I now re watch the art and the movies of that time and i notice many things, it was a communism that was somehow merged with the soul of tragedy that was the fountain of all that painful albanian history, albania probably the most massacred nation in europe, by so many invaders, and yet it found a way to be proud and positive, but only for that short time, it was a dream, almost like we were building our after-world. but the experience of waking up from that illusion was so painful that albania today is burried in a deep layer of depression, one which i feel it will never recover from.The one thing that torments me, is that even now i dont know wherther to hate or to praise this time, on one hand it was perhaps the only time in history when albania achieved something, it became something special, but on the other hand it caused an incredible catastrophe and terrible deaths. This song has a very interesting story. After she sang this song, at the festival she won first prize and the entire audience was shocked. the press of the time considered her performance "The volcano that exploded on stage" The reviews from the academia of the time was that she interpreted with incredible passion and strength a song that should have been too heavy for her young shoulders but that she courageously made her own. but this is where the story takes a dark twist/ Marina recently appeared in a documentary to address the fact that after she sang in this festival she no longer appeared on stage, there were many rumors as to why, but as she explained, it all boils down to this, she was a star that was shining to brightly for the mediocrity and brutality that was the Albanian communist party, of the time. Albania was run by an incredibly inept decayed leadership of brutal peasantry that after the cultural revolution had been installed by hoxha to fill the party ranks, and due to his pathological paranoia he had ruthlessly eliminated anyone brilliant or talented that he considered a threat to his authoritarianism. Hoxha was a psychotic maniac who needed to be the center of all things, and he had a devilish ability to sniff for potential threats, which he eliminated by constructing carefully laid traps, and then erecting a narrative which ultimately led to either jail or execution. after that he would appoint a loyal peasant, a usefull idiot who would do envers bidding being utterly brutal and unable to challenge enver in intellect. one of these idiotic peasants people who was in charge of the artistic department called marina to his office, and her friends had told her how to behave and to watch out. she was scared and he asked her to go and sing at the workers gathering in the steel factory in elbasan. but the brave girl refused, the party secretary asked you refuse?? she said yes because i had already decided that i will never sing again. After this incident Marina was interned into a village in the deep mountains of albania and became a village teacher. She never sang again

This song has a very interesting story. After she sang this song, at the festival she won first prize and the entire audience was shocked. the press of the time considered her performance "The volcano that exploded on stage" The reviews from the academia of the time was that she interpreted with incredible passion and strength a song that should have been too heavy for her young shoulders but that she courageously made her own. but this is where the story takes a dark twist/
Marina recently appeared in a documentary to address the fact that after she sang in this festival she no longer appeared on stage, there were many rumors as to why, but as she explained, it all boils down to this, she was a star that was shining to brightly for the mediocrity and brutality that was the Albanian communist party, of the time. Albania was run by an incredibly inept decayed leadership of brutal peasantry that after the cultural revolution had been installed by hoxha to fill the party ranks, and due to his pathological paranoia he had ruthlessly eliminated anyone brilliant or talented that he considered a threat to his authoritarianism. Hoxha was a psychotic maniac who needed to be the center of all things, and he had a devilish ability to sniff for potential threats, which he eliminated by constructing carefully laid traps, and then erecting a narrative which ultimately led to either jail or execution. after that he would appoint a loyal peasant, a usefull idiot who would do envers bidding being utterly brutal and unable to challenge enver in intellect.
one of these idiotic peasants people who was in charge of the artistic department called marina to his office, and her friends had told her how to behave and to watch out. she was scared and he asked her to go and sing at the workers gathering in the steel factory in elbasan. but the brave girl refused, the party secretary asked you refuse?? she said yes because i had already decided that i will never sing again. After this incident Marina was interned into a village in the deep mountains of albania and became a village teacher. She never sang again

Enver was the biggest threat to his own ideals of communism and didn't realize it until it was too late.

Marina gabimi yt I vetem ishte qe kendove kengen "Mesnate" te Vace Zeles.. Ne ate kohe Vacja ishte shume e pozitshme dhe nuk do ta lejonte qe dikush ti bente revansh.
