Grew up in LA Cañada, before it was La Cañada-Flintridge in the 50s.
I remember going to Glendale, and Mr. Spillman is right; it's a lovely town & has been a beautiful town for as long as I can remember.
Glendale Adventist Hospital was our go-to for emergencies before Verdugo Hills Hospital was built.
    Love you, Glendale!❤️

Great piece Eric! Love seeing Coach Irace! Amazing that he still has the old records - I think I’m still on them too! (Julie Fricke)Even though I’m Class of ‘82 with Mark, I’m so happy to say that we were track buds and Hoover Groovers! The Spillman family is great! Congrats on your many years with KTLA5.

That is great. Eric knew where he was headed for a career back in high school and made it happen. Perseverance and effort. And it's not always easy in the Los Angeles area. So much competition.

I lived in Pasadena California, worked in Glendale California. I have seen the city of Glendale transforming from a quiet peaceful city to a war zone, controlled by young mob like generation mostly consisting of (unfortunately) my own nationality. imagine young kids no more than 18 or 20 year old driving the latest models of Benzes, BMWs and sometime Maserati. Those are kids who hardly finished high school or not. Their parents lease these luxury cars for them and let them loose reeking havoc in the city of Glendale. Weaving in & out of lanes on brand, or Glendale Ave, or even Central Ave. Some times smashing into parked cars and destroying them, then running away from the seen. I wandered how can their parents afford these expensive cars knowing that most of them live on government assistance checks, then someone enlightened me with the one and only logical answer. Some of them are car jackers, credit card fraud convicted felons, they even showed me many individuals with ankle tracking devices and how to remove them without the law enforcement agencies figuring it out, others are drug dealers, and almost all of them cheat the government with fraudulent claims and tax evasion tactics. Another thing KTLA is not showing you is the actual traffic nightmare on Brand, Glendale, Glenoaks, Broadway, Chevy Chase, and all the surrounding roads and streets, Why don't they show you the side streets parking war; people park on the streets all day long because they converted and rented their garages into single living quarters.
So, Eric, and KTLA5, stop the B.S. and show the people the horrors of the city of Glendale California. What was your reasoning for hiding all these horrible facts? My forty years of living in California driving every ware from north of San Francisco to the borders of Tijuana told me the exact opposite of the picture you are trying to portray. Do you have an answer to my one question? I am sure you do, but you don't like revealing all that to out of towners.

The street racers Involves people from everywhere it's bad in the valley which is in the city of los angeles. I don't think anyone here knows how to drive. I'm by palm springs. They'll go 90 in a 50mph zone. The driving problems are a region wide problem now

I’ve always found it interesting how Beirutzis hate their own people it’s usually only your type that says things like this glendale is one of the safest cities and has been for a long time. 9/10 times only beruitzis become sellouts not surprising

Most of the San Fernando Valley is part of the city of los angeles. Glendale and burbank don't consider themselves part of the valley for that reason
