Brilliant! Well done for mentioning the tailgate opening, haven't seen other reviews pay this any mind. Just goes to show how detailed your reviews are! Good work!
The deactivation of ISA chime in Model 3 is one of the simplest and best solutions in the industry. Like you said, it's just one touch of the speed limit icon. Unlike other approaches, it does not require diving into the menu every time you start a drive to turn it off. Thank you for a great review!

In recent years they got MUCH better but still they have much to improve. My 2023 unit had small points on the rear doors without the color paint (but with the primary) and the paint is very sensible to scratches, I never had so bad. Other than that it’s ok.
I test drove the highland today. Made my MY seem noisy and much less refined. Very impressed. I’d happily have a new one! Cooled seats are a nice feature. Button indicators took 15 mins to get used to.
Test drove a Y recently, lovely to drive but I'm reluctant to say it's a pity it's not quieter & the suspension is too hard also, some car to handle when fully loaded tho..
@@Joe-ud2hbwhen driving with good pavement I love the hard suspension, when I go back to my Audi (much softer) it looks like I’m driving a boat. But on streets with lousy pavement it’s too much. They should’ve thought of a better alternative, eventually an adaptative approach even if we had to pay a little extra. Note that in some countries some car shops are investigating the new suspension and it seems to be EXACTLY the same as current MYs but with different springs and rubber connections to the body. It seems that people can retrofit the new changes on older models.

Loved this. Thanks for pointing out Tesla quality. I see many people saying "Oh Tesla's are bad quality" when in actual fact, they're nowhere near and can sometimes even be better than the mainstream brands, such as BMW and Mercedes.
Was able to get one for an overnight test drive recently and took it on a 200 mile trip. My only gripes which I think can be solved with future software are the following: - Ambient lighting needs to be brighter or have a separate brightness adjust for it in controls - There needs to be a way to match the new speed limit when in autopilot. On gen 1/gen 2 model 3 you can pull down the right stalk and the autopilot speed will match the new speed or whatever offset one has set Overall a really enjoyed it and recommend everyone test drive it because I heard way too much noise about removal of stalks being an issue but didn’t suffer once when driving.
Agree, I have had my highland for some days. My first Tesla. I want the car to match the speed of the road. Id3 and cupra born does that. Isn’t that a function!?
@@jockajocka it’s weird in Tesla I notice sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn’t whether speeding up or slowing down. I think maybe when in autopilot a long press on the right scroll wheel should change the speed to match the new limit. Hopefully it comes in a future update
Thank you for your review. I went on a test drive last week and this car is gorgeous!! Quieter and more comfortable than previous model. When performance variant becomes available to order in United States I'm buying it!! Stealth Grey black interior. First EV, super stoked 🎉🎉
If it's your first EV do you really need performance? The lowest spec accelerates faster than a 911. At which traffic lights do you need that? I'd suggest that's tooo fast for normal roads. I'd save the cash and spend it on FSD or acceleration boost on a standard range. Your choice, though. Whichever you go with, enjoy it!
@@garyrooksby So after long consideration I placed my order for the M3 LR I went for a test drive today and the car was quiet, comfortable. It is very fast. I don't need a performance, I never go to the track, l don't drive more than 75 on Freeway, 50 on city streets and I don't want to worry about driving over potholes and ruining my rims and LR has better range. Glad I'm officially part of Tesla family.
I drove the new Model 3 on Saturday. The single motor version. I own an ICE BMW, and am testing EVs as I prepare to get my first electric car. I’ve tested lots of EVs including BMWs, Audi, Nissan, Smart, Toyota, Polestar and Volvo. I liked some, and really disliked others. But, the new Model 3? To be honest, it was ridiculous just how much better the Tesla was compared to all those other EVs. I mean, the gap is huge. The only reason to consider one of the other brands would be if they were hugely cheaper to lease, which most are not. Some are even more expensive to lease. It took me maybe two minutes to get used to the steering wheel button indicators. And the single motor had all the performance I need. Anyway, I won’t waste any more time with further test drives.
