@@garyseckel295 A beautiful fall ride! Two folks from Oregon with the Bike Fridays. The bikes pack inside the suitcase trailers to go as checked baggage on airplanes. They flew to Pittsburg, rode the GAP trail, and were continuing on C&O to DC. Great folks!
Yes! The tunnels were built around 1912 by the Western Maryland Railway company, and the railway was used extensively to transport coal, coke and iron to and from Maryland to Pittsburg. Business declined and the railways were abandoned in 1978.
