Both his Dutch and his English sound great. He might only be at a basic level but that’s enough to be understood and that’s all language is about. Communication is beautiful in any form. Because he has the basics he could easily improve just by listening and a bit of practice. I’ve heard English interviews with him and he has a very good grasp of the grammar and a massive vocabulary. His accent is lovely and he can form good sentences. That’s all you need. He’s very humble about his language skills, they are far better than he believes!
Nicaela Levin Belgium has 3 official language: French, Dutch (Flemish) and German. I speak French, I do not speak Dutch, I need to re-learn Dutch, and would like to learn German. There are French-speaking regions and cities, Dutch or Flemish-speaking, and there is a German part. The Flemish and Germans are minorities. Because there are more French speakers than Dutch-Flemish or German. Some Flemish people are nationalists. Others what unity. Brussels where I am from is both French and Dutch speaking. My mother is an English speaker from Trinidad, and my father is French speaker from Togo (West Africa). And I have family all over the world (Belgium, France, Holland, Togo and Ghana, Trinidad, the United States, and probably Germany)