@@RSEVI’ve had my M3RWD for exactly one month now. Absolutely loving it. First road trip from Cheshire to Exeter for our son’s graduation this weekend. Superchargers at Gloucester were perfect, and I’ve also used the ones at Moto Exeter today, which is a mile from the Hilton where we are staying. Best part is the 15k of free supercharging miles I got for taking delivery in June 😂
@@arcachuchoI tested the i4 40. Beautifully made, being a BMW. I have just changed from a BMW 128ti to a Model 3 RWD, and we have an X3 as well. So, I am a BMW fan. But, I went with the Tesla over the BMW for a few reasons: Far cheaper on my company scheme than the i4, especially as the BMW misses so much that the Tesla has as standard. The BMW is cramped inside compared to the Tesla, especially in the rear as it’s on an ICE platform. The boot is much smaller than the Tesla’s, and it has no front boot. The base model is slower and has less range than the Model 3 RWD. The 40 has more range and is really fast, but is not AWD like the Model 3 LR. The i4 is a great EV. But, for my needs and budget, the Model 3 RWD was the better EV.
2:10 It is a new regulation, and part of it is that you shouldn’t be able to turn it off permanently. It must turn on again every time you start a new trip.
@@derjansan9564why they struggle to sell is because they don’t drop there prices like Tesla and fuck there customers in the back. That’s why the second hand value of polestars are way better. Richard is one of the best EV reviewers, doing real life test, similar to Bjorn, not hunting for views and trying to be too funny, but down to the point, great job. I would buy my next car at RSEV but no company like this in my country
I'll probably end up buying a used model Y and I'll probably drive 200+ miles down to see Richard to do that. He has my trust. I met him last year at a Tesla event and he's a lovely chap.
Got my updated RWD M3 4 days ago. 1st tesla, what a drive!! Can't compare with earlier models but this is a very well put together car. Fit and finish is superb, UI is very intuitive and ride and comfort is excellent. Your review is very fair, considered and balanced, well done. No stalks = no issues. I don't have that change in speed limit chime here in Australia so maybe it is a UK requirement for new vehicles?
I have over 6000 km with my Highland LR now and it’s almost like you reviewed the car out of my brain - agree with simply everything - from the stalks to the ride, positives and negatives. And hey, the cameraman is absolutely correct: the sides get more dirty than other cars. Here in Sweden, when the weather has been terrible with melting snow and salt, these sides has been dirty like hell. However, not even my small children manage to get dirty from it, because they simply step over it. An adult man should be able to manage this as well 🤣
@@RSEV Sounds like your "first thoughts" review comment that front mudflaps are pretty much mandatory are validated. Again, your experience shines through. It made me really chuckle that Gints was being repremanded by some kids to "pick his feet up" !
@@garyrooksby Fun fact: when I picked up the car in early october (first batch of cars in europe I believe) the Tesla employes installed (for free) mud flaps on all Tesla Model 3's! Other fun fact: it still gets super dirty along the side 😂
@@p3tT4n1I used to live in Germany that also has a lot of snow and people usually buy no mud flaps: dirt and snow accumulate there and can rub on the tires; even with mud flaps the sides get dirty and there is no real advantage on cars, just very important on trucks. The sides are also - on German cars - steering enough to have no issues. My German cars were perfect after many years with dirt/snow. Tesla cars though, have a lousy paint job and I would reinforce the car with PPF on heavier situations (countryside or regions with a lot of snow)
Totally agree with your comment on the door handles needing illumination. I can't believe that they missed that in the refresh to-do list. It won't stop me upgrading my m3LR when the time comes though.
I was thinking one thing they can also use the rear screen for, to make it more useful, is if you're driving with friends/family and you're going somewhere, but they suggest somewhere else to go and you can't re-route whilst driving, they can search the route on the back screen, send it to the main and the driver can either accept or reject the route (just to prevent kiddies from messing with the routing) Plus, I know from experience that parents like to know where they are 😅 having a map feature on the rear screen would be nice And even more, if Tesla are going to the route of having them as taxis, can be useful for passengers as well so they can track the route.
