At 6:30mins; LFG without having to use you bowstring device you can use your right foot on the ground as your anchor and step through between the bow and string with the left foot and use your body weight and your hip/bum to act as your fulcrum. I'll try to get you a video of the process. But I am glad that you are adding more knowledge to your base. And I'm sure that it is More exhilarating to harvest an animal with a less technologically advanced device. Justin, you just keep being you! You and your family are awesome!
I think your right about women and aiming. My mom was an excellent shot with a rifle. The first time she shot the bullet holes were touching. They just got the scope set up in a few shots. She shot a monster buck and told my dad she hunted one year and that was fine for her. She won the county contest for biggest buck that year.
OK. OSG is already a gourmet chef, cook book author, awesome mom, hunter and fisher, which makes her pretty much a perfect wife. Now she jugs for catfish and is trying traditional archery? DANGIT MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Calm down my guy
She will be able to take care of her kids in any situation. She a momma bear! Heck yeah 🎉🎉🎉
I think it's so awesome the way OSG takes an interest in the things you love to do. You cook together and so many other things. You even include the young ones. You are equals in the relationship. Best friends. Beautiful family. Truly blessed. And OSG Is definitely easy on the eyes.😁👪🕊️🙏💟
🤔? I was about to ask if OSG(Stephanie) was the camera person, but I heard her giggle....she does a good job 👏 👍
Yall definitely need to get OSG a bow.. let her pick it out and she will love it even more. It would be a great video seeing you all practice up and then later on having a little tournament..
BOW BUILD FOR OSG? that might be a great bday or like christmas maybe even mothersday? idk just a thought. very nice video again LFG u never has disipointed me even some of the lesser quality ones still had great info or just good laughs lol.
oh and caint forget about osg and her new found skill. way to go and glad to hear she likes it, high fives to the kids and yall take care
Nice. I believe OSG is an angel.
as a bow hunter i enjoy the bow vids man really do
Mamma arms are real. I have said that for years. Luv ya guys.
She did great. Didn't even have an arm guard on????? When i first started shooting my arm was so bruised....she was Badass 😊
Get a couple of gallon milk jugs. poke a small hole on the bottoms, fill them with water and set them on top of your bales. The water will slowly seep into the bales, keeping them moist.
Lmao hearing rock some balls up from osg was priceless 😂❤
Love the trad stuff. Just got my first deer last week with my 63lb longbow. Goodluck this season 👊
Hey Aggies
You guys should go down and shoot with the A&M Archery Team and test your skills. Love that you guys are enjoying the sport!
Got a Ben Pearson recurve in '68 and been shooting trad bows since. Hackberry makes a decent bow, but you really need to make an osage bow. Awesome content!
GREAT JOB OSG!!!!!!!!
"lets rock some balls"- LFG 2023. we need that on a T Shirt
You are a lucky man to have such a pretty wife that is willing to try your things. Plus, she gave you some cutie pie kids.
You go OSG! You really explain things very well. 👏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸 ~ Texas
I like when OSG participates in the Great Outdoors
You guys are too cute. I just bought a new Hoyt yesterday and my shoulder is wrecked from shooting. Thanks for all the content over the years. You're one of my favorites.
Love this video glad you are working w Osg with archery. I am 70 yrs old but a owned and shot a Bear Grizzly 50lb for over 52 years. I had other bows including compound and hand made lemon wood , Osage and ash . I loved my Grizzly and killed dear, hog, coyote, geese, crow, rabbit and squirrel. I also did a bit of gar and carp hunting but used fiber glass taken down for bow fishing .
Great video, glad to see OSG shooting. There's so much I would love to say about the conversation with the Nugent's "we" had. It made me understand and learn more about draw pounds. But you know your stuff and definitely go with a lower poundage for OSG.
Much love and God Bless 🙏
I just got my first bow. The bass pro archery tech did say women do better with archery as beginners. I had great grouping and dialed my bow in pretty quick. I didn't think I'd be able to even think of actually hunting this year, but I'm practicing and by the end of season I may have a chance. So much to learn but so enjoyable. PSG you rock! Love you guys
Gods Grace your Fam! Keep them coming around!
