Yes he does have the right to. He is not filming for commercial purposes, he is filming to document. He is filming on a public street, not being disruptive to operations or invading anyone's privacy. So do you want to go to every news station and tell them to be ashamed of themselves for airing videos of other fires? Didn't think so.
Aerial trucks are not a waste of tax money. In this scenario there is actually people inside fighting the fire, called an interior attack. When FFers are inside you cant dump water from the aerial down on them. The roof and ceilings will fall on them. Not all are fought from the outside. The ladder truck is a better option when it comes to venting roofs. There are many worse ways the government waste money. Not like you would get it back, they would/ will find other ways to spend it.
L2 The ladder trucks are the LEAST important piece of equipment needed for your average fire like this one. The Deck Gun on the first truck could have stopped this within 1 minute after the wheels stopped. Ladder trucks are for High Rise buildings only. In a situation like this they would be good for destroying everything inside the house that the fire didn't and filling the basement. P.S. Vertical Venting does not work. A house is not a chimney and can't perform like one.
it caries extra tools, for extra water on the fire, to get crews into higher floors, to vent windwos, and mainly for water deployment, its not a stupid idea when it calms down the fire majorly.
Another reason for the aerial truck. NEWER construction. The trusses are held together by tiny and thin metal plates. Not the old fashioned nails. They fail very quickly from the heat. After three or four minutes you CAN'T be on the roof to vent it the traditional way. You MUST be in a bucket, or at least strapped to one.
Why are the Chief's running around with packs on??? You don't need a pack to be the I/C. And that dude at 5:50 needs to learn how to use a ground ladder. Looks like a decent stop by the rest of the crews though.
mini A LEADER is supposed to be a THINKER. They should delegate not get dirty. They should never get anywhere near a fire. If they do, then they are Working instead of Thinking.
Guys my fire fighting experience is way old but... I am seeing no one entering the building and shooting the fire back outside. Building looks safe to enter from front door. see lots carrying ladders and waiting on ladder truck to play!! Then you just play drown Foam and/or spray on van-- This is one I call bullshit on! I fuss and fight everyday for fire, police, ems and rescue!
What's your home address? I'd like to drive over and start taking videos and photos of your home and posting here to see how much you like your home documented publicly without your permission.

Hey Justin, no one has the right to post someone elses address online. You have a rotten entitled attitude... youtube isnt a documentation engine for PRIVATE fire companies - any first responder worth a grain of salt - and I have spoken with a few - would agree - this is a private matter.
Oh Firefighters! The fricking HOUSE is on fire!! Forget about the FRICKING van.

Great vid Mr Villanova!
Excuseme, at least 1 cop was helping!
Was Oakland VFD on scene? My cousin is a member over there
was there a firefighter down? at least 2 min of video time of a pass alarm
What is the purpose of the DTMF tones after the station tones?
Yes, started in the van and extended to the house.
Did the fire start in the van?
I believe it sets off the sirens in town.
Soooo, does the 2 story structure not matter? Jus askin

ffjsb the Chiefs are actively involved in the scene. Some run operations

Evidently you didn't notice the interior line in operation.
Guess the van that is a total loose is more important than the house.
Farm Mechanic you were not there. we actually listen to our chiefs
mini You need to come up with another line.
Put the water on the f'ing fire!
we need it for the sheraton in Mahwah
Say that when your house is on fire....

Check the video at 4:30 - there is an interior attack in progress. And at 5:30 you see the front entrance is being used.