@ymcpa73 this is very true. Additional scenario would then Ben if the person suggesting the new route from the back, would have to check that the correct location etc. It would be just as an additional input option 😊
Great balanced review as usual which is so appreciated after all the influencers on RUclips. As you know I got my Ultra Red long range like you on the launch day and build quality far surpasses my C Class and overall it puts Mercedes to shame. Keep up your excellent reviews.
Such a valuable review only yours are true real world. I’m a few days and many miles behind you but finding the same with the rwd - brilliant overall package. For those pondering highland the stalks, shifter and vision are non issues. Panel fit, gaps and paint are up with the best but s/w trumps all especially voice commands that really work
Kudos to RSEV, some car dealers selling used Teslas could have been more negative in an effort to boost sales. But you have integrity and tell it as it is.
I am averaging 220 wh/mi in a 2022 Model 3 Performance over the last 3-4 months. I swapped the 20” stock wheels for aftermarket 18s with the 235/45/18 Hankook iON EVO AS tires and that improved my efficiency dramatically.
Same here. Model 3 Performance, got 18 inch Martian Wheels, and Pirelli P-Zero All Season Electric tires that are 235/45/18 and my efficiency is usually around 281.
traded my M3 2023 rwd for the new 2024 M3 long range awd and wow the suspension is so much better, the seats more confie, ventilated front seats is cool to have, no more wood and i love the new desing and what about the sound system, incredible, i love it. Great review
I went to flash someone across my path yesterday and managed to indicate AND mute my telephone call at the same time instead 😂😂😂. But still LOVE my highland.
I love it. Your point Richard about a mini LED in the door handles is bang on. I have the exact same car as you and I flap around in the dark for the doors! I also really like the quieter boot close sound. Hated the old beep. So many folk throwing toys from their pram about the lack of stalks. It is not a problem. My first car was a Citroen Dyane. This (in all likelihood) is going to be my last car. What a difference!!
I'm a delivery driver and got myself a tesla again in december, and yeah electric is just so much cheaper if you do the miles. When work pics up again I'll easily be making back half my monthly payment if not more just from recouped fuel pay where was in the ice car I used to drive I'd always be losing money
Ive got a 2021 model 3, love it as its an excellent family car. The only thing i really wanted to see on mine was some mood lighting inside, as its super dark inside at nice. The screen in the rear is super cool, but wouldn’t have specced that if it were an option, as i don’t want my boys with their head in screens, but a wonderful extra somewhat for free! All those other bits are just tiny improvements in some way, but not game changing. Love Tesla and would buy another in a heartbeat
Actually the only negative i have, is the lack of under thigh support. I had a Lexus ES300 as a rental the other day, which was super comfortable. Shame the tesla seat lacks a little
I have a the EXACT same car and I love it. BUT i think you (Simon) are a bit too biased, I think we all can hear it😄 I think it’s normal, but for the sake of reviews, I just wanted to call it out. Otherwise great video💪
Test drove a RWD Highland yesterday. Much improved over my 21 M3 - ride comfort, sound insulation and the improved cameras. Tesla Vision seemed to work well. Gear shift on screen was not an issue and even got used to indicators. Kept my left thumb on left turn indicator when turning 270 degrees on roundabouts so not as much of a dealbreaker as I thought it would be. Overall a great car. Was wondering if the new 5 star Euro NCAP regulations due in 2025 might force Tesla to re-install stalks.
Great review Richard. You content never gets old. Maybe this has been mentioned before but it would be interesting to do a tyre swap to see how much of the noise reduction is the new tyres. Obviously the increased amount of double glazing and other changes all contribute but I have heard they may be one of the major contributors to the reduced noise. I added some sound insulation to my 22 M3LR and interestingly upgraded underside protection plates (aluminium with a rubbery layer) made the most difference. Still waiting on that Aussie RSEV branch. I can see you in an Akubra hat doing your videos. Like me, your head would need it on our sun 😅
That speed limit chime (Intelligent speed assistance) will be mandated on all new cars, currently you can disable it (every time you start the car). This year, the new rule is that you cannot disable it!
