Super helpful! Suggestion for future viewers, you may want to use fishing line at the end to reconnect the cable to the shifter as that is a huge pain in the ass.
I am currently trying to do this. Can you elaborate? Is the fishing line looped around the plastic piece that attached to the shifters rod? I can't figure out how to get it back on.
@@colton9841 GGambit yeah, of course. The plastic cable is extremely difficult to reconnt to the shift lever button pin. This is because it's very difficult to pull up to reconnect. So my recommendation is that at the end, before you put the shift lever back on feed some fishing line through the plastic. This will allow you to pull up the plastic cable much more easily. Additionally, because the fishing line is so thin it won't be in the way of the pin on the gear lever when you reconnect them.
Would you have any idea whether it's possible to replace a Seat DSG Selector with a Skoda Karoq DSG Selector? They are basically the same car, same engine, same gearbox, but the actual gear selector on the Skoda Karoq is better for someone like me who have a disability on my right hand, which makes it difficult to use the original selector.

Beautifully done mate!
Gents that pin you twisted to release the gearbox do you have to lock that back the other way when you out the box back in?
Thanks batman 🤪
MrWaheedulHaque I wondered if anyone would ever notice that!

when I loosen the metal clip, its stil stuck, I cant pull this off. what is the problem :D yourse has been off before. how whas it the first time?
It had not been off before
@@1BlueGhost Ok I had to remove the metal clip completeley. then I could click it out of the groove in the shank.
Hey man should the car be in neutral when doing this?
Merci
How do you remove the silver sides if you just wanted to replace them?
I am unsure to be honest. id imagine they just clip off but I haven't tried or looked so can't really say.
yes that's actually what i also want to know.
ruclips.net/video/p1CCizD7PnI/видео.html I hope it is not to late
thank you so muuuuuuuuch
Those lever-type gear selectors have outdated design IMHO. Ferrari's and Lambo's buttons look much better.
That was the main reason I sold the car and went back to a manual 👍
Well golf is not a lambo now is it...
😂