That’s so freaking cool!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!
That was really nice shooting for first time
Possibly your best video
I’ve been loving the bow vids! 🔥
Oop kid number 3 coming lol. Great video
Girl power!!!! Way to go OSG!!!!
Lets.go. cant wait for hunting season... awesome channel LFG
Very impressive...goes to show how practice makes perfect!
U guys are so quiet love the channel and all your guys channels
FWAP say OSG s Arrow, Dead Deer💥!
Thanks , gotta see your progress👌.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Thank you for the tips great video guy's.
Loved it 😊
When I am pulled back on a nice deer coming in, the shot may take place at 15 yards or 30 yards. I used a single fixed vertical pin for 30+ years on my compound bow. I have never had a movable pin or multiple pin sight on my bow. At crunch time, I want simple! I switched to no pin a few years ago, & I will not go back to a pin sight. I use a peep, but no pin (EZ-V sight)! I practice all summer long, & I never touch my sight or rangefinder. I judge my arrow groups from unknown distances. It's taken some practice (I'm an old dog learning a new trick), but the EZ-V sight has made practice fun again The peep centers that V, and it's amazing how accurate it is (especially the windage). You just naturally punch the center of your aiming point. I shoot better when I don't remove all the instinctive parts of archery. Your homemade bow is cool! Good luck this coming season!
Love the family videos. God bless
Awesome video. The technique of moving your grip is called string walking and can be a great way of changing yardage.
Another awesome video!
You should get into flint knapping as well! It’s nice to see a youtuber get into primitive archery. It is very fun to build and very meditating. I recommend using Osage orange,Hickory,Black lotus, Yew for bow building, it’s fun to explore different hard woods!
OSG will be bringing home that 12 point deer this year.
I used to take a box and full it up with flat newspapers Everytime I target shot with a backing of hay bakes from around the house the winter before. As soon as the arrows started going through the bales into the shed I was tearing down the next year I would make another box. I don't know if they had stoppable targets the last century when I last shot a bow.
I have taken a few shots with my friends crossbow that is pretty easy. I think he takes maybe 30 yard shots with it.
Awesome dude
One thing to get that recurve even quieter, is to wrap some yarn around the string where it touches the limbs. Will make that recurve almost as quiet as the self bow
Absolutely love this!! Hope to see more archery from OSG!
You’ve got a good one!!!!!
You the man buddy, shooting good, try to work on setting that anchor point closer to face and keeping everything tighter…everyone is different and I’m sure you will get one just how your shooting it just helped me a lot with my recurve especially when I was in a tree hunting having that anchor point against my face every time rather than just aiming a flinging…hope the best for you this season man!! You are a awesome guy
Way to go OSG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌
! I’d love to see her get her own bow and start plinking Sir Rackley. You should definitely get her a nice one, and have her hone in on her target practice. Cheers with a frosty Adult beverage Brother 🫡🍻
Nice video.
You definitely have to get her a bow now. She is going to be a killer with it. She can step out the back door and let 2 go at some squirrels and bame dinner.
I have found when shooting traditional your anchor point needs to be solid with your drawing hand to keep your shots consistent right to left
Been shooting my single pin like this for the last 10 years. But I did recently upgrade to the Garmin pro😂
osg yaaaaaa
I think it is about time you hook OSG up with a 35# or 40# recurve. She is pretty good with yours already. Good call with the 3 Under, puts the arrow slightly more inline with the arrow, slightly less instinctual and a smidge more aiming down the shaft. My wife doesn't shoot archery but I will say she is naturally steadier on a rifle than I am. Women seem to have a steadier hand and like you said more take instruction better than we do. Us men seem to let our pride get in the way on occasion.
Soak the hay bales in Waterman
If you end up getting a bow for OSG I'm gonna recommend the cheapo black hunter takedown Amazon bow. $100 and it shoots fantastic. I'm also an amateur bowyer that wanted a production bow to practice with so I got a 50lb and it shoots 400 spine arrows with a 200 gr field point (total weight is right around 550 gr) at 175fps all day. My self bows are usually around 140-150 fps at the same weight and same arrows.
like He doesnt have ANY hookups?..... DUde drives a free 100 thousand dollar boat each year... IM sure he knows someone
Wonder Woman doesn't have sh!t on the awesome OSG! I wish I was a 1/4 of the woman, wife and mom as she is!