That isn’t correct. The new rule is that they have to be activated by default, but you are still allowed to disable them at the start of every journey.
I already told a Tesla technician about the door sill getting my trousers mucky. I agree with your pal that Tesla should put a rubber seal to prevent dirt from coming in and settling at all four doors.
One "feature" of any Tesla with sentry mode is that you're getting constant 12v power even when parked. What that means is that you can now add a freezer to the trunk and you can do your grocery shopping and not have to hurry home. Buy a tub of ice cream from your favorite creamery and continue on your day. It sounds silly but not having to make dedicated trips for groceries is a big quality of life improvement.
15:30 RE the doors covering that area - I have a LR Freelander 2, the rear doors do cover this area. The water and muck gets trapped anytime it rains, and despite cleaning, paint bubbles have formed, weeping rusty water. I notice on the M3 the actual door sealing area looks very clean, so from what I can see, Tesla and others have the right idea with that particular spot.
Great review Richard. You’re just giving your views and impressions which is exactly what I came here for. Love my 23 MY inc the parking assist and look forward to the upgrade next year.
You can turn off the speed chime in the apps on the main screen. So that the speed limit sign just gets larger instead of the chime. learn your car. and this sets it for every drive.
Great review. As a driver trainer I was interested in the implications of replacing the stalks with buttons. If Tesla do it, like large screens, other manufacturers will follow to save money. So, I started to watch trainees in my own Model 3. I noticed that most times they had to move their left hand to turn on the signal My conclusion was that people will learn the new skills to use the buttons. Then…. I noticed that every time I dropped off a trainee at the end of a lesson I’d move off from the kerb and turn the radio volume up using the steering wheel control. It doesn’t matter where the steering wheel is I turned the volume up with whichever hand was near the control without a thought. My final conclusion - lack of stalks not a problem.
I have a 2022 RWD and love it, over 21000 miles I've averaged 232 wh got another couple of years on my lease. Wish I had adaptive matrix as my previous Merc had but other than that :-)
Mine was delivered last week and agree with what you say, especially about the annoying speed limit alerts and the slight distraction selecting the indicators on roundabouts. However: - I don’t find the cameras accurate for parking. I ended up about an inch away from a bollard the other day that the car thought was 11 inches away, - if you swipe up and down quickly for forward/reverse it doesn’t always register it. So a couple of times I’ve swiped, assumed it’s gone into reverse as commanded and I’ve ended up accidentally moving forwards - my BIGGEST issue, which I think is a Tesla-wide thing, is that on my first long 200mile motorway journey the car slammed on the brakes three times having reduced my cruise control target speed randomly to 40mph with nothing around me whatsoever. Pretty dangerous…. Despite holding the steering wheel more firmly than I would driving my previous car, it eventually locked me out of the lane assist after a couple of warnings. - having come from a car with a heads up display I miss it! - I was told 421miles on the dual motor but it never estimates much more than 370 on a full charge. - Tesla are making a lot of deliveries and as a result the customer service was a shambles and led to a stressful, disappointing experience. Overall I still like it but as my first Tesla I’m definitely surprised and disappointed with some features.
Thanks for sharing. The mileage is based on combined motorway and city driving, even though still too optimistic. Firmly holding the steering wheel is not registered. You have to give it a nudge.
I test drove one last week when I took my RS EV supplied Model X 100D (Swansea) to get the suspension squeak fixed after a huge pot hole and the New Model 3 is really nice.. the suspension is super smooth compared to the older model and the Y. Getting used to the "no stalks" took about 5 minutes!
from the video I could see you had to still look down at the steering wheel to select your indicator and I just don't see how this won't be an issue for a large number of potential buyers. If the indicator was not removed, I would've bought this car immediately. Everything else is perfect. Real shame about the indicator placement.
You do that for the first couple of weeks. After a few weeks you have reprogrammed you cognitive memory and you stop looking down. I’ve driven my model s for over a year and I never look down anymore. I look down more in my BMW, that has so many buttons on the steering wheel.
