I have tried Lufthansa and the A330 Aeroflot from Moscow to Vladivostok and I would rate Aeroflot much better because they had more comfortable seats as in business and economy, the meals were better and the staff was very nice and helpful and always there this is my opinion.

This is not fair now it is a new airline, but the Soviet Aeroflot and old incidents cannot be attributed to it, and therefore it is safer than Lufthansa .

In the Soviet Union (up to 1990) every single aircraft in USSR belonged to the (back than state owned) company Aeroflot, wich literally translated means „Air fleet“.
So any aircraft crash, wich were mainly single/double seated military aircraft or such for agricultural usage counts into that statistic.
The modern Airline AEROFLOT has not much to do with this and is a perfectly safe airline. It has not more and not loss incidence than other major airlines, thus its homebase is confronted with harsh climatic conditions.
