Hi Claire! I watched this video shortly after you released it and it really helped. I'm looking to move into nursing from a long successful military engineering career. I followed a lot of your advice, absolutely loved your honesty and endless enthusiasm and... I start my new job as a Healthcare Support Worker in a month! I plan to do nursing via Open University whilst working there. Super early days, but I'm just going for it. Thank you so much for your inspirational videos, it really makes a massive difference. 👍😁
Thank you so much for this video, I'm currently working in financial services and want to move to a career in health care so this has really helped me look into my options
I just watched your video now,i really have passion for nursing or any health related, but i don't know how and where to begin,i"m currently in poland doing msc in Agronomy, and i want to switch to my dream, then hope age is not a barrier, please i need steps to begin, thank you for this insightful video.
Wow, this new hair is awesome! Really goes well with ur sunny personality haha. Also my local hospital are not accepting volunteers atm so I applied for Hca and at nursing homes, I was also thinking of volunteering at homeless shelters so that I can put stuff on my ps lol
Aw thank you!! 🧡🍂 I needed a change up haha. Aw that’s a shame but great about the HCA work and homeless shelters! That will be so lovely! 🥰 and great for the PS too! :) whoop! X
@@ClaireCarmichael yeah I got accepted at a nursing home the other day but I’m dreading to start because I’m not sure how I’ll react to all the bodily fluids hahaha, I gotta catch up on your nursing home vids! 🤣
Hi Claire, I just stumbled on your video. I've been trying to get into an apprenticeship in nursing. I have level 2 Health and Social Care. Please I need more understanding.
Hello Claire , Liked Your Video. My wife is planning for PRE REGISTRATION 2 year Msc Adult Nursing Course in UK. She has more than 1000 hrs of clinical nurse experience. The course has both theory and hospital Internship. So my question is after completing the course , can she apply for Registered Nurse after the course with NHS or she has to give OET, CBT and OSCE after passing the course to become RN and work for NHS Hospitals or she can become RN with NHS without these tests. Pls advice
Hey! Thank you for your question :) and lovely of your wife to study here. If she has completed her course here in the UK as a nurse - she can register with the NMC to get her PIN and register as a UK Nurse here :) I’m unsure if she will need to do anything else. But the NMC have some good information about this: www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/register-nurse-midwife/trained-outside-uk/ This link is for people who trained outside of UK though. But there may be some links for international people training in the uk :)
Hi Claire thanks so much for this video it’s been so informative to me, I just got a job as a healthcare assistant in a NHS hospital it’s been a week now and I’d like to further my career as a registered nurse. Do you think it’s advisable to start doing the access to higher education diploma course now while I’m gaining experience from work or do you suggest I gain more experience before I start? I’d like to further with a nursing apprenticeship after the diploma still with NHS. I’d love to hear from you xx
Hey! Aw that’s amazing news 👏🏻 well done. I’d get stuck into the access now :) no need for experience to be honest. It will teach you everything you need for the apprenticeship/ degree. Wherever you want to be 😀 hope you’re getting on ok xx
@@ClaireCarmichael that’s amazing thanks so much Claire I’ll get started right away then. Does the diploma also boost me up to a band 3 or level 3 as soon as I’m done which qualifies me for the nursing apprenticeship? I’m loving it so far I’ve only worked 3 12hr shifts and I’m learning a lot of new things xx
What if I don't have GCSE or A level? Can you please mention the step by step process in a video..I am health care assistant I'm interested I want to go for nursing
Morning :) No it’s never too old. I was 36 when I finished my nursing 🥰 there was also lots of people over 40/ 50 years old in my class too! And they did well :)
Starting salary in the NHS is band 5 :) GP is different because not many are on agenda for change (NHS Pay scale) and they will pay whatever they want lol
Hi Claire , I’m currently studying health & social care level 3 in my last year & I want to do mental health nursing however I’m not going to uni can you let me know where I could find an apprenticeship that could help me onto this route
Hey! You would have to Google it I’m afraid. I have no idea where does the apprenticeships. I’m assuming you have to apply through the local trusts / nhs jobs / organisation websites directly. X
As long as you have the relevant qualifications to get into universities yes :) just check the university you want to go to. They have their requirements on their websites :)
