This is the strangest experience, a terraria video I can watch without losing my hearing from the screams of agony. Truly an amazing video which I now use as background audio for when I am playing terraria myself.

Popping in to say that now that obsidian crates drop hellstone and hellforges, you need literally just 1 block
That’s true once Tmod and Calamity update, but it’s also a much, much less interesting run now since you just need to kill slimes for everything

Since Chlorophyte is a metal that spreads, a living metal if you will, it would make sense why life fruits appear on it. It would have small enough traces of it for the Metal Detector to find it. Eating it enhancing yourself with Chlorophyll. :)

@darkfiredragon3410 Default dash is a miserable feature designed to bully you when you don't have hermes boots and maybe occasionally help you get to speed faster with it
@Brent-jj6qiThis is probably a contender for worst take I've ever stumbled upon about Calamity.
Being able to instantly reach max speed in whatever direction you're running is huge for evading way more boss attacks than you'd think, as well as make fast moving mounts like the horses nearly instantly reach max speed.
@darkfiredragon3410Ok but mounts you only really get any practical ones after EOC and then obviously you only fight 3 bosses before you get the shield of Cthulhu, which are the 3 easiest bosses in the game and even then it’s hard to use the default dash for much. Meanwhile, you can easily spend hours pre Hermes boots getting constantly trolled by the default dash because the basically 3 blocks of movement when doing it from a standstill is only good for instantly catapulting yourself into the nearest trap or lava

I just want to say that that art of you sitting on that ore was absolutely incredible
Funnily enough, in 1.4.5 Calamity, you won't even need the hellforge since you'll be able to get both hellstone and hellforge from obsidian/hellstone crates
And also early game is a lot easier now cause you can make platform from vulfrum and get stone from rare-ish sufrace enemy crab.
15:33 I actually have a theory on this! The life fruit probably grows a hard outer shell formed of gold, and inside of that is the stuff you eat for health
i'd argue that a calamity playthrough isn't complete until you obtain the cynosure lore item
Just as a reminder, in any calamity runs you do, You can shimmer cactus into pumpkins.

@thesandwich7151 The Mining Armor cooldown now works again, every Calamity biome crate no longer drops items related to their biome - effectively making them just reskinned Iron/Mythril Crates - and certain vanilla crates no longer drop Calamity ores based on progression.
Also the early hardmode rework now correctly applies to crates so you'll no longer get early hardmode ores you haven't unlocked yet.
Basically the entire foundation of this run was gutted.

@darkfiredragon3410 The armour being a glitch and locking ore to progression I can understand, but gutting the Biome crates is maybe the most obvious "Devs hate when players don't play the intended way" thing I have even seen

The Drone and rope building at the start reminds me of my Core Keeper builds I did!
It looked horrible in-game but when looking at it on the map it was much better.
I swear, every time I didn't want a slime rain they ruined my day over and over. But right when I wanted a slime rain, it just didn't show up and I just spawned the king slime on my own.
Then, the next day is a slime rain.

I feel like so many challenge run players underestimate the sheer glorious value of having a hotkey ready Rod of Discord and the Queen Slime hook which teleports you to the destination. For daytime Empress and Duke especially, they're spectacular.
1:02:40 you can also just press shift with torches in your inventory, it has the same effect as what you did, while also being a bit faster, and you only need to do a quick tap of the button

This guys beats calamity terraria on death mode with only 2 blocks, and yet im suffering on vanilla early hard mode
I found that you can bypass the potion decrafting tax by decrafting them one by one. It takes more time, but you save resources by doing it.
One alteration they made for skyblocks is it is now possible to catch rain water in a bucket by leaving it out in the rain.
Watched all the videos as they came out and have throughly enjoyed it all. Great work my friend!
the old lord claymore is unironically the best pre-hardmode melee weapon
You would definitely need to revisit this challenge when Calamity is finished and fully released.
