    Sensational! The wealth of information I get from your channel is priceless. The only reason I own a pair of the Aftershox Titanium is because of a video you did in the past (probably over a year ago?). I had never even heard of “bone conduction” - but once you did a review and explained everything so impeccably I was instantly sold on it and was able to get one later. I have enjoyed it ever since!! Now I will be saving for the upgraded Aeropex model that’s sleeker and more comfortable!!! Thank you 😊!!!

    Im posting this comment after purchasing the openmove.
    I ended up buying the openmove from a local shop - the aeropex was twice as expensive.
    At the shop, they had the aeropex available to try -It was small, light and doesnt feel like its on your head at all. The entire mould can move and become conformant to the shape of your head, including the ear hook. I have a rather large head - I've always required xl helmets for my motorcycles and the same applied bicycle as well. The aeropex seemd to just fit my head and didnt come in the way irrespective of how I moved my head (I also wear glasses).
    The above being said, I just shrugged and thought the openwave would be good enough for someone who needs it for the ocassional run and frequent bike rides.
    Took it home and just put it on. Boy oh boy, the difference is beyond just the 3g in weight - the aeropex is just that much more comfortable that I simply can NOT imagine wearing the openwave when I go for my bike rides etc. I can live with the difference in sound quality - im not after the best sound quality when Im riding my bike. I can NOT live with something that isnt comfortable. The culprit was the ear hooks on the openmove - it is rigid and wont shape around your ear. Also, the pods that sit above your jaw bone is bigger. The big and burly earhooks of the openwave also came in the way of my glasses.
    This made the openwave a deal breaker for me.
    If you have a large head and wear glasses, I would urge you to strongly consider the aeropex over this.

      Thank you for this! While I have a small head, I wear quite thick glasses, which meant a slightly bulkier frame. Ear hooks have been the bane of my existence. Aeropex mini it is!

      @@monoped8437 that’s because the commenter spelled it wrong LOL. It’s “otosclerosis” - my uncle has that. It’s a condition where the ear bones don’t vibrate like they’re meant to, causing hearing loss that’s not associated with the nerve. Then again, I have hearing loss too and “good nerves” (but bad cochleas). Lots of things can cause hearing loss!

    That's very useful, thank you. When I bought a pair of Aftershokz, I was torn between the Aeropex and the Xtrainerz, and in the end, opted for the Xtrainerz. They are the most waterproof of them (useful should I ever get in a swimming pool again!) but are essentially an MP3 player and don't have Bluetooth, but instead have a 4GB storage for audio files. So it's a bit fiddly as I have to load up what I want to listen to in advance, but it means I'm not reliant on having a phone with me when I'm out.

    I've been looking at investing in bone conduction headphones for a while now, ever since I saw a blind girl wear them. We were getting ready to cross an intersection here in Colorado Springs, CO. She said they work great for her being blind/vision impaired. For me I love listening to music when I walk my dog or just while I'm doing things around the house. So I need to be able to hear what's going on around me. I would love to test a set for myself so I know which one to get. Your video was a really great presentation on both products.

    I just got the Openmove at a good price. Was pleasantly surprised by the sound! Wow! I did not have the unfair expectation they would be as good as a traditional headphone. The bass is not high, but I don't think its fair to compare with regular headphones. The sound is clean - even if the bass is not powerful - you can really hear the individual notes. But the number one thing is the volume level. On the Openmove I have to turn them all the way up , and almost all the way up on phone. It vibrates on my face. If the Aeropex are louder, and bonus having more bass, they would be ideal for me and I would be willing to pay the cost difference. You did not mention volume level, or bass level. Can you please help? I hate to put a manufacturer through buying both and sending one back. Thank you very much for anyone with experience. This is a great review btw

      I'll be honest, I used to own a (working pair) pair of the titanium. When I initially started using them, I experienced no issues; fairly comfortable to wear, with the occasional aches on my temples which I think was a result of me looking up and down too often from reading large suspended boards at work. I believe when I was in the 3month mark of wearing them (not to mention the massive rollout of 5g), I started to experience more light headaches when using them.. and it would resolve itself about an hour or so after taking them off. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but that's my personal experience. I do miss them, and I trust the brand overall compared to others I've seen (haven't tried, tbh), and I just can't bring myself to wear in-ear buds anymore after using these things lol . Best of luck to you, friend.

    The OpenMove model has a terrible fit. When the buds are placed right where they should be for good audio quality, the band around the back of the head sticks out and if you move your head up or down, it gets knocked around a bit and moves the buds. It's a constant adjustment at times.

      I don't use it very often as a mic and never while riding, but I've used it for a job interview an got the job! My husband has said he couldn't hear me well a couple of times when using it, which could be my phone. I've not done enough testing on it to be sure. I will be sure to include this in my next review. They do make a model that is specifically for desk use with an external mic added on.

    I returned my Aftershokz Aeropex today.
    I bought it yesterday. It was great in every way, except one thing: I expected it to be ONLY bone conduction, and not both bone conduction and the regular in-ear headphone.
    When I turned it on and put it on the table, it was so loud that I could hear it from outside my room! It was like a loudspeaker.
    I don't understand why they added the regular in-ear speaker function to it. It was really a pity that I had to return it.
    Does anyone know any headphone that has ONLY bone conduction sound, and not in-ear sound?

    • @OneLessCar
      @OneLessCar 2 года назад +5

      That would be the table conducting the sound and amplifying it 😂
      The device has to play sound for there to be vibrations to conduct.

      Thanks for your reply.
      I also held it in my "hand". I turned the volume up to "middle", and could hear it clearly when it was in my hand, ie a distance of about 30 centimetres from my ears.
      When I put it on highest level, it was really loud and clear. I would not call it headphone anymore, but loudspeaker!
      If it has no traditional speaker, then the problem was only my specific device, and not a general one. That is still strange.
      Can you please test this by holding your Aeropex in your "hand", while on highest level, and see if you hear anything?

    Generally IP67 isn't considered "fully waterproof." That would be IP68. IP67 headphones aren't something you'd want to fully immerse in water, like for swimming. They would be fine running or biking in the rain though. I wouldn't use IP55 in the rain.

      @Xantulle 3 года назад

      The beep is extremely loud yeah! If you have sensitive ears, the beeps will hurt when e.g. changing volume. I've been in contact with Aftershokz and they said that they have lowered the beep volume by 3 decibels on their production line. So if you get one that has been produced recently, it should be good. They couldn't tell me when they've made the change, so you can't know for sure until you take it out of the box and try it.

      I came from Trekz Titanium (2+ years of usage) and liked the way beep was implemented there. It's volume depends on the current volume setting of your earphones. Makes sense.
