Historical Towns in Flanders, Belgium - Dendermonde and Lier

During my trip to Belgium in December 2023, I took a day trip to two historical Flemish towns - Dendermonde and Lier. Both have beautiful market squares and town halls as well as beguinages (homes for lay religious women who lived in community without taking vows or retiring from the world) that you can find in other parts Belgium. Both towns are well worth a day trip from Brussels or Antwerp.
