    Sparking creates some of the most frustrating interactions in this game, but air gc is completely useless and an active grief when you use it on accident. Let gohan have fun with his legs bro!

      It's also one of these mechanics that isn't super common or played around in the meta, so the annoyance factor is lessened
      Playing against another Jam and clashing ryuujins in neutral is still one of the funniest things I've done in Guilty Gear

      Yeah, he wanted a longer list. 95% love clashes. It just looks to cool. And its not really unfair, its pretty straight forward, if yours is quicker or Red Gogeta's, you just win the clash. But you gotta mash quick too.

      Under no circumstance would I ever want a priority system where a button just autoloses to another when they would overlap on the same frame. ESPECIALLY in a situation you are trying to abare out of potentially degenerate pressure. Clash mechanic is by far the better alternative.

      But moves can always clash if the characters' hurtboxes aren't touching the hitboxes

      @@truesdale7388I mean, yeah, it’s good as a flavor thing, it’s moreso that in a game where staying on your opponent to pressure them, activating a relatively slow charge that holds you still isn’t that great, especially when options that beat charge like beams can lead to combos. Which is fine, I think the games where you charge each time you knock your opponent away get tedious.
      The buff to make it deflect ki blasts was good, made it a decent way to build meter at a range if you read your opponent.

    I'd definitely put my vote in for autocombo on whiff. Its gotten SLIGHTLY better with rollback but i still have daily nightmares about opponents facerolling the light button in delay netcode and not being able to fight back because the lag felt like trying to throw a punch in your dreams.

      ​@@nyantheburrito839Air guard cancel? You usually just do it on accident, you're usually not being mixed while you're still in the air, and people usually recover in time to block it. Almost always a guaranteed punish because of how jailing with air normals works. I've never seen someone do it on purpose.

    I straight up didn't know air gc was in the game. I have like 6-700 hours in this game and I had no idea that this mechanic even existed, and I watch a ton of pro play. Wow.

    For me the 2 worsts mechanics are Limit Break and Level 1 into Level 3 while in limit break.
    Having your health bar deleted by any stupid hit (and we know how many stupid things are in this game that are hard to avoid) just deletes your character with little effort.
    We already had sparking being really good in a last stand, we didn’t need another damage buff, AND NOT EVEN NEAR something like level 1 into level 3
    Before you at least needed a good combo and level 3 into mix to start the comeback. Now you can kill out of a super dash or any hit basically. I want the people to be able to do a comeback while thinking and outsmarting the other player with skill, not just a random power up the game gave you bc you were losing.

    I can’t believe I popped off at this video. I knew it was AGC the second I booted this video. I’ve never seen a more pointless mechanic. I literally just want to call an assist before I get staircased but if I hold forward just a TINY bit then I just have to say goodbye to my next character

    If you're saying ki charge is worse, you dont know what you're talking about lol. Ki charges recovery isnt nearly as bad as it used to be and you get meter from it AND you block ki blasts. while air guard cancel has literally no up sides besides doing it during a few characters air specials.

      You trade when you have like one character hitting high and one hitting low, but if they're both the same priority and area you get a trade.

    I don't know if I'm crazy but isn't there a mechanic that makes you unable to raw tag after block stun for a seemingly arbitrary amount of time? Like there's just a big X on that specific character assist. Probably a side product of making people unable to instantly call assists after a block string (which fair enough) but dang does it feel terrible expecting a raw tag and instead standing there looking stupid and getting hit.

      yeah theres a cool down period to raw tag after getting hit or blocking just as theres a cool down period to call assist after blocking or getting hit. some players use the red X to punish a raw tag but then at the high level players use the red X to fake a raw tag and trick their opponent.

    Air guard cancel should GIVE a bar for the balls it takes to try it.
    They put it in the game because of season 2 snap meta but they killed snap AND added it in the same patch right?

    I hate the clash system. It's too complicated and ridiculously rare. It's not frequent enough to be worth labbing almost, but if you don't you'll be lost when it randomly happens.

      MANY ppl use 6M as offense and its 0 on block, so if you block it, learning to effectively clash when you both press 5L is super important.

      @@y-hussas soon as I see you use 6M once I stopped respecting your offense entirely simply because that is their offense in most cases and once they see their 6M is not working they either scramble or wait full screen and wait for their assist to return but a decent or good player will simply start using it more sparingly and I got to adapt appropriately which is rare on DBFZ to find a genuinely good player at times who isn’t cheesing or has a horrible connection🤷‍♂️

      Not really, just have to have a good reaction time. It is demanding but possible. Some of the sickest clips I have is because of an unexpected clash when or lose.

    Before I watch I'm going to predict the WORST is Super dash since it lets you cross full screen very quickly and do some other funky things like it randomly turning

    For me the worst mechanic in Dragon Ball Z is the sparking mechanic. I understand if utilized correctly it's a great mechanic and I often use it to finish a combo that wouldn't kill otherwise but will with spark, however I often find people just use it with one character and end up just mashing whatever buttons work to get that first hit in. Or end up rushing in spamming Auto combos all the time. And the sad thing is even at medium or high level people still will do the strategy. It's so annoying to have to stop everything I'm doing and wait for them to rush me and 2h them.
    The second mechanic that I probably hate would be the auto combo and I just hate that because some characters have obnoxiously irritating to punish Auto combos. And even after 6000 hours I never expect the person to do another Auto combo right after failing and getting punished doing one😅

      Probably my favorite mechanic though is the changes to the Ki blast mechanic. A lot of the new combo mechanics added in the final update really did had a lot of cool new combo routes and stuff like that.

      I still hate C assist if used improperly but I can't say that I hate it as a mechanic anymore as much as I used to. I mostly get frustrated when people just have three of them and constantly spam them forcing you to change your play style. I think the reason everyone hates them is they're relatively hard to deal with in delay, but I myself have learned that online they make combos a lot easier to perform and what are my tournament friends always has at least two of them in his team if he's doing an online tournament. And some of the combos you can do with them are stupid and fun.
      And finally if a person isn't good at fighting games but likes to play the game they are a good way for them to learn combos and get around some of the harder mechanics, and some players just flat out use these assists so well😊

      Sparking is good, but now it’s kinda braindead with the super dash cancels and the special into special thing
      It always had been something super strong, and i like it a lot since it’s kinda like transforming or having an install that severely affects how the game is played
      But you can still get read on or bait it, or force it, or get hit and that makes the opponent make a different combo to stall the timer, I think sparking gives A LOT of good interactions, moments and cool things to the table.
      Is it kinda braindead now? Yes, and pretty wack sometimes, but still kinda hype and not a lot of ppl is doing actual special into special combos from what I’m seeing.

      To be fair, there is great gameplay of dbdz out there, and most of the characters in the game are really well designed at this point (except Bardock and kid buu imo) and the main disparities are in how homogeneous the game used to be and is slowly creeping away from.
      If this game has the same philosophy as season one and 2, the meta would be much worse and playing other characters besides top tiers would be pointless.
      At least in this version, creating a team is more about your personal taste and not the power level of the characters in the patch.
