I'm 26 about to turn 27 and lately I have been freaking out because I've been noticing my smile lines (SMILE LINES!!! that you get from smiling and being happy!). For a few weeks now I've been searching pictures of celebs that are my age and all I see is flawless skin, no pores, no wrinkles, nothing, and it makes my anxiety sky rocket like crazy. So, even though deep down I know I cannot and should not compare myself to celebrities that have more money than me, I still really appreciate this video for showing me that we're all human beings and our "flaws" are natural and beautiful. 💗
I don't think I realised how much this skin texture scam we live inside affected me until I remembered how I used to feel as a 21 year old learning how to do my makeup, and feeling like I was constantly doing it 'wrong' because makeup never looked smooth and buttery on my skin the way it did on beauty guru's skin on RUclips. I don't know if you've made a video on this already, but as of a few years ago, people are now getting their tear-troughs filled. I've always had prominent tear troughs though others seem to refer to them as 'dark circles' or 'eye bags'. They're neither...it's literally your skeleton + the distribution of fat in your face. I have very full cheeks too which makes them even more prominent on me. Makes me sad to see that women are now getting injections into their undereyes (which must hurt like hell) to erase them.
Love the lighter hair. I’m one of those rare people with perfectly smooth skin. No texture. My mom too. I would trade my skin texture to not have type 1 diabetes for 40 years any day. Always be grateful for the things you do have
5 surgical scars, one is eight inches long. I’ve lost 40 pounds, and now have stretch marks and cellulite. But I feel the most beautiful ever because I am happy to be alive. Love your body, it’s getting you through. You’ll be amazed what it can do.🌸🌸🌸
Thanks so much for this. I love your content but this post is my favorite. People are so judgmental about skin texture especially since the rise of Instagram Face and the truth is that we all have skin texture: bumps, pores, etc. And the medical and cosmetics industry are in on it. This post really resonates and thanks again.
I have a friend from Nigeria and she has naturally perfect skin. Her face literally looks airbrushed and smooth with no pores. I've met some of her family and friends from Nigeria and they all have gorgeous skin. Yes, there are people who have naturally perfect skin and it's ok to admit that. It doesn't mean we have to hate ourselves because someone has something we don't have. Everyone just needs to appreciate what they have.
I'm also so disappointed with this temu ad... I understand you want to monetize, I get it, really, but temu..??? 😢 with slave work, unethical tactics, security wholes (or maybe even malicious bugs placed on purpose) in application making their users being vulnerable targets for privacy violation, monopolising market snd selling total crap - like really how can normalising beaty standards and peopke wellbeing go hand in hand with what temu does? And I want to highlight that I absolutely adore the work you're doing here!!! ❤
Seeing more of these and regular people on tiktok talking about insecurities beautifully saved me and my mindset when i was younger I actually loved how we all related so i don’t feel alienated
i am glad these videos exist, thank you. i get quite insecure about my skin texture and bumps... but this helps me so much. Sometimes we forget that we are just humanss nothing more :)
Stephanie, I am so grateful for your videos, I find it so refreshing that you want to bring awareness and make people stop feeling so anxious about their skin texture, which leads them to try and hide it, when it´s a natural fact which doesn´t take from their natural beauty and indeed doesn´t make them any less beautiful, but as you say, more human, thank you so much for wanting to normalize this
Thank u for this. I felt so frustrated seeing i lost weight in my face my smile lines have become more prominent and beeen so self conscious with lighting but seeing a lot of these models do too makes me feel better
Eat more fatty foods (avocado, peanuts, natural cheese) and it gets better believe me I also have prominent nasolabial folds but eating that made it at least a little bit better
I am 27 and just looked in the mirror today and closely looked at my pores, skin texture and acne dents. I was so ashamed (always have been) for being broken I guess? I felt so down and always do. I don’t even want people seeing my face in the sunlight because it Highlights my texture and I feel so insecure about it- and even envy celebrities who have porcelain skin and wonder what I am doing wrong. Then I saw this. Thank you.
We all beautiful and social media is the worst comes to your skin because you see in Instagram when people thinks skin texture is bad. Its not lol! We are all human. Be yourself and thank you Stephanie for making videos about body, skin, acne, and so on!!
thank you! when I first started getting into makeup years ago I only saw airbrushed skin and literally thought that was normal and I was broken. this video is so important in the age of airbrush and filters!
