Why do people say modern gaming sucks? I already see that a lot of these will likely to be bangers. Expedition 33, Exodus, KCD2, Avowed, Solasta 2, Outer Worlds 2, Dawnwalker, Witcher 4 and so many more! Also really excited about the next Hello Games game!
I think when many use the term "modern" they are more so referring to games that implement modern day themes / language etc I am also super excited to see more on Light No Fire!
Modern games mean woke games, the devs want to lecture you about ... their usual themes. Like Avowed or the Witcher 4 are confirmed to be such games. The practice shows not many people are interested to be lectured. You decide whether or not this appeals to you.
@Csatadi "confirmed"? Confirmed by who? Conspiracy theorists and grifters? Yeah, no, I don't think so. Every single game in this video is modern. What I mean by that is the advancements in technologies, new concepts that devs come up with, mixing of multiple genres and implementing them well, etc. If you only focus on one thing - like oh no! Ciri is a protag in W4, it's gonna be so woke, even tho no previous games, including the latest banger Phantom Liberty, indicate any of that. I judge studios by their previous work, and so far neither Obsidian or CDPR disappointed me. Besides, Baldur's Gate 3 was "woke", yet nobody is complaining about that. Almost like pronouns in a select screen doesn't define how good the game will be.
Eternal Strands: The interaction with the environment looks very well done in my opinion. KCD2: Looks cool! Monster Hunter wilds: I have the previous Monster Hunter on Steam and I have to say that I don't like it, although I have to admit that I think the game mechanics and style look cool. TFB Khazan: Looks cool! South of Midnight: Now I'm curious about the story. Mandragora: I like that enemies can also damage each other. Tainted Grail: Looks cool. I also like "use it and get better at it." Crimson Desert: This is my personal favorite, let's see how it goes. Pat of Exile 2: No brainer! Good game. Enshrouded: I like sandbox RPG games in general. It can be immersive if done right. Solasta 2: Didn't expect a sequel. Cool! Everything else looks promising too. Great list.
Trying to remember what early access games I have to add to the list, Swordhaven and Age of Reforging come to mind, Trouble Shooter Banished Children could be good if the previous one is anything to go by.
Hoping to see something about the KOTOR remake this year as well. Cyberpunk 2 is still many years away, but if they make the environment more interactive and give us more side activities, it'll be a massive hit.

Excited for this year, Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 sounds like spiritual successor to Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. Solasta is one of my favorite games so excited for 2. I'm wondering what Avowed is going to do with the POE setting. And along with Larian, Owlcat says they are announcing what they are working on later this year.

Love the fable series, but after seeing the reveal and direction, they’re going to take that I have about as much interest in it as I do Ubisoft assassin‘s Creed or anything BioWare 👎 Gamers ain’t making those projects . But anyway, that’s about where I’m at with that. So excited for kd2 and escaping back into that world. Looking forward to your videos on that game as well… As long as it’s something that’s not gonna spoil anything for me😉😁👊
The one I'm most excited for is Exodus, Mass Effect was one of my favorite games ever and Exodus seem to be able to fill Shepard sized hole in my heart. Other than that two wait the most for are: Crimson Desert, if this games is as good in the trailers it will be amazing, but can go other way around, really hope it gonna have really fun Breath of the Wild style exploration. Hell is Us, as it kinda make me really love its setting, as it is both unsettling and familiar at the same time, and enemies design is pretty original. Overall it gives me Control vibes.
Extremely lookin forward for Exodus, insanely enough after latest dev updates i'm kinda starting to like Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 (yep, it is not Bloodlines but i'm starving for the new WoD rpg game) which is surprising even to me after all these years. Solasta 2 is also promising, first one wasn't perfect but devs definitely have potential so i'm hyped to see their second project. And Dawnwalker too looks interesting.
Oh man so many great games this year. And not enough time to play them all! Ff7 rebirth, Spiderman 2 and the one I'll spend all my time on, monster hunter wilds!😅

My dark horse is Gothic 1. I don't expect it to be a great game (I never expect that anymore) but, for me, it has the most potential to exceed expectations.
I will be purchasing 14 of the games from this video, plus Beyond Good & Evil 2, if it's ever released, Ninja Gaidden 4, and maybe Pirate Simulator, only because I love pirate games, but unfortunately, not that many being made ATM and a supreme quality Pirate game, I have yet to have played in my lifetime. No official word yet but Wyrdsong might be dead. Something Wicked laid off the vast majority of their staff including Will Shen from Bethesda because of a lack of funding

And if we get to hear something from TES6 that would be great. KCD2 naturally. Skyblivion must be honored. Then I was curious about The Blood of Dawnwalker. I want to experience Elden Ring DLC too, but... will do so by watching someone else play. Still too much of a coward to tackle the games myself.

Here's hoping immersion isn't completely broken by modern dayisms in some of these. Avowed for sure will have modern dayisms as the developer has explicity and publicly stated how much they hate white people so that's an automatic no for me. KCD I'll play but I worry Embracer Group has affected development in a negative way since acquiring Warhorse. They have already killed other studios by injecting their ideology into games against developer will. Indy title Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon is promising and plays like Skyrim with decent combat improvements. Thank you Poland. Kocham Polsko.

Here's hoping immersion isn't completely broken by modern dayisms in some of these. Avowed for sure will have modern dayisms as the developer has explicity and publicly stated how much they hate white people so that's an automatic no for me.
KCD I'll play but I worry Embracer Group has affected development in a negative way since acquiring Warhorse. They have already killed other studios by injecting their ideology into games against developer will.

I'm looking fwd to Exodus and Solasta. Might try Path of Exile II, too. Liked the first one but never completed it coz I kept dying too often. 🥲