@@gustavgyll3291 That's the point nobody gets. They all think they DON'T glance at "conventional" buttons. I'd love to see an eye tracker installed on some non Tesla vehicles to dispel the myth.
Thanks Richard. That 4.5 miles per kWh figure isn't bad. It compares well with the 6.0 I managed on this cool February day in a ZE50, bearing in mind the facts that the Zoe is a smaller car and that I was urban driving.
The refresh model addressed all my complaints about the Model 3. I'm jealous, as my complaints are no where bad enough to justify for letting go of a perfectly fine EV for a quieter cabin, so we're not putting down an order. :)
now the Model S needs a small Facelift. This has faster steering, real indicator buttons and ambient lighting, which eliminates many problems from the Model S
I had the pleasure of test driving the Highland last week. I love it. Even the button indicators work well although I admit I stroke the missing stalk as I pulled out of the Tesla car park. One point I could not get my head around were the 2 icons on the speed limit sign. One was the beep but I couldn’t figure out the triangle. The other control I had to stop several times and eventually used RUclips was the autopilot selector now being the right scroll wheel. I’m afraid it will be a year or 2 before I can give up my one year old M3LR to move to a Highland.
I really appreciate your honest, no nonsense review. I’d love to update from 2020 3LR but I have FSD so will have to wait for a ‘transfer window’. The one feature I, and many others miss, is a speed limiter for round town driving. Sadly lacking.
Test drove the refreshed RWD Model 3 over the weekend. The new soundproofing tricks and refined suspension are game changers. It felt like we were driving another brands luxury car. The turn signals are the only thing that might take a few hours to adjust to.
Great, honest review. I quite like the Model 3 and would love that efficiency and full use of the supercharger network, don't even mind the stalks but why won't Tesla make the model 3 in a hatchback or estate? I know there is the model Y but that's too big, too expensive and less efficient. The other thing is why haven't Tesla introduced V2L or V2G in this latest version. Seems a missed opportunity or is it because they think using the car as a big battery will impact Tesla powerwall sales.
would love an estate. As for V2L, well I've owned cars with that, never used it. I guess it would be good to know it's there, for something one day. Perhaps it's capable just not software enabled and they'll release an adapter in the Tesla store one day?
Looks great, or you could just buy yourself a used 2020 one for £20k and save a fortune! Then upgrade too this in 3 years time! Then your not loosing thousands in depreciation! 🙌
There are actual push button P R N D next to the rear view mirror. Tesla will tell you they are intended for emergency use but they can completely functional for people that don’t want to use the touch screen and other cars have had the PRND in similar location before.
Coming from a Model Y with sensors I’ve still got reservations about the camera only system - the amount of times we are getting “X camera is blocked or blinded” at the moment (Winter, UK)…
Thanks for your review of the car. It was my first time trying a Tesla when I test drove a Highland Model 3. The test drive was only for 30 minutes, but after about 15 minutes I wanted to return the car. There were many problems that are just worse than in many cars, here's a list of just a few things: - indicator buttons and gear selector in screen are simply not as good, reliable and safe as proper stalks especially in situations where you need to use them quickly - Seat base was one of the shortest and and most uncomfortable that I've ever tried and this alone was a deal breaker - No V2L - Even though the Infotainment is one of the most responsive on the market, the lack of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto means that I can't dictate WhatsApp messages which I do use a lot with my current EV - The door handles and frameless windows don't work very well here in Finland during winter time - I'm not a fan of the Model 3's looks, the front of it is too long and low, especially for an ev it's weird why the bonnet has to be so unnecessarily long - The lack of parking sensors is simply idiotic, I test drove the car and when driving slowly it many times thought I was going to drive in to a wall even though there was nothing in front of me - Also the rear seats don't have good leg support - Steering feel was pretty numb when compared to for example Polestar 2 - The NVH was nothing special also even though Tesla likes to tell all the time about how quiet and refined the new model 3 is, the old one must have been pretty bad if this one is just ok It's not a terrible car, but I personally just don't understand why so many people praise the Model 3 so much
Looks sleeker now. More modern. However tis shame the sills are not covered. If Citroen can do it on the E C4 you’d of thought Tesla could. Good review. Looking forward to the next. Best wishes
The chime of speed limit is a EU directive, that says when you start you car the chime must be set ON, and the user have to manually turn it OFF each time..

