  • Welcome to our biggest Highlights video we've ever done. Rather than doing a brief Highlights video, we've gone all in on this tournament and have produced a chunky sized doube episode Highlights package for you.
The tournament is called "The Prestige" and is one of the year's long-standing NCAA Pac-12 tournaments, dating back 24 years.
The course for this tournament was the Greg Norman Course at PGA West, located in the Californian desert 2 hours east of Los Angeles.
Conditions this year were absolutely ideal for golf, and with Karl having notched a 5th Place finish here previously and needing to climb the PGA Tour University rankings to secure a Tour Card in May, Karl was prepped and ready for a big week, and returned a T2 finish.
    Karl's scores: 70, 66 & 66
    Result: Tied 2nd
The Tournament link is : www.prestigepg...
There is another useful link at: www.amateurgol...
However, the NCAA is not (officially) using the Golfstat scoring system anymore, so we have no link to the scores for you to look up.

Karl's swing looks tight, and I mean that in the best possible way. So happy to see Karl have the full collegiate golf career experience, and at Stanford no less. These will be great memories and the pro tour will always be there. If fact, maybe several pro tours. Good luck, Karl getting the fast track to the PGA tour. Would love to see Karl interviewed by Dad where he gives us a review of his thoughts on playing college golf, the team life, etc.

I'll be attempting to do something along those lines after Stanford's next tournament.

Been watching this guy for well over 3 years now! Never fails to hit the ball so well!
I was wondering, if Karl is hitting a big draw one day, does he have any thought process to straighten out his shot?
    Thanks 🎉

What is Karl up to after graduation? Does finishing 26th in the PGA University ranking get him on any tour?

    • @KarlGolf
      @KarlGolf  7 месяцев назад +2

Top 20 on the PGA Tour University rankings get a card- ranging from 1 PGA Tour Card, 9 Korn Ferry Tour places and 10 PGA Tour Americas cards, so until these guys finish the NCAA Finals, they won't know which tour (if any) they'll start on.

I find it odd he started the final day on hole 10. Even if they are playing split tees, the top half of the field should start on 1 and the bottom half on 10.

It was a weird situation where Karl started the final round in 5th, yet the other leaders were 3 or 4 groups after him, so he had no idea of whether to attack a couple of the holes or not, bearing in mind that he also needed to avoid hurting the team score should he come to grief whilst being aggressive.

Been watching from OZ - seen and heard of many + handicap players who could not make it on tour - hopefully, the college experience has equipped him to make a go of it - will watch with interest.

Just 2 of the advantages of college are (1) getting a degree that can set you up in a professional career should pro golf not pan out for whatever reason, and (2) the additional maturity and support that the college players have available at the top college programs which they may not have available if tourning pro on a shoestring budget.

I've always enjoyed watching College golf however its presented more than Korn or SOME PGA Tour events.
So much talent at the D1/D2 level. Its cool to see players mature and develop their games. Love it. Thanks for documenting