I do have to add that, while it’s understandable to say ‘no one has perfect skin’. I myself have to admit there are people with perfect skin, i know them, I’ve seen them and ive seen them without makeup incase anyone brings that’s up. My sister, cousin and a girl i went to highschool with literally have perfect skin. Hardly any scars, hardly any blemishes, no need for concealer. Some over care for their skin, some under care, but all of them hardly wear makeup. Yes we all have texture but not all have pronounced texture, i don’t know if that makes sense. I once saw a customer in person and my gosh her skin was so so good. Then I saw this clients girlfriend and she was 100% natural, no makeup, perfect skin. The thing is, perfect skin does actually exist but it may not always be perfect, there’ll be a pimple or two but it goes. But yes for many more people, imperfect skin is more prominent. I just don’t like saying ‘it doesn’t exist’ Also the celebrities used as examples, some of them have foundation pimples. So what it means is the pores get clogged while wearing makeup, causing bumps. Without makeup, and if they were to go less heavy, they’d not have it. I get those a lot of the time when i wear foundation, therefore if a picture was taken of me with foundation, I’d have that pimply skin too. But if i were taken natural, they’d not really be there. Therefore i believe even some of the celebs here actually have great skin but have been photographed with foundation pimples
I once asked a RUclipsr if they’re using a filter or something since in that video their face and legs looked so good like Barbie skin. She said no we don’t. Which later I’ve realized it’s a lie. But for a while I thought, wow! These two girls are beyond lucky for such skin!
This video makes me feel a lot of better. My period is coming soon and my bf is going to pass a week at my house. My skin right now is pretty bad and I'm very insecure about it. I now he doesn't even care about my skin, but social media sometimes makes me feel like I'm the only one who has this "imperfections". Sorry for my bad English, I'm Spanish-
Speaking truth, normalize normal unfiltered skin. Love this. ♥️ I know it's hard in this over saturated market that plays on your perceived flaws to get the money you work hard to earn, but be true to yourself, be kind to your skin.
She’s a beautiful person inside and out. (It seems, I don’t personally know her), but I will continue to follow her because I agree with her messages. She seemed honest with herself about beauty and self image.. and changed the direction of where her channel was going.
Steph, thank you for educating me over the past few years. Thanks to the efforts you put into your videos. I'm only 27 and struggled with this insecurity since i was 11. I didnt dare to leave the house or see people without a full face of makeup to hide my "hideous mega pores" and scars. I would cry and panic when someone even *mentioned* the pores on my nose or the scars on my shoulders and cheek. I started slowly decreasing my makeup usage, especially the heavy skin smothering foundations. I realised that my dark eye circles arent a "me problem" but an expectation vs reality issue. I also realised that all my favourite influencers/idols were using filters and Photoshop, and lying straight to their audience that their "flawless skin" was natural and unedited. It wasnt flawless skin; it was flawed deception. Having skin with texture doesnt make a person ugly or unworthy. It makes a person a human. I eventually learned to accept my face as it is, not be obsessed with IG body/skin goals and recognizing that pores/texture have an important function. Such as lubricating the skin, heat reduction & being a protective layer. Now, since about a year, i easily leave home with a bare face without any shame. I care for my skin with proper skincare products, and only use makeup on when im feeling artsy. I wish all those influencers were more honest about this; using filters isnt wrong. But (unintentionally) deceiving others and praising unreachable standards IS wrong. Theres nothing better than showing a fanbase there's still real humanity left in the IG/modelling world! 💜✨
Same. Rosacea makes me so insecure. Id always cover it up. Now i dont do so much anymore. Sometimes people also react on my rosacea, my biggest fear. Theyll be like: wow you have been in the sun way too much! Or: are you sick? Stuff like that
It's not just skin texture I love seeing how human looking these celebs are when not in perfect flattering lighting, like the way the whole skin structure isn't sculpted to the face but instead it has creases folds lines that captured at a bad angle and lighting can make us all feel a bit insecure, but ultimately we all have that affect.
Getty Images be out there doing the “Lord’s Work “ 😂 exposing celebrities and normalizing unfiltered , truly natural and imperfectly perfect human skin.