I saw a "Mercedes misalignment" short the other day (can't remember the channel)

Tesla is as good if not better build quality than Mercedes
@@Little_Britain74 100% agree with you here!
Don’t compare German premium cars to a downmarket brand like Kia, sorry MAGA Musk cars,
Was able to get one for an overnight test drive recently and took it on a 200 mile trip. My only gripes which I think can be solved with future software are the following:
- Ambient lighting needs to be brighter or have a separate brightness adjust for it in controls
- There needs to be a way to match the new speed limit when in autopilot. On gen 1/gen 2 model 3 you can pull down the right stalk and the autopilot speed will match the new speed or whatever offset one has set
Overall a really enjoyed it and recommend everyone test drive it because I heard way too much noise about removal of stalks being an issue but didn’t suffer once when driving.

@@garyrooksby
So after long consideration I placed my order for the M3 LR I went for a test drive today and the car was quiet, comfortable. It is very fast. I don't need a performance, I never go to the track, l don't drive more than 75 on Freeway, 50 on city streets and I don't want to worry about driving over potholes and ruining my rims and LR has better range. Glad I'm officially part of Tesla family.
Kinda trash they haven’t done the earlier models silencer. Sheep losers. Toke 107 years to make a difference.
I think the speed limit chime is EU/UK law on all 2024 model cars.
Argh, not fair you are so positive... I need reasons not to buy this amazing vehicle!
Ye it’s as boring as other cars on the road. Everyone drives the same car 😂 sheeps. Get something more special to stand out from all the sheeps.
I drove the new Model
3 on Saturday.
Glad you liked and sounds like switching from ICE 👏
I am currently on the fence between the BMW I4 E40 and the Tesla 3 (long range). Any advice?
But, I went with the Tesla over the BMW for a few reasons:
Far cheaper on my company scheme than the i4, especially as the BMW misses so much that the Tesla has as standard.
Thanks for the videos Richard, they kept me going til today when my standard range highland in ultra red arrived! My first Tesla so far so good.

Have fun!
2:10 It is a new regulation, and part of it is that you shouldn’t be able to turn it off permanently. It must turn on again every time you start a new trip.
this guys right. all new cars have it now
How annoying.
I've switched mine off, it stays off.
(Not in UK)
I went to a tesla showroom and polestar showroom on the same day - tesla fit and finish and panel gaps are a whole class above the polestar cars!
Those Polestar cars look really nice, but there must be a reason why they have difficulties selling them.
Polestars are way better panel gap. Better build and something more special. A real car. For the real class people.
@@derjansan9564why they struggle to sell is because they don’t drop there prices like Tesla and fuck there customers in the back. That’s why the second hand value of polestars are way better. Polestars is a way better brand and keep there prices higher to make sure only the special class people. It’s not a mass production car company that want to sell 837262 million cars like Tesla. Polestar is focused on design luxury’s comfort and build and it’s a great build but they ain’t about dropping prices so everyone can have the car. They can’t drop the prices but they wont becouse then they fuck there loyal buyers becouse it means they will destroy the second owner value of the car and this is a part Tesla never think about. They dropped prices to almost 20,000£ over night in Sweden on the Tesla y and many of there other models also got dropped many times over 10,000£ and around that price. Polestar have never done that. They keep the same and go down in price about the years go on. Polestar isn’t for regular people. Polestar is like a Porsche but a EV Car Brand. And as the same as porch they ain’t focused on cheap cars for regular people. Same with Porsche, a lot of cheaper cars are better than a porch or close to it and it’s the same with Tesla and polestar. Tesla might be better in many ways than a polestar. But polestar ain’t focused on that part so no reason to go on about it.
I’m a Volvo owner (S90) considering a change for an EV. I already have experience with Tesla (although I didn’t see personally the newest Model 3) and I will test drive both Model 3 and Polestar 2. Let’s see which one am I get

Thank you for such kind words. It has to be kept real and I decline many offers to advertise as that's not what it's about.
