My combo is dhal, rice, bhagie, boiled plantain and Kutchella or amchar or coconut chutney. I also make some Tomato 🍅 and cucumber 🥒 chow to go with it.
Hey Reshmi, my husband's aunt used to make make aloo choka the same way. He said the aloo was the best he had, the best flavour but she died now. Also your mom looks very well for her age ❤

My mom had to cook for all her siblings as well when she was a kid and she would also go in the rice lagoon, the worms your mom is referring to are leaches, my mom told me about them. Mom ate doves as well, she and her brothers had their cat 🐈 Cayenne catch them though and they would roast them with salt and pepper.
While the hospitals are not the best condition,In Trinidad health care is free and we get all the tests done free. I think some trini's are to ungrateful..and some migrants too critical bc in the states health care and dental is very expensive and nothing is free. We don't wrk all the time but up there u must to survive especially in places like ny..and even america they have to wait on beds too its not how some trini's portray it to b perfect there..some speak the truth and some look to impress..not everywhere in the states is well developed either. Poverty is high. Also in Trinidad drs. Mk a gd salary and compared to outside they don't wrk that hard. Walking around on focused on their ph and tablet more than anything else..Trinidad drs. To happy yes. Rn British drs.. are complaining on how hard they hv it. Tell me they really hard and I will believe that..watch it in u tube and they r migrating to the Caribbean to get dr. Jobs..the Cuban drs. Wrk hard here ..but r not wanted bc the local drs. Ripping of the hospital and supplies so funny they complaining about supplies. And this is from ppl who hv seen these things take place in the hospital..drs. want easy wrk and plenty money bc they hv a degree and feel entitled..too much corruption in the hospital is wat has it so and d drs are a big part of it
Really? I haven't seen that in my experience. My father had to get an MRI done and got a date 2 years later. I know someone who died and years later, the hospital called saying to come in for a CT scan. I have friends working in the healthcare system, and most of them want to leave and migrate because of the conditions. In the US, they use phones and tablets because that's how they update patients' files, etc. There's a barcode scanner on the phone that scans every medication you receive, and it gets logged onto the internal system. It's also the way they are paged to different floors.
America has a great healthcare system, my husband and I worked in it for 30 years so I know first hand. Yes there is poverty here but we have free healthcare for those people. Nothing is perfect in this world and there will always be haters and complainers. It's just the way people are. my whole family migrated to the US from Trinidad back in the 60's and we have no regrets. I cannot speak on the healthcare system in Trinidad because I don't live there anymore but people tell me it sucks. Just saying..
@carolcaruso2657 I agree. My son got the best care last week. I was so impressed. They catered to our every need and made sure I was comfortable as well, because I stayed with him 24/7. You can get good healthcare in Trinidad if you have good insurance or have the money to pay to go to a private facility.
