ProLogik balance meter and tuning tool
www.prologik-astro.com/
The meter is of a high quality and works really well. Not only is it great for helping to find perfect balance in stiff mounts but it is a fantastic aid to fine tuning your mount for the best guiding. It will assist you in adjusting your worm drive/gear mesh to the optimum setting and giving you great smooth tracking and excellent guiding numbers. - Развлечения
That looks like a really good day out. Nice video
Thank you, it was a really good day
Looks like you and Simon had a great day out mate
Thank Tony, yes we had a really good day, great place to visit
Hi Glenn, Really enjoyed video trip to the observatory, makes you appreciate and realise how far things have moved on, There's a place in Devon called the Norman Lockyer, Observatory they have an Astro fair every summer with lectures, a planetarium, and old scopes in domes etc, it was often my escape for a day on our hols, secretly buying the odd bit of astro kit😅... Atb Tom.
Hi Tom, it was a really nice day and lots to see. You are right that it shows how far we have come but it amazes me what they achieved back then with what they had. That sounds like something I will definitely check out. Is it normally a set date or is it advertised? Glenn
Hi Glenn, looking into the Norman Lockyer Observatory at Sidmouth calander it would appear they no longer hold the astro day fest in the summer, but there are a lot of other talks and events on their site Callander, maybe its getting to expensive now, a number of events are under threat these days, ie like Dorset steam fair etc..but it is a good site, Sidmouth also have a nice park and river with great shops seaside etc.. Atb Tom.
Great video
Thank you
Great video Glenn, looked like fun
It was! Thank you for watching
A nice video and looks a very worthwhile day out. I will add it to my bucket list of places to visit next year.
Thank you. Can definitely recommend as there is lots to see and do. Thanks for watching.
Great video Glenn, really enjoyed it.
Thanks Woody. It was a nice day out with Simon.
Very cool trip
Thank you
The Royal Observatory is incredible! I've done a couple of courses there. A friend and I went to the Insight Astrophotography exhibition last week!
Its a great day out with lots to see. I am sure I will be back again.
Great video Glenn, nicely captured the days events mate! Thanks for the plug, much appreciated! Still not sure about the Hershel likeness though😀Clear skies!
Thanks Simon Herschel. Was a great day out mate, thanks again and hopefully next time we can go and see our names in the Gallery.
Hi Glenn. Nice video. Even though I live in the States, I’ve been there twice in the past year. The last time was just a few weeks ago. You went to a few places I missed so I’ll have to go again ;-) . I also noticed the feather touch focuser on the giant equatorial telescope. There was also a modern Orion finder scope attached too when I was there. My rough math calculated to be about an f/10 scope. The story of John Harrison and his 4 clocks is a real interesting one highlighted in a book called “Longitude” by Dava Sobel. There is also a 2000 movie by the same name. Maybe worth a look. Cheers Chris
Hi Chris, thank you for watching and commenting. Its a fascinating place with so much history, I really had a great day. I love seeing all the images in the gallery too, gives me inspiration. I did wonder how crude the original focuser would have been and its not surprising modern parts are added so it can still be used. How great would that be to be able to get a camera fitted and take an image from that amazing scope? I will check out the book and movie, thank you for that info. Take care and clear skies.
hey glen are you able to do a pempro video?
This was something I had planned. I had an issue with one bit but yes I will revisit it and sort one out
Looks like you had a great time mate dunno if i could do it me & cities don't mix!!
Clear skies!!
Its a great place to visit but can get busy