I'll probably end up buying a used model Y and I'll probably drive 200+ miles down to see Richard to do that. He has my trust. I met him last year at a Tesla event and he's a lovely chap.
Richard you can’t turn off the speeding warning because it is a new regulation in Europe it is mandatory on all new cars. 😅
But it's isn't a new car. It applies to new models not existing models that have had a facelift
@@danuk2005 it applies to all new cars (2024 model year). In Tesla specifically from new Highland.

Looks a nice upgrade. Thank you Richard for the videos. Best regards Martin
Well done and congratulations, and yes that chime is a European regulation thing apparently 🤦♂️
An adult man should be able to manage this as well 🤣
glad to hear my thoughts after only 1 week are validated! And yes I'll tell gints to just get in and out properly! ha ha
1:21 a good fight with the boot is a really important part to any car review, great work mate.
Totally agree with your comment on the door handles needing illumination. I can't believe that they missed that in the refresh to-do list. It won't stop me upgrading my m3LR when the time comes though.
I was thinking one thing they can also use the rear screen for, to make it more useful, is if you're driving with friends/family and you're going somewhere, but they suggest somewhere else to go and you can't re-route whilst driving, they can search the route on the back screen, send it to the main and the driver can either accept or reject the route (just to prevent kiddies from messing with the routing)
Plus, I know from experience that parents like to know where they are 😅 having a map feature on the rear screen would be nice
And even more, if Tesla are going to the route of having them as taxis, can be useful for passengers as well so they can track the route.
I would think if you have passengers in the back, you have a passenger in the front. The front passenger can search things up and re-route.

Panel fit, gaps and paint are up with the best but s/w trumps all especially voice commands that really work
always good to hear other owners agree with my own opinions and validate it as a balanced review
I’ve been watching this Channel for a couple weeks. Great content. Subscribed !!

Shame the tesla seat lacks a little
Lots of aftermarket mood lighting you can add
Tesla really have matured into great auto maker.
The features are awsome, and the acceleration never gets old.
Thanks for the videos! I have my new model 3 coming this week here in Canada.
The Dog mode is actually absolutely brilliant! It really makes a difference if you are a pet owner. Deserves some praise and attention!
Lack of stalks is a deal breaker for me at least. No reason for it and it degrades safety rather than making a change to improve it.
Nice update, and intro for folks unfamiliar with Tesla
I have a the EXACT same car and I love it. BUT i think you (Simon) are a bit too biased, I think we all can hear it😄 I think it’s normal, but for the sake of reviews, I just wanted to call it out. Otherwise great video💪
Apparently I ”think” alot😄 Sorry, not my first language.
With all the chassis improvements alone I'd be ditching my old M3 asap for this. Cheers
Correct, EU ruling apparently.
That isn’t correct. The new rule is that they have to be activated by default, but you are still allowed to disable them at the start of every journey.
Maybe, we just need to do the speed limits 😅
@@simonyapp except the technology is often incorrect, and it misreads a sign for example.
Correct, this is a mandatory EU regulation, nothing to do with Tesla, I have a LR Highland in Australia and can permanently disable this warning 😀
Great information and thanks for the review. Loking forward to more and also the RWD review.
However:
- I don’t find the cameras accurate for parking. I ended up about an inch away from a bollard the other day that the car thought was 11 inches away,
- if you swipe up and down quickly for forward/reverse it doesn’t always register it. So a couple of times I’ve swiped, assumed it’s gone into reverse as commanded and I’ve ended up accidentally moving forwards
- my BIGGEST issue, which I think is a Tesla-wide thing, is that on my first long 200mile motorway journey the car slammed on the brakes three times having reduced my cruise control target speed randomly to 40mph with nothing around me whatsoever.
Thanks for sharing what you’ve learned.
@@David_Polak thanks, I’ll give it a go!
Teslas really have awful quality and buggy sensors
Richard Bingo - was counting down to ‘no illlumination in door handles’. 😂
It continues to be a disappointing oversight especially now that there is ambient lighting wired into the door cards. Just extend it to the handles!
