Vortex with HellHammer is always unbelievable. The best of all anywhere! This is an everyday favorite of so many good Vortex bands and albums and songs.

actually in original album version it's not a guitar solo, it's singing of a guest musician (some girl with beautiful voice), Moren just transcribed it for guitar
...Garm was in more than one album. Vortex didn't join the band until later but was still involved in the project because pretty much everyone in the BM scene know each other and or are friends. The band was formed by Knut. He writes pretty much all the music and so Arcturus COULD continue without any of the band members other than Knut if he really desired.
does anyone cream their pants as much as i do between 3:09 - 5:15? this is so unique to me, and sounds absolutely AMAZING. i absolutely melt every time i hear this
Great song in their best (to my opinion) album. Vortex has one of the best -if not the best- voices in the metal world. And of course excellent performance from Hellhammer...
Hellhammer is damn fast, but also very technical...now, you don't see this "technicality" very much on most of his bands, but you do see it (or heart it whatever) on his band "Winds"...and Neil Peart is awesome...
He is. And it just ads credence that it shows that he is actually having troule in keeping the pitch and keeps covering his ear in order to not lose the tone and hear himself better.
Hellhammer is on a different planet lol. Id say that only George Kollias and Thomas Haake are at his level of drumming. Thats it. Id also love to see another album but probably thats not happening. Nevertheless Arcturus are beyond anything and its pointless to make any other comments ;D :D

As long as I know, the band was formed by Sverd and Hellhammer in 1990, bearing Arcturus as their name. Knut didn't join the band 'till the end of the tour of Aspera Hiems Symfonia, in 1995 or 96 (till then, the guitarist was August Tidemann). And the main composer is also Sverd, so the last paragraph is correct, just changing Knut for Sverd xD
Incredible voice he has!!! I have listened this band from beginning!!! When they changed they style i didnt like it at all... But when you get older (and wiser) you get it!!! Finland hails!!!

Ok, I heard that part of the reason they split up was that sverd lost his inspiration and once he's ready they will get back together and maybe remake Sideshow Symphonies. hope they make somthing like radical cut again.

i was told to look them up and i cant say i like them. i will say that even though i cant get into the music ill say that they do seem to put their heart and soul into the music so ill leave this video respectfully
