    Ok now, I have had my Diamond Juice Press for many years and I am totally satisfied with it. I love having a non electric press.
    The best part about the press for me is that it is a piece of art! Beautifully designed and made. I love it, thank you!

    Very nice design, love the wood and the fact you haven't made it the diameter of the bowl, so it's a smaller footprint than most hydraulic press designs.

    Nice Job! may I suggest putting a decorative knob on the valve so you don't have to keep flippin the handle back and forth and a slightly shorter tighter fitting handle for the pump with a nice grip and it can be the "Deluxe" model

    Purchased and carried it all the way to Israel.. It looks great and works even greater. I got more then 15-20% juice out of the pulp. Probably closer to 30%. I guess it depends also on the on the raw materials used but for the ingredients I use (Lettuce, Cucember, Zucchini, 2 carrots, Apple and a Pear) produced that amount. I really enjoy it, also as it is very easy to apply and use, and nothing to clean really on the press.
    Bravo!

    So many problems here: First the "website" in the description is actually an email address. Next is the price of $475. For a $20 jack and nice wood. Plus shipping that heavy thing. Who are you kidding here? There is nothing remotely expensive in the way of parts here. No justification for this ludicrous price. You're also using corian. Who uses corian when in contact with food? Its used for countertops, sinks and bathtubs. Is it really inert? Is any synthetic material really inert? Who wants to take a chance when there is stainless steel or glass which we know is inert?
    People, what we need are stainless steel pans that nest together. One thing that is really smart to Tim's design is the idea of collecting the juice within the juice pan. Very ingenious. But maybe we can find better material to do that with than corian. Nowhere do I see them used with food besides displaying things like fruit.

    Beautiful press.
    I've been thinking of using a table shop press. The pulp would be pressed between 2 steam pans (like you'd see at a hotel buffet). Lower pan drains into a jar.

    • @bobhoskins9595
      @bobhoskins9595 5 лет назад

      Have you found a source for the pans? They need to nest into each other but the bottom one needs to drain. You could drill a hole but whatever you drill it with should be stainless steel as well. Not many people have stainless steel bits. You could also mount it in a frame so it sits at a slight angle to encourage drainage.

    Wood has a warmer feel then steel to me. my press is engineered to withstand forces of a 2 ton jack plus. I would rather handle wood then steel but your forces of 15-100 ton demand steel. Your joints may be your limiting factor, 1 1/2" thick steel is REALLY strong.

Do you use a thick steal plate? Thank YOU

    Question what if we use a champion and get the mash which will make more juice vs. juicing from an omega or masticating juicer then taking the leftover mash to get the remaining juice left. Would the initial bulk of mash overflow liquid wise and get re-soaked up by the mash that you are pressing in the bowl? I know this sounds confusing. Instead of using leftover mash, I would like to use just mash containing a lot of liquid that I haven't sent through say a Omega or Masticating juicer. This initial mash will contain the bulk of the juice. I am thinking that since it's in a bowl that the overflow would get reabsorbed into the carrot mash etc. Thoughts?

    • @bobhoskins9595
      @bobhoskins9595 5 лет назад +1

      Champions are poor for the initial grinding because they spin way too fast. The Omega he uses is much better because its a low rpm design. If you want to save money look for a good manual or hand crank juicer. They're often used for wheatgrass. Also, why would you want to add juice to the pulp? Its just more work to press, isn't it?

    HooRay for you, I have watched the other jack presses, and none of the people are worried about having the jack leak fluid into their juice, with the jack on the bottom no-way for a leaky jack to spoil the juice, they don't even think far enough ahead to place a pan between the jack and juice, yours is a lot better way and safer way.

    I like this for the project in its own right. If you have the skills and interest to build something like this, by all means, knock yourself out and don't worry about the trolls.
    I guess, though, for someone so enthusiastic about getting that 'last drop', I'd be concerned about forcing a liquid under great pressure through a '100 percent polyester' cloth. Under that pressure, especially as the cloth gets re-used, I suspect you're ingesting at least some polyester fibres.
    I have the same concern about commercial 'press' juicers too.
    Again, this might seem pedantic, but if I was going to this much trouble, it would concern me.

      I was wondering why he used synthetic material as well. Seems odd. Also he is using a plastic container to collect the juice from the Omega. So unnecessary. And would Corian be the best material to use when collecting the pressed juice? Its a novel idea collecting the juice in the bottom of the pressing dish I have to admit. We've all had juice drip all over the place. But nobody else seems to do this so I wonder.

The vibrations went right through he walls. Its one powerful beast. The grinding mechanism is wonderfully designed though and its a breeze to clean. But so very expensive. Probably they started the fallacy when much younger to impress people as they were struggling and couldn't stop it because to do that would have them admit they lied all along. Even now Patricia Bragg doesn't address it. I'm sure its a headache for her.
      Regarding more minerals and vitamins: I think that's correct. I have a cheap juicer that I hand squeeze the pulp from to get more yield. The juice from the squeezed juice tastes noticeably richer than what comes directly from the juicer. I wonder if something like a waffle maker might make the pressing part easier. The press itself doesn't need cleaning usually maybe a wipe here and there. The press plates and the bowl take about 5 seconds to rinse off. The cloth takes the same as with any cloth, 10-15 seconds actually less then the clothes from Norwalk which can be harder to get out the fibers from the cloth. The whole cleanup process takes about 2 minutes including wiping the table or counter off and cleaning the Omega 8004. Craig what are you basing your claim on?
