  • This session was recorded at the Lowlands Festival in Biddinghuizen, The Netherlands on August 19, 2011. British singer-songwriter Frank Turner plays the song If Ever I Stray, which is on his fourth studio album England Keep My Bones (2011).

    Half step down for everyone wondering just tune every string on your guitar to flat. So top string 6 is Eb and second string 5 is Ab and third string 4 is Db and so on.
    If you have a good tuner that has a guitar option for tuning then you will need to turn that off and choose chromatic tuning mode in order to get the tuning above right.
    It works for all songs and just makes them a little lower for singing to but like others have said if you try to play along in standard tuning it sounds way weird and not even close but in reality it’s only half a key down from standard.
    Quite handy for playing live, I use it all the time.

    it's not to do with the lyrics. it's the tuning. i dunno why you're talking about the lyrics.

    Frank, you cheated. It's a half step down. I tried to play and sing along, and it sounded all fucked up lol
