I needed to hear this, Father. Every single morning I state that His will be done, and I asked Him for guidance in my doubt and then I found this video
I have suffered this for 51 years. I cannot thank Fr. Santa enough for doing this for us. And thank you Father for being a priest. You are the most valuable people on earth as no one else can confect the Eucharist or forgive our sins!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU FATHER I HAVE SUFFERED FROM THIS FOR YEARS I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS WEAKNESS ON MY PART AND I FEEL SOMEWHAT IT IS BUT I HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING NOW 🙏
@@catholicocd I haven't done nothing with the 6 and 9 commandment but there are other sins that are mortal, what if I commit and not aware or notice it ,thank u
@@reynam5427If you are not aware of it then you necessarily could not have done it with full knowledge and full consent could you have? When we go to confession we confess all mortal sins that we are conscious of. If you are not conscious of them then you cannot confess them but they are still forgiven in the sacrament.
@@catholicocd ok, thanks. Some time ago I read a tender conscience is a different thing than an scrupulous one, because the first is correct while the second is wrong 🤷♀️
I'm suffering this for many years. Desperate in life fear anxiety caused by it. Can't live a peaceful life. Hope God does a miracle in life of all the person suffering from this sickness.
I am a well educated guy, a Catholic, social worker/councilor. I heard of scrupulosity but never looked into it. I do know about OCD. You should have started out with defining scrupulosity. I had to pause half way and look it up. Have you heard of generational spirits? The spirits that hack into a person's mind or soul; that can harden concupisance. It would be difficult for one to be open take the 'food' necessary to treat oneself. Like an addiction. Some might. One way to start is have righteous persons pray for one who has scooperlocity or OCD. Or an exorcist or priest do deliverance prayers. Once the 'spirit' is neutralized one could eat healthy. Look into it people.
What you are saying is well-intentioned, but it will not ultimately help people with a religious OCD, scrupulosity. The spiritual and pastoral approach still helps, but the root of the issue is a mental disorder, and that is what has to be treated for long-term management. Many confessors do not understand this. Many therapists also commonly mistake signs of OCD for normal anxiety. Therapists with special training to treat OCD are best equipped to address the issue. Fr. Tom Santa is an excellent pastor who offers the most up-to-date pastoral perspective on the issue from a Catholic perspective.
@@trinidadraj152 Yes, not only the spirits of the past, that nasty ID. I don't know how much therapy helps. Like AA one must define themselves first. What I'm really trying to say is recalibration of the mind. I have studied & read that prayer & meditation helps. To help with focus & concentration is biofeedback. I've studied & been hooked up once. I hear it tends to work but can a little or some time. Only God has a quick fire cure which can be called a miracle. Thanks for your input. ✌️🖖🙏

God bless you Father🙏🙏🙏
Fr your a truly a God send
This is awesome. Thanks. I’m too scrupulous.
One question is it a sin to believe your OCDs lies, to engage with the fear? It's really hard not to tho, it must be my greatest sin then. 🤔😔
Tender conscience is traditional catechetical scrupulosity. OCD on the other hand is a disorder. Not the same and not right or wrong. It simply is.
I wonder if I'm in a state of grace, always feel I did or thought something bad and fear of receiving holy communion 😑 I get confused
@@reynam5427 you are in the state of grace and the state of Scrupulous confusion. It is a disorder.

Does EVERY person suffering from scruples have OCD?
Not for sure, it could be a tender conscience, but if you are suffering with anxiety, compulsive behaviors, etc it is more than likely OCD

Ruminating is a sin? Sometimes we like to 'rethink' what happened to 'test' ourselves. So this rethinking would be a sin? I really struggle with this.
Is there somewhere where he said that or it seems like he might've been saying that? Or are you just asking?
I'm just curious why your collar is inverted in colors?
because it is a habit not a shirt.
@@catholicocdjust as long as it is not a bad habit. Lol.

It’s amazing how well you define it. I believe that it’s often generic and is primarily caused by misfirings in the brain.
