I think you could have delved even deeper in the lore: Jason is basically a zombie and a ghost at the same time (with the various movies, comics, and games taking his background in different directions) and yes his sudden appearing somewhere else has been explained as teleportation in some sources (such as the Friday the 13th game and his MKX appearance). It feels weird but again, it's not a superpower it is just that he sometimes follows ghost logic rather than zombie logic if the scene requires it.
About weapons it must also be said that according to interviews Jason never uses guns mainly because of the writers deliberately putting him in situations where he doesn't have any, since those kills would be too simple and off for his style... but IF he got access to firearms he most likely would know how to use them. In Part 3 he kills somebody by shooting a harpoon through their eye, so he definitely understands how a gun works and he has excellent aim.
About the final verdict, as much as Jason is an unkillable killer... yeah I agree that Lara would win. I mean whether you imagine him being a boss in a TR game or you imagine a Friday the 13th movie where Lara is the protagonist, he'd be dead by the end.

He's technically a zombie, but he's like an advanced zombie or something, so I really like your point about his ghost-like abilities. Also a great point about firearms. It would be so strange to watch a Jason movie where he uses firearms 😂 but I agree, the harpoon gun definitely shows that he knows how they work.
So Jason is basically a ghost possessing his own corpse? Like Danny Phantom?
@@jarlairess In a way, maybe. But the body and spirit can also be separate, at least sometimes.
In part 1 Jason appears as a sort of ghost child, and he may even be haunting his mom, but in part 2 he's apparently an adult who has been living in the woods for a long time. So did he die as a child or did he survive? And if he did survive how could his mother not know that and how come they never met again? It makes no sense.
Then in later movies he dies, becomes a zombie, and then in Part 8 you can see that WHILE zombie Jason is going around killing people, child Jason makes mystic apparitions.
Trying to wrap your head around the lore is almost impossible because each movie does a thing on its own. (And that's without even talking about Part 9's craziness) The only way I found to reconcile everything is accepting that he's both a zombie and a ghost, in one way or another.

As a big Lara and a not so big Jason fan I was hoping for Lara to win of course. And well, Lara would certainly find a way to trap him for eternity or something. She just outsmarts him in every way, even if he's stronger and tougher. She's definitely the winner.

Jason is basically a supernatural, invulnerable, immortal, unstopable being that can't be bribed, negotiate or denied. He will not rest, stop, eat, sleep or even blink to end his enemy's existance. So for Lara Croft that's basically what she calls "a tuesday".

You really gave a pretty objective opinion. In my personal opinion, if Lara is allowed to fight with her full arsenal, Jason is screwed, why? Very easy, Lara not only has heavy military weapons but also legendary weapons such as the Excaliburt sword or Thor's hammer. Jason has no chance against such an arsenal.
That's a great point, but I don't really think Lara carries those weapons around with her. They are exclusive to one game, and not part of her "regular arsenal", if that makes sense? You are right though.

Great, fun video. So nostalgic as I played Tomb Raider and watched the Jason movies as a kid. Did you get the idea from Zero Punctuation? He jokes in the video for TR: Underworld that Jason and Lara would make a great couple.

This is the most random lara croft themed video i've ever seen but was 100% fun and cool. The only thing i would say is that yeah, lara has an health bar but she also has basically infinite stamina and she'll never lose health if she's able to keep jumping around away from jason's swings + jason's weapons, while def more effective on lara than her bullets would be on him, could break or get stuck while her pistols hold infinte ammo and not even recharge time, so i think they could be more effective on the long run

I admittedly felt a little like Jason when playing through one of the later sections of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Emerging from a hedge and stabbing a guy in the dark didn't exactly make me feel heroic, but it did make me feel like the world's most British slasher villain.
You mentioned that Lara could stand a chance with her grenade launcher, but she might also be able to do some damage if she's carrying around Excalibur or Mjölnir that day.

Honestly, I've never seen a Friday the 13th movie, and I have basically no desire to dip into that lore (even though I watched your video) - I think Laura deserves to to prove her metal against a Predator/Yautja though. Or Dracula.

In regards to Strategy, Jason's only Strategy is to get close and kill. Not much of a strategy. Lara can come up with better strategies such as shooting the hockey mask to pieces in order to temporarily disable Jason until he gets a new face covering.

So Jason gets the point for weapons because he's super tough and can withstand bullets, and then the very next category is toughness which he wins because he's tough and can withstand bullets?
The weapons point totally should go to Lara. Even if she can't kill Jason, she can at least totally fuck him up with her M4 or Grenade Launcher, buying her time to escape while he regenerates.
The categories are more meant to be viewed as:
... if it came down to strength, who would win!?
... if it came down to agility, who would win!?
And so on. So whoever had the most points from each individual category at the end, is the one I deemed most likely to win overall.
So in a sheer weapons duel, for example, I argued that Jason would win, because his weapons are more effective against Lara, than her weapons are against him. In a sheer toughness competition, I also argued Jason would win, because he is much more resilient than Lara, not just against gunfire, but any type of damage.

Lara has brains and is resourceful, not just killer insticts. Brain is the most powerful tool. And i doubt she'd ever let herself be caught by him. She is atheltic and carries guns. Jason uses primal weapons.
Exactly! I do think Jason's primal weapons are more effective against Lara, than her firearms are against him though. But of course, she's too fast and smart to ever give the opportunity to use them on her.
