just have to worry about him escaping off of the wall as you step to throw by.

      I’m doing requests for my Patreon members exclusively now. I appreciate your request tho!
      There were simply too many for me to record all of them.

    Answering the question, you pummel the head with you overhook arm and drag the head to that side. Another option use shoulder strikes.

    Hmm, tough question, maybe pummel for an underhook on the side he has underhooked and when he goes to block switch your head to the otherside. Basically I'm saying act like you want the opposite underhook and you're trying to clear their underhook in 50/50 when they fight to pummel switch head to the otherside.

      I had Covington by stoppage. I thought it would have been more decisive tbh. Great work by Colby though.

    how do i get my head to the underhook side ? hmmm.. while i keep my chest to chest pressure i will try to wall walk my under hook arm extending his frame (while im also using hips to keep him on the wall).. i'll pummel my forehead to bring below his chin.. and I see I've achieved head to the underhook side while I continue to keep the pressure.. does that make sense -.- (fingers crossed)

    go for snap down and then duck for the underhook

      Am I close?

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 года назад +1

      I'd worry about snapping him down. Any amount of space created to snap him down is the same space required for him to escape off of the wall. It in theory could work.
