- Agile development operates in Sprints, typically lasting two to four weeks.
- Each Sprint aims to deliver working software and involves selecting user stories from the backlog.
**Regression Testing in Agile:**
- In Agile, new user stories and functionalities are continuously added in each Sprint.
- Existing functionalities must be retested to ensure they remain unaffected by changes or additions.
- The challenge is managing the increasing number of test cases for Regression Testing.
**The Role of Automation:**
1. **Automate Regression Test Cases:**
- Identify and automate test cases crucial for Regression Testing.
2. **Prioritize Regression Candidates:**
- Prioritize test cases based on factors like criticality, usage frequency, and business impact.
3. **Automate the Regression Suite:**
- Assign team members to automate identified regression candidates.
4. **Build an Automated Regression Test Suite:**
- Over time, create a comprehensive Automated Regression Test Suite by adding automated test cases from each Sprint.
**Benefits of Automation:**
- Reduces manual testing effort.
- Focuses manual testing on new functionalities and their potential impacts.
- Ensures the application maintains its expected behavior as it evolves.

Do we have seperate Regression Test Suite for each and every sprint? Let suppose a feature is not going to change in current sprint, should I run automtion test cases in that feature?

When we say existing functionality it is considered all the features present till previous sprints including what is present in production. This makes regression testing difficult. What is the effective way if automation is not present. It is not possible to progressively automate if there is one tester involved

I mean using a waterfall approach, can regression testing be done is S/W testing??
I'm newbie and start learning testing 1st time in my life. All was going smooth. But you directly jump to Regression testing in agile without explaining what is aglie what is scrum what are sprints. Really didn't understand this lecture. This lecture is tough for me. When you are teaching must explain each word.