Sorry hon, but Temu is just a cheap Chinese brand, like the brand "Shein", which I can't support. That doesn't mean I can't support you though 😊 I'd hate to continuously see myself airbrushed, just looking in the mirror would be traumatic, knowing I'll NEVER resemble those "ideal" pictures. It must be so sad to be in that headspace 😢 As always, a very informative and inspirational video, thank you! Love ya guts 💚💙💚💙💚
You are so beautiful, smart and funny! Love you and your vids! Thank you!! I am trying to focus on being happy and don't stress myself with silly things like caring about how other people see me. Just appreciate life we have! It is such a miracle. I have a daughter with severe disability, Rett syndrome, and it helped me open my eyes and see what life is about more... Take care everyone, and love yourselves. You all are worty and good heart is much more than a good Instagram picture 💗💗💗
Stephanie, you should start a movement promoting real looking models! To me, uniqueness is huge when it comes to a being a model. If natural beauty is covered up and filtered, there is no uniqueness nor honesty. The models all begin looking alike.
Could you do a video about hair? Like the use of hairextensions and stuff like that? I consider my hair to be normal but in comparison to celebrities I am sometimes feeling insecure about not having a ton of hair on my head. I totally love your videos ❤
This video made me feel so much better about myself, I'm so insecure about my uneven skin tone but I never really noticed that it's just totally normal and people around me have it too I was just so focused on how those perfect people look I thought I had a skin problem when I didn't at all!
i have indeed met girls with perfect skin, like, literally perfect skin that looks like a filter irl and no, they don't wear make up.. but although some of these are natural, some get these results from birthcontrol pills i cant take, so i just accepted that im not one of these girls and i either live with it or let it stress me out
I am still recovering from an ed and I know I look like sh#t. I don't want to compare myself with others but sometimes you just feel so pressured to do. Thankfully I never had much acne or anything but I know I am getting healthy now and these videos honestly help so much to stay human and keep listening to what your body needs.
This video just helped me so much!! I have skin texture, but I also have pigmentation issues and have been to see 3 dermatologists about it. At the end of the day, I'm realizing that my rosea breakouts just heal slower than most. I don't want to leave the house without makeup and eyebrows (which are naturally very thin). I had no idea these superstars have similar issues. Thank you for making me feel normal and boosting my confidence!
Pinterest is bad for me. I research a hairstyle, every photo is heavily 'shopped. I get insecure. I just don't go on the website. Thanks for your work, seriously!!
i really need this, i have been back in the office so i'm wearing makeup more often and it makes me sad. i think my skin is actually really smooth but i still seem some texture that is different than online even tho deep down I KNOW it's fake, it still gets to me. i needed this video
I once got my skin tested & the women who did it told me I have really good skin with normal skintype BUT I still have poress & textures. And when I adressed that she smiled & said thats normal and no need to do anything abour it - thats being a human, there is no perfect skin :D She was honest & didnt try to sell me anything unnecessary.
I've been using retinoids for the better part of 16 years because of adult acne and genetically oilly skin. When i'm not dealing with dehydration texture and hormonal break outs you can still feel the slight diffrence in the oily and drier parts of my face.Regardless you can see my larger pores even when they aren't expanded.Currently I can feel some summer break outs from my sub-tropical climate increasing my oil production.
Stephanie Thank you so much ❤️❤️ this I needed today for my mental health been judging my face and myself so hard and it's nice to see that everyone is human and no one looks airbrushed perfect 🌺

5 surgical scars, one is eight inches long. I’ve lost 40 pounds, and now have stretch marks and cellulite. But I feel the most beautiful ever because I am happy to be alive. Love your body, it’s getting you through. You’ll be amazed what it can do.🌸🌸🌸
i needed to hear this
Thanks so much for this. I love your content but this post is my favorite. People are so judgmental about skin texture especially since the rise of Instagram Face and the truth is that we all have skin texture: bumps, pores, etc. And the medical and cosmetics industry are in on it. This post really resonates and thanks again.
Thank you Stephanie for sharing the truth about filters used on social medial education of reality is the key nowadays!
Yesterday I was crying because my dark circles, and now I feel better. Thank y so much Stephanie!
@@stacyinfishers I understand the problem here, but you cannot tell people for what they should cry. 😨
I'm one that has gorgeous skin. People think i have on makeup, but no. It's my genes
Steph, you are my real life beauty queen! I've finally seen reality of life and beauty in your videos.
