The missile capable of travelling up to 400 kilometres could significantly reduce China's aerial superiority and put any aggressions against Taiwan or the South China Sea at great risk.

Cruse missles are for ground or stationary targets the have a corrective gyroscope guidance, as well as ground radar imaging for course correction, the missle she is talking about is air to air. Not surface to surface.

They have multiple layers of radar systems that detects drones, missiles or rockets, and counter it accordingly. This is not new in modern warfare.

Air defense systems use missiles that are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than drones, plus lasers are nowhere near combat ready and will NEVER fully replace kinetic defense because of things like weather and dust particles in the air which are quite common in a warzone.

AIM-174B is SM-6 launched from a fighter jet. They already have SM-6s in the Typhon system in the Philippines plus Tomahawk Cruise missiles which has a range of 1500 miles. More of these systems will be added soon by September. Btw, many think that these SM-6s have a range of 600 miles based on its actual volume and weight. China is on checkmate and can’t make a move.