Never even thought about that. Its a good point but somehow I never had an issue finding the doorhandle yet... never!
02:25 no the speed warning isn't going to change. It's called ISA. Intelligent speed assist. UN/ECE is to blame..😢
Speed limit chime I believe is a EU regulation. In the US it defaults off and you can set it if you want.
it is, unfortunately :/
*People don’t give Tesla enough credit for the phone key operation*
It makes life so much easier
How many people are going to have to tell you that they’ve not found it an issue before you’ll believe them? 😂

That's the point nobody gets.
They all think they DON'T glance at "conventional" buttons.
I'd love to see an eye tracker installed on some non Tesla vehicles to dispel the myth.
At least it has indicators, unlike Audi’s and BMW’s.
Enhauto (the guys with the sexy buttons) are just about to release a stalk for model s, x and highland.
Speeding notification is excellent, all cars should have it.
I may be wrong but I think you like it. Thanks for posting from the real world.

We use dog mode all the time, preheat is also brilliant especially on these cold mornings
I think new model S will have 48V architecture and steer by wire like the CT, ambient light and massage chair. then it would be superb.
Yes, another episode!!
I’ve had Mine for two years and i really love it! My next night be a Tesla S- because that’s even more atractive!❤
Love your videos, brilliant car.😂❤
The BYD Seal may take some sales away from Tesla, it all depends on the pricing. At least the BYD has indicator stalks.
Not read all the comments but not heard any reviews about how you can flash another driver at night without a stalk…!
We need a tesla estate. With stalks. That would be all the car I’d ever need
There are actual push button P R N D next to the rear view mirror. Tesla will tell you they are intended for emergency use but they can completely functional for people that don’t want to use the touch screen and other cars have had the PRND in similar location before.
Coming from a Model Y with sensors I’ve still got reservations about the camera only system - the amount of times we are getting “X camera is blocked or blinded” at the moment (Winter, UK)…
filmed parking vision assist today. I actually think it works just fine now...
The turn signal buttons are definitely easy to get used to. I have a Model S and I prefer the buttons instead of a stalk
Thanks for your review of the car.
It was my first time trying a Tesla when I test drove a Highland Model 3. The test drive was only for 30 minutes, but after about 15 minutes I wanted to return the car. There were many problems that are just worse than in many cars, here's a list of just a few things:
- indicator buttons and gear selector in screen are simply not as good, reliable and safe as proper stalks especially in situations where you need to use them quickly
- Seat base was one of the shortest and and most uncomfortable that I've ever tried and this alone was a deal breaker
- No V2L
- Even though the Infotainment is one of the most responsive on the market, the lack of Apple CarPlay/Android Auto means that I can't dictate WhatsApp messages which I do use a lot with my current EV
- The door handles and frameless windows don't work very well here in Finland during winter time
- I'm not a fan of the Model 3's looks, the front of it is too long and low, especially for an ev it's weird why the bonnet has to be so unnecessarily long
- The lack of parking sensors is simply idiotic, I test drove the car and when driving slowly it many times thought I was going to drive in to a wall even though there was nothing in front of me
- Also the rear seats don't have good leg support
- Steering feel was pretty numb when compared to for example Polestar 2
- The NVH was nothing special also even though Tesla likes to tell all the time about how quiet and refined the new model 3 is, the old one must have been pretty bad if this one is just ok
It's not a terrible car, but I personally just don't understand why so many people praise the Model 3 so much
Autowiper is shocking. The wipers activated whilst I was test driving on a sunny day.
Looks sleeker now. More modern. However tis shame the sills are not covered. If Citroen can do it on the E C4 you’d of thought Tesla could. Good review. Looking forward to the next. Best wishes
Best daily car ever 🎉
You forgot to mention the new tow hook location in the rear bumper.
I miss my 21 M3L the app as key was just the best thing.
Just ordered blue with white interior long range nova wheels. 😃 I’m so excited.
I agree. Hard to adapt to a different EV once a TESLA owner.
