    One thing I noticed when the horse was standing, usually his left front held the majority of weight. The right front was out front a bit. I would bet that when your horse is eating, he is supporting his front end mainly on his left foot. This will cause the left side of wither to be more musceled. Also, check if his left hoof is a bit high heel.

    That was awesome. Thanks Amry for sharing this knowledge with everyone. I feel this particular step in caring for our hearts goes unattended and it's important as our horses feet. BJ is a whole world of knowledge on the hows, whys, and what fors. Your one heck of a horse person for noticing what your horses back needed and that it was your saddle fit. What made you go to a saddle fitter? You almost never hear of trainers having their saddles fit each horse. You see them put it on a lot of different horses. I'm so glad I got to see this video. It was so informative so thank you for sharing and thank BJ for allowing us to watch. Stay safe and God Bless ❤🙏🤗

      Thank you Kerry! I have been struggling to fit a saddle to Butters all year. I know the basics of saddle fitting but I was ready for more knowledge. I hadn't struggled with Butters when he was younger so I knew something wasn't right. I want all my horses to have the best chance to be successful ☺️🙌

    Hi again AMRY
    Good for you for highlighting this topic. Happy for the horses that more riders are learning about and actually using this resource. I have always looked for and used whatever is out there to make them more comfortable and less stressed to do whatever job they have with /for their human. Especially for competitions as athletes they need every advantage. Just like humans too the comfort helps allow them to just be happy horses.
    You found a great gal to assist you explaining the hows and whys. Butters surely needed this and being just five will for sure be thanking you for the positive changes. Thx as always for sharing. Catcha next time.

    What a wonderfully knowledgeable person who is great at explaining everything. Most people don't realize how important a really properly fitted saddle is or how to achieve it. Not to mention the saddle pad This video should be required watching for all horse owners. I'm sure all owners want a properly fitted saddle but she shows how that needs to be addressed. Fantastic!

    My husband is a farrier and has helped many horses that have LLD. It’s fixable with a farrier who is familiar with Dr Esco’s method. Your horse probably has a difficult time picking up the correct lead or drops out of it quickly. I’d be interested to see the confirmation of his hooves. It will be upright or club looking on the shorter side.
    Love your videos. I learned to ride in the west, but live east coast (🤮) now. 😂

    OMG Butters is so much more balanced now so too is Amrys seat shoulders legs.
    Congratulations for noticing that something is not quite right and for seeking a true professional to help rectify the issues.
    Looking forward to seeing the progress with the new saddle pad, and adjusting rigging to suite butters conformation, and lead changes.
    Now for the rest to be assessed? Lol..

    Interesting! I had a mutton withered mare that i had three different certified saddle fitters look at her. All three were so different in what they recommended for that mare. Saddle fitting can get confusing. Enjoyed the Vid Amry, hope your Classic Equine Biofit shim pad works out for butters.

    I may be in the minority, but if you're training horses you should at least know the basics of saddle fit...is it a western thing? Just to chuck a saddle on and go?

    • @debrajabs9523
      @debrajabs9523 Год назад +5

      Saddle fitting in the same sense as is done with dressage and jumping saddles is not a common practice in the western world. Western saddle fitters are very rare and even more rare is a western rider that realizes they need to have it done.
