@@mountainmanrockets5644 Sure thing, I forgot to mention how much I love Rush!! Please tell me you've listen to "Hemispheres" the album. It's their apogee.
@@empoweryou1 I not only have heard Hemispheres, I saw that tour live (among the 13 other times I have seen them in concert 😀). I practically broke my hand trying to play La Villa Strangiato on my guitar when I was a teenager. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose!
NICE! I am developing an unhealthy relationship with your rocket, I think! ;) And this is one of the best, maybe THE best produced rocketry video I have seen to date! Thank you! Subbed....
@@mountainmanrockets5644 I will probably do my L1 then. I'm going up this September for the picnic but just to watch. I'll have a bunch of 29mm L1 ready and one picked out for the cert flight, and a 38mm Mega to fly by next spring, after I get the cert at a later date. I really want a JL 3 Altimeter, but they are still sold out with no word of new ones. Then I looked at a Flightsketch mini but they seem to be sold out too!
@@michaelbozung1794 Hope to see you up at URRG! Don't come empty handed, fly whatever you have 🙂 URRG has some of the most amazing LPR and MPR launch pads and a gigantic recovery area. Perfect chance to try out that G80 you have always wanted to fly, but never had the space. For the altimeter, if you are a bit adventurous, check out the Eggtimer ION or Apogee - you have to build them, but they are about the same size/weight as a JL3, but way cheaper and have tons more functionality. I have lots of Eggtimer build videos on this channel - check them out and see if it is something you want to tackle.
@@mountainmanrockets5644 Ok, I watched another guy's video of him assembling an EggFinder mini. I went thru electronics in school, I just need to decide what I want. @@michaelbozung1794 I am mtnmanak on the rocketryforum. You can also check out my HPR primer here: www.mountainmanrockets.com/index.php/hpr-primer/ - it may answer some questions. They are both authorized for TARC flights, so you know they are accurate and work well.
Any special meaning to the designators along the fuselage? I saw assembly date, locators, operation Temps. Is there anything else cool? Really like the idea.
This is a "fantasy" scale rocket, so there is no such thing as a real AGM-33 in the military. SERNO on military equipment stands for "serial number", so, in this case, those numbers are just for fun to make it look more authentic. In the case of a real piece of military equipment, there would be a different serial number for the "booster" part of the rocket and the "payload bay" of the rocket, which is simulated in this scale model.
Totally static on this rocket. Control was achieved by precision engineering of the fin can and a lot of time spent ensuring a radial balance. I am currently working on a high altitude rocket with spin stabilization and yo-yo spin control. Not ready for prime time yet, but most of the fun for me with rockets is the design and engineering, so it is a cool project!
Did you make your own motor or was it off the shelf? I'm currently getting into making my own APCP rockets with HTPB resin and would eventually like to get certified as well, but that's a little while down the road I think, for now I'm just making small rockets/motors, nothing over 1-1/2 inch diameter but it would be pretty fun to make something this big.
Hi Bill - In order to be able to purchase high power commercial rocket motors and to launch from certain sites, you need to have a certification from either NAR (www.nar.org/) or Tripoli (www.tripoli.org/). Level 3 is the highest cert you can get and allows you to buy the largest motors available. You can find more info on my website: www.mountainmanrockets.com/index.php/hpr-primer/
Great flight.
Thanks!
Very inspiring! I live in the mountains too and plan to create a rocketry club in high school.
That is great to hear! That is how most of us started - school clubs. Good luck, join the forums, look for mentors and keep flying!
Start the club! I guarantee you’ll be happy you did 😊
Man, that went straight as an arrow. Great build!
Thanks!
I don't think it rotated even 180°. Great build, great flight!
Thanks!
Beautiful rocket! Excellent launch! Absolutely no issues with the sound track.🤟
Thanks!
Great flight! It made maybe one revolution during the entire boost. That's some straight fins!
Thanks!

Rockets and Rush! Can't get that any better!
🤘
Definitely would just prefer original audio and video
me too - good grief that music sucked. No rocket sound.
awesome stable flight
Thanks!
That's a model rocket!!
beautiful!
Thanks Mark, wouldn't have looked as good without the awesome Stickershock decals!!
My pleasure!
Great job, flight and cool editing. Congratulations 🤙🚀
Thanks!
Great RUSH song and nice launch
Thanks!
Great sound track. RIP Professor
I was just thinking, "what a horrid sound track - thank god for the mute button..."
Very impressive but I would have liked to hear the actual audio.
Came for the rocket, stayed for Rush! Fine choice of a soundtrack.
Rock on!
Very nice😊 Good Jam!
Thanks!
Круто! Отличная работа!

It is indeed URRG! Love launching there. Make sure to attend URRF next year, URRG is hosting LDRS42!

Excellent roll control on ascent. Was it active or static roll control?

Great choice of song how high did it go btw?
Thanks! This launch it went to 2310 ft. On a subsequent launch on an Aerotech N3300, it went to just under 10,000 feet

i believe they have to be off the shelf for a certification flight
This flight was on a commercial motor - an Aerotech M2050X.
Nice music... would of been better to actually hear the audio of the actual video.
What is the airframe made of ?
It is a fiberglass airframe, 8 inches in diamter
@@mountainmanrockets5644 thank you!!
Music is too loud and dramatic. Dumb.
Excellent rocket launch. Unfortunately the music in the video made my stomach upset and I spent two hours on the toilet.