Stephanie, I am so grateful for your videos, I find it so refreshing that you want to bring awareness and make people stop feeling so anxious about their skin texture, which leads them to try and hide it, when it´s a natural fact which doesn´t take from their natural beauty and indeed doesn´t make them any less beautiful, but as you say, more human, thank you so much for wanting to normalize this
Looks like a lot of my fave bloggers promoting Temu. It's like Established Titles all over again.
Your smiling face in the "daylight" clip though, i love seeing smile lines, they just look charismatic. ❤❤
Ugh your videos are life changing thank you
I am 27 and just looked in the mirror today and closely looked at my pores, skin texture and acne dents. Thank you.
❤❤Yes i love these videos too
Steph my girl please do not support temu.
I have orange peel texture on my cheeks, but seeing this video is making me accept it better.❤
Thank you for loving yourself in such a way that kt helps us all love ourselves more.
I just love how you keep it real! Thank you, Stephanie. It's very hard to find these days
I just don’t like saying ‘it doesn’t exist’
Also the celebrities used as examples, some of them have foundation pimples.
Thank you so much for being there and doing this research! Please never stop encouraging us! we need you stephanie to keep us sane! ❤
i'm so insecure about my skin too. i have rosacea and it causes redness, dryness, bumps arrghh. thanks for this .i'm always so envious of stars skin
Same. Rosacea makes me so insecure. Id always cover it up. Now i dont do so much anymore. Sometimes people also react on my rosacea, my biggest fear. Theyll be like: wow you have been in the sun way too much! Or: are you sick? Stuff like that
@@arbitrary_raspberry its a struggle for sure :( i hope this video makes you feel at least a bit better
thank you so much, I really needed that reality check right now
It's not just skin texture I love seeing how human looking these celebs are when not in perfect flattering lighting, like the way the whole skin structure isn't sculpted to the face but instead it has creases folds lines that captured at a bad angle and lighting can make us all feel a bit insecure, but ultimately we all have that affect.
I’m grateful you’re on here spreading the truth girl 🙌
please NOT Teeeeemooooooo Nooooooo! You are too smart to be sponsored by them Steph! yikes!
Omg i love this!! You are making such a big difference in this shallow world where we all need to learn to love ourselves now more than ever!❤
I love your honesty
Getty Images be out there doing the “Lord’s Work “ 😂 exposing celebrities and normalizing unfiltered , truly natural and imperfectly perfect human skin.
Lmao 😂😂😂😂
Sorry hon, but Temu is just a cheap Chinese brand, like the brand "Shein", which I can't support. That doesn't mean I can't support you though 😊
I'd hate to continuously see myself airbrushed, just looking in the mirror would be traumatic, knowing I'll NEVER resemble those "ideal" pictures. It must be so sad to be in that headspace 😢
As always, a very informative and inspirational video, thank you!
Love ya guts 💚💙💚💙💚
Thanks for talking about skin as an organ and filters. You're amazing!!!!!
Grateful for the reality check!
Stephanie you have beautiful skin
I love your videos, you are articulating my thoughts exactly and its so good to hear more people and not feel crazy for thinking about these things
THNAK YOU. your vids are honestly keeping me sane
Makes me feel so much better! My skin is smooth except for a couple of small wrinkles.
THANK YOU STEPHANIE!!!!!!!!!!
Your eyebrows look amazing, Steph 💫
This video made me feel so much better about myself, I'm so insecure about my uneven skin tone but I never really noticed that it's just totally normal and people around me have it too I was just so focused on how those perfect people look I thought I had a skin problem when I didn't at all!
Exactly. Skin is a living organ. It needs to stretch & age.
i have indeed met girls with perfect skin, like, literally perfect skin that looks like a filter irl and no, they don't wear make up.. but although some of these are natural, some get these results from birthcontrol pills i cant take, so i just accepted that im not one of these girls and i either live with it or let it stress me out
I am still recovering from an ed and I know I look like sh#t.
Thank you for making me feel normal and boosting my confidence!
we need an eyeshadow tutorial on this look. I love your eyes x
Yikes. Not temu!!! 😢😢😢😢😢
My textured skin is my biggest insecurity. Sometimes I don't even wanna leave the house. Thanks for this video.
