Mt. Nokogiri, according to Japan Travel is named for its resemblance to the traditional Japanese saw of the same name. It's one hour and 15 minutes drive from Tokyo but you can take JR Rail pass from Tokyo to Soga Station. The hike is a blend of walking through forest and climbing stone stairs, it takes 1-2 hours, depending on route taken or you can take the rope way tram for a bit relaxed experience.
