Cynthia Erivo was just here in DC on Saturday for our 50th DC World Pride performing at our street festival in front of the US Capitol and she was INCREDIBLE. Her performance was riveting and when she finished celebrating with us, she went back to her hotel to pack and fly to NY to do this show at the Tony Awards. If you get the opportunity to see this lady perform, please do because she is phenomenal.
Her dress was indeed a nod to Annie. The musical composer, Charles Strouse, passed away in May & was the first one featured in the “In Memoriam” segment. Another Annie nod was Sara Bareilles & Cynthia Erivo singing “Tomorrow” in that segment.
Not her giving us the five star Michelin meal and devoured it down and literally left no crumbs until the dessert came and then ate that too oh my god her voice it so amazing I love it ❤
Cynthia absolutely slayed this opening number!!!! She and Adam Lambert need to head to the studio immediately to perform a duet. Been a fan since his American Idol days...he SANG from his seat!!!! Cynthia and her amazing voice are truly gifts to the world. Her "Tomorrow" with Sara Bareilles for the In Memorium segment was beautiful. I watched the Tonys mainly for Cynthia and the Hamilton performance, but the show was good. Cynthia was an exceptional host!!! And she served so many great looks!!👏🏽❤️👏🏽❤️👏🏽❤️👏🏽
