- Today we dive behind the scenes with Andy Good and Oska Baynes as they breakdown Andy's most recent race at the Christchurch Marathon. Not only did Andy win, but he also set a PB of 2:21:38 all while being paced by his best mate Oska (who was mic'd up). It's a really interesting insight into how the Elites operate and what is really happening at the front of the pack.

appreciate the unintentional pacing for the half too! (I was the guy in the green vic uni singlet)
genius idea. this is a super underrated video. Absolute gold!
Cheers Danny!
Wow! So much fun to watch this. What a great idea! Oska’s passion to get Andy to 30/32k was unreal. Also good luck to Oska for his preparation towards GC.
Both of them are top blokes, so cool to see the camaraderie between them
Loved this content. The support was unreal. Great teamwork and insight
Thank you, glad you found it helpful!
This could be one of the best marathon videos I’ve watched, especially with the footage with the mic and also the breakdown!!
Appreciate that! Hopefully more to come
Such a good watch! Bros pacing and energy was elite.
These boys are on another level for sure! Inspiring to watch
Really insightful, thanks for this unique view into the elite speed
Hopefully more to come
Really cool, I saw myself at 19:20, I remember these guys blasting past at the time. What great athletes. Great to see this kind of content.
Really enjoyed the way you put this together. Great to hear what the runners at the front are thinking both during and post race. Quality content.
Appreciate that!
Loving watching this so much. Caught myself there at the 17 km mark. I couldn't believe people weren't keeping out of the way for the front runners of all the race categories and genders it was actually stressful to watch and be part of. I feel like the marshals (although volunteers) could have been prepped to help a bit more with asking people to keep left (or whatever was safest) to make way. Still a hugely fun event and can't wait for next year and more great content from you Mack.
Always a tricky one really isn't it! Graeme (who was on the bike filming the boys) actually did a great job of getting people out of the way
This was sick!! Inspiring to see the elites and the tiny 1% things they talk about. Epic vid Mack shot bro
Easy brother, glad it could be of some insight
Awesome!!!! 😃 Really enjoyed watching this! I even find myself in the video!
Epic Liz! It was a great day! I hope your race went well
Really enjoyed watching this!!
Thanks mate
Loved this
Thanks mate
Epic watch, cheers Macca!
20km has me stressed out of my mind
Cheers brother
Lots of parts of this had me pretty stressed haha
Love the content🙌🙌🙌
Cheers bro
I'm glad i managed to miss all the traffic by only racing the 10k that looked quite stressful overtaking around Hagley
Does look pretty hectic
Really enjoyed watching this. What are their and your opinions about having it a 4 lap course? Best as it is or better as a two lap course? I know logistically two laps might be more challenging.
I'm sure the boys will echo my thoughts: 4 lap course pro has to be the crowd support, people can see you multiple times a lap, thats epic. The corners and people dodging as Andy & Oska had to do definitely makes the 4 laps a bit more challenging. The old 2 lap course, from memory I believe Oska said they would lose about 6 seconds per kilometre through the Red Zone due to the uneven service.
