Its a bad play for sure. Guaranteed crosschecking and even from behind which may warrant a major. But on the other end its a hard play (a bit cheap), but liljegren needs to learn as he adjusts to the nhl that these are strong men, elite athletes, and has to be prepared for contact. Overall, maybe a 5 min major is justified, but not suspension worth imo.
I suppose I am saying, no matter which teams are playing, don't expect an objective view from either teams fans. Every fan of team A sees nothing but good in their team, while team B see nothing but bad in team A. And vice versa.

Nosek was a Redwings product until Vegas expansion so he has some grittiness to his game when need be.

That is throwing out the arms to crosscheck someone from behind who has no reason to expect to be hit, given his positioning by the boards and the fact that he was never close to playing the puck. Nobody who cares about hockey would argue that is a good hit.

The ire of Toronto fans on the Nosek hit has nothing to do with this particular play. It is a culmination of years and years of Leaf ineptitude against Boston. Over the decades Leaf fans have developed an obsession of anger towards the Bruins. The Nosek bump was just the latest iteration.
