My friend that lives on Betelgeuse said it already blew up. They stay on Orion now. Hope this helps?

The weird thing is that this supernova explosion could already have happened hundreds of years ago, but we haven’t experienced it yet

It might already have gone supernova, honestly; its light takes ~800 years to get here…

Light from Betelgeuse takes around 750 years to reach earth - so we're seeing it as it was in the year 1274

The star is 700 light years away. When they say it's "about to explode" it means it has already exploded and the wake of the explosion is currently traveling through interstellar space to reach us. It might take up to 700 years for that. Or just 100. We'll see.

Appreciate your thoughts....however...science has stated many times that looking into the stars is like looking into the past...the further we look out...the farther back in time we go...something like this you should first say how long light takes to get from there to earth

Betelguese is 400 to 600 light years from earth, at that distance there would only be a light show. But if Betelguese for some reason emitted a gamma ray burst and the burst was pointed at our system we might have a big problem.

If it takes about 700 years for the light to reach us,how long would it take for us to feel the effects of the explosion ?

    Q. This is a thought. If Beetlejuice gose supernova. What would happen if it didn't go supernova. But it went hyprenova. To a neutron star or a pulsar. Can a hyprenova hit us? And last longer, in its show for us if it don't hit us. Don't live in fear. If it does happen, there's not much you can do. But be in the show.

One small nugget you'd do well to lodge regarding this 'giant behemoth' is it's also linked to the Greek Bacchus, so take note - plasma is a glow-mode medium looking just like the fluorescent tubes we all used to have. This ambient light is distributed equally everywhere, no hot spot sun or sharp shadows, its scattering light. Draw a circle and place a dot in its centre. The circle is big but the dot clearly is not. Glowing plasma from microwaved grapes with a small seed core in the centre. Like Dorothy said, this ain't Kansas.

The fall of the giant has been occurring in slow motion past to present sending pulsating signals. The mental image most get about this, is what they see in the Dragonball universe (flaming onslaughts and all sorts of obliteration) but it’s something they want to”see” but rather experience the various manifestations of it’s aftermath: not to forget more tidal waves and hurricanes more fierce than ever!

If it was close enough to harm us, we'd be fried by neutrinos before we even knew the supernova happened. The light takes a while to fight its way out through the layers of the star, while the neutrinos get out immediately.

It was not a dust cloud ! Plasma by it self can not create dust to the best of all my understanding without some grain like structure being introduced , I question what grain like structure could exist at the temperatures within Betelgeuse's chromosphere . Plasma being a state of matter somewhere between the solid and gaseous , consisting of ions and charged electrons , that give off massive energy when they (the molecules) collide . So the mysterious question would be what could possibly be of microscopic molecular scale and solid within the corona of Betelgeuse to become introduced into the plasma and what process could have caused the energy to do so . The answers given so far , have been far to simple . Lets try to share the truth soon .

Honestly as long as we get a few days of seeing it head towards us first it is what it is but i bet the sky would look amazing at night for those few days before we died lol Its wild though how our planet has been so stable for so long to the point its harbored life for millions of years and allowed us to advance so much. Like I do think there is other life out there but i think it is insanely rare due to the volatile nature of the universe. Like the smallest thing not happening or knocking us a few degrees out of orbit would destroy everything. Not only that in the short period we would have to live life it would be literal hell on earth and total anarchy.

Knowing that we are in the Age of the Apocalypse since the age of 12, I have been expecting a cosmic event to occur. And Betelgueses could be just that event. Of interest Betelgeuese means 'the coming' and Jesus himself indicated that his second 'coming' will be heralded by cosmic events.
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring."
