He did the right thing by dodging the question. He barely ever acknowledged his previous relationships publicly and their girlfriends still got harassed, cyber-bullied and even himself got stalked as a result. Clearly there's a segment of the Outlander fandom that is still batshit so, better be safe than sorry.

I didn’t know about outlander until I visited Edinburgh and inverness in 2019. Feel in love with the country first before the series. I’m rewatching the series from season 1 and still loving it. I hope to be back after this covid nightmare eases.
The King of Men. The Artful Dodger. He knows how to deflect, that's for sure. Sam is canny about the press. When he kissed Ms. Clarke publicly and walked around with his arm around her in NYC he knew full well what would happen. The pictures would be all over the place.
It may be his way of announcing their relationship without saying a word. But his personal life doesn't belong to anyone but himself. He's so good to his fans. He deserves our respect.

An intimacy coordinator is there to ensure the safety of everyone on set including cast ofc but also definitely crew/producers/director/etc. while working on intimate scenes- they also help the actors understand the meaning behind the scenes they’re doing- it really doesn’t have much to do with techniques/glances/touching at all (though that could be a small part of it) & I agree that sam & caitriona wouldn’t need that as much as maybe other actors on that set
You feel they didn't need that, well apparently Sam felt exactly the opposite. And probably the rest of the crew felt the same since the coordinator is on board. And guess what - it's them who actually ARE in this show so probably they know a teeny tiny bit better.

Watched it and it got 2 and a half stars! I must have watched a different programme than those reviewers because I thought it was brilliant! Each to their own.
How ridiculous... for fans to be upset. Outlander takes slot of time to film plus all the extra interviews... come on fans be appreciative of all the hard work done to make Outlander our favorite show!!!

I feel for Sam so much. Not only that he has to answer all the same questions about the show over and over again for ten years now but also to put up with those hideous reporters invading his private life in dirty boots. And he still, after all those years, deals with this 💩 with such a class. He deserves peace & quiet time in his life and I wish him with all my heart someone who will love him to the bits and who give him all the happiness he deserves.

Darn it - wish I knew about this event yesterday as the Academy is only a few blocks from my apartment! I would have happily waited outside to see them! Good to see him artfully dodge the last question! No one would have known he's seeing someone if those paparazzi type photos weren't taken without his knowledge and then shared everywhere.