Osg should buy a elk cow tag and show you how it's done😂
I mean if she doesn't want to I'd totally watch you go for a cow elk tag with a recurve 👍
OSG will be out shooting you soon......just saying. Love the video! Are you hunting the same lease or a new one? Have a great weekend.
When I pickup a compound I feel like I am lifting an anvil.
I would watch her do anything.😍
Does Texas have a minimum bow draw weight for hunting deer?
👍🤙
Googan squad elk shirt🤔
OSG needs a 35 # Recurve or so she can anchor. What's The Lightest Bow weight You can Hunt with in Texas? I hate to see Her Hurt Herself
She's a natural
Comments+1
OSG needs her a custom lighter bow
Have you ever used a clicker I think it would help
Look at OSG lookin like Lara Croft 😆
Looks like you could add an inch or so on your compound
Get her a #30 bow and I bet she'd get good real quick.
Sorry to say this but if ur going to traditional hunt with a compound take the sights off and use it like a recurve bow
You should buy her a bow I bought my wife a diamond bow.
There's a much easier way to string that type of bow You step through with your left leg Place the bottom on top of you instep of right foot Grab top with left hand and bend the bow to string it An Old man showed Me that bec he saw how was doing it Witch was the way you did Come to find out He used to work with Ben Person
I won't be satisfied until you run one down on horseback. Lol
I tried to get my daughter into archery but she only likes her guns.
We could see her focus while she was trying your bow, which is way to heavy for her... Get OSG a Bear Montana Longbow in 30 or 35lbs or even 40lbs (check your local hunting reg for the minimum legal hunting weight, just in case), some 600 grain arrows in the right length and let her rip... I bet she will be out shooting you out to about 25 yds in just a couple months...
get her a bow and instruction from a professional. she will enjoy it so much more
Professional ?... shes married to one!
You are killing me. I came to your channel seeing an invalid going into surgery coming out of surgery. I skip ahead I think five years and I’m a sissy watching expert archer with skills I think to make a bow string it and shoot at a tennis ball? I don’t know if I got all that right with the bow made of a certain wood or something the string of something and you strung with a fuzzy to keep the noise down and an arrow not made of wood but some kind of carbon fiber? How did this person with a brain tumor and having it removed with a black eye on the side of the tumor turn into this expert archer. You see I didn’t know you. I know about some results of other with tumors removed. I’m so happy for your strength. I relate. Let’s see what happens here with your archery skills?
Oh we all knew she was a better shot don’t edit the video😂😂
Ain't that wierd God made deer God made the idea to make a bow. A deer can duck a longer shot, but a bow arrow drops during flight.
First
Weak🤡
I see some venison in your future.
30lb bow to start....
She's cute asf
She haas to get her own bow to really learn. Being over weighted is the worst thing you can do to learn
Easy to say 15 yrds when you hunt fence and private land bud lmfao
Please keep Military, Veterans, and First Responders in your prayers PTSD is NOT a JOKE !!! NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER BY THE GRACE OF GOD!!!!!
I think you've been watching too many primitive videos if you think you're going to start a fire by hitting a rock with your arrow
When its THIS FREAKEN HOT.......Shoot the bow, thats what I do, cause fishing isnt always on par in this heat....🤣. Looking forward to the bow build since im now just getting into the bow....Good job on this video! I learned a little too....
I got a recurve 55 lb the other month for the first time and already looking at the one from Bear you have. I love it sooo much. Second week out, from 25 yards, already hitting almost center target within 1/2 inch with no site, just bare bow. Thats what im trying to achieve, is just being natural at it. after 30 rounds my arms gets alittle tired or strained. Does that happen with you on your recurve?
Good rule of thumb. I’m no expert but 10-12 grains per pound draw weight for arrow weight. For instance my trad bows longbow and recurve are between 58-62lbs I keep my arrows around 600 grains. That 10rains per pound has helped me a lot.
2ND AMENDMENT 4 EVER!!!!
TRUMP 2024!!!!
